Annual Pass Changes???

I don't know how to take a picture on this computer, but here are the dates -

Both Power & Seasonal blocked out - 12/21/16-1/3/17, and 4/8/17 - 4/22/17 and 12/21/17 - into Jan 2018

Seasonal also blocked out 6/10/17 - 8/13/17

The website also lists early admission blockout days for preferred and premium AP holders, too many to list here.

I think when my passes expire end of next May I'm not renewing. Universal is turning into a price gouging Disney clone. The rate increase in passes, tickets, food, hotels, and such is getting way out of hand.

Maybe you should email them and ask. It is 9 months until the new water park opens. They may have a whole new slew of tickets and APs at that time.

If the water park is delayed, they don't want people paying for the privilege in an AP when the park is not opened.

I get that reasoning, but then why do they sell tickets valid from June 1 to UK residents? But yeah I will try to email them. I just think it's bad customer service leaving everyone in the dark like that.

I'm thinking the same thing. Guess we will have to invade your area after the passes expire! For the money I spend there I could easily pay for a condo at the beach.

Yes, but for those who have just renewed (me - my pass is up middle of October), would think the right thing to do to reward long-time pass holders would be to grandfather us in thru end of our APs.

Ok quite laughing people, it was worth a shot

When a local who visits really often makes that statement, it says a lot. Perhaps if more vote with their pocket book it will have some effect.

Unfortunately, it is a business. stockholders expect them to charge what the market will bear vs modest inflationary price increases. They do have to pay for the fancy improvements somehow I suppose. :confused3

I just bought a 4 day park to park ticket from UT for my son to bridge into a GA resident seasonal pass...this is getting too complicated for me, they had to do this just in time for our trip in a few weeks. Is the right procedure to go through the gates and upgrade at guest services inside the park?

Definitely. Just keep an eye out at Guest Services for a line that isn't too long.

The ticket you bought wasn't a promo ticket right? Just a normal ticket?

Yep, there is only so much money to spread around and the budget keeps getting tighter. You would think there would be bigger incentives for Florida Georgia residents than currently offered.

I have a small fortune in Universal and these price hikes don't sit well with me.

I understand that Universal's thinking is people will come, but there has to be a point where it does not become affordable. Just think about the families that come once a year or save for a few years just to enjoy it once in a lifetime. That enjoyment just went out of reach for many families.

Right, I made sure it was a normal ticket, they do say promo if it is a promo ticket and I also noticed it says not eligible for upgrade on the promo ticket that they offer. Mine is the straight 4 day park to park ticket no bonus days.

Renewal rates didn't change and they added on early admission for the preferred and the premier pass. Power passholders just got 50% off parking. Lots of passholders just got something that they didn't have last year but at last year's prices.

Early admission and parking might not matter if you stay onsite but I'm sure it will be advantageous to lots who don't.

So with the old 7-day Airmile ticket will I be paying the difference from a 4-day ticket to a seasonal pass or will they just exchange it to a seasonal pass? It was so much easier when the 4-day and the power pass were the same price.

Your guess is as good as ours right now!

Golly, makes me glad I bought my power pass back in like February or March when I was gonna come in May

Guest services will know the answer

I'm exchanging two more of those 7 day passes on October

I did the exchange on them last year had 8 sets of the 7 day hoppers and been exchanging them the past few years

This was a second trip to Orlando this year for us. What happened was I bought the Buy 2 get 1 free tickets from Undercover Tourist to give the kids for Christmas with plans for a 2017 trip. Then I found an awesome rate on a flight/car/Cabana Bay package AND it was in Canadian funds which makes a huge difference with the state of our dollar right now.
I convinced DH to move the trip up sooner because we already had tickets and this great package was available. We planned to upgrade our passes to power passes for peanuts and use them again next year.

Then the add ons started.. why not do HHN for two of us? Why not add Express to that so it's actually enjoyable? Why not take younger ds over to MNSSHP, why not stay over at Pop that night so DH and DD don't have to come get us? Then the Dollar tanks some more. Now.. it's going to be more for tickets. At some point you have to stay STOP. Especially given how much it cost for one night at HHN for two people.

Bottom line, we will just get four day tickets, we will spend our other two days enjoying the pools, most of our meals have to be quick service or offsite, and we won't be back in 2017 because we aren't getting AP's. like we planned. :(

I understand that Universal has added some amazing attractions and I know they have to pay for it somehow, but it feels like both they and Disney have hit my threshold. My vacation budget is stretched thinner and thinner and it's got to give at some point.
