Great trip. My 2 Disney kids now love UO. Just wanted to touch on some things and will try to answer any questions posed.

Loved Royal Pacific the new rooms are beautiful. Requested Tower 3 with a shower and was given just that on the 5th floor. We had a standard view, but it was of a pond with the highway in the distance and we could see part of the Sapphire Falls Resort. Weren't disappointed. My wife did find a used insulin needle on the carpet our first day, and last night our 9 year old son was barefoot in the room and yelled out in pain and we found he stepped on a piece of metal that had a screw in leg in it that was sharp. It looked like it broke off a bed frame. Sharp metal edge where it broke off, but luckily our son is fine. How we didn't see it all week is amazing. It must have been just under the bed.

Loved the pool and especially the Bula Bar and loved the super sized platter of nachos. Loved the overall theme of the resort. We had the continental breakfast twice at the Orchid Lounge.

The boats to City Walk were excellent and very clean. We also walked back and forth using the walking path which was nice.

Great job of security getting on the boats and the paths.

Two problems we had were that we bought AP's and after the first 2 days my wife's AP wouldn't work for park entrance. Every time she did the finger scan the light turned red. She had to show her ID each time to get in. No matter what they did they couldn't fix it, so a TM finally said that some people's finger prints just couldn't be scanned? Well it worked the first 2 days and her finger scan has always worked at WDW.

The other thing we had problems with was the room charge. We used a debit card so we gave them an amount when we checked in and they said once we were texted our room # the room charge would be activated. It NEVER worked our entire 1st day. They fixed it the next morning and it was hit or miss the rest of the week. When it didn't work the establishment where we used it would have to call RPR's desk to get clearance to use it.

That's all for now so I will check back later it's been a long day.

So glad to read this!

You had hiccups in your room/ hotel but still say it was a great trip

When you get the email survey, so include the issues you had
This will help in retraining staff

The charge back to your room seems like issues still happening to guests

Info yearly and each year have snags with it

So the big question is, think there will be a repeat trip to the darkside next year ?

Take your time and do let us know more about your trip When you are rested and have time

That finger scanners can be fussy. My DIL has that exact problem. It can be annoying.

I've never had an issue with the finger scan until my last visit. The TM reset it and it was good to go. Happy to hear you had a great time.

Aside the niggly issues.......glad to hear you enjoyed your trip..........

Good to hear you had a good first trip, sorry to hear that there were some minor kinks. I'd not be happy to step on something sharp in the room, glad your son is ok.

Your post brings up a questions I had not thought of until now, anyone who knows is welcome to answer. We will also be using a debit card for our room charges, does anyone know if they place a hold on the funds and if so how much? We always use a debit card at WDW and never have an issue, but I would hate to have funds held as we will need them for the 2nd half our our vacation in Nashville. If I know in advance I can allocate what's needed to a different account. Thanks in advance.

Mom, they asked us what amount we wanted on our room charge so I said $1,000 to start. It was immediately withdrawn from our checking account. Yesterday at checkout we still had $24.00 remaining that will be credited back to our checking account. I just checked and it's still not there. Just give them an amount you know you'll use and you can increase it as you go.

Thank you:thanks: that is exactly what I needed to know, very helpful information.

Four more days :cheer2::banana::wave:

Funny, we were at RPR last week, checked out 8/29, and were in T3 5th floor, but had a view of the pool. Glad you trip went well and your kids are onboard the UO train. I must say, my jaw dropped when I read about the syringe on the floor. That is a little disturbing. Hope you let management know.

This was our second stay and it was fantastic. Toured the SF and CB and although they both are great resorts, RPR will always be the winner.

Had the same issue with the finger scanner. Saw it happening to a lot of folks actually.

cam, we were in room 3529. When you go down the hall, after exiting the elevator, you get to the section where the corridors split we went to the right and our room was the 5th door on the left.

OMG, that is hilarious. We were neighbors. We were in 3528 right across the hall. Our door would slam shut when it closed so your probably heard us:)

cam, do you have a couple of kids? If so my wife saw you. In fact she told us we have a family right across the hall so be quiet not to bother them.

I just noticed in your signature cam, that you have 1 child. My wife is not sure if it was 1 or 2 kids across the hall, but she definitely saw your family entering the room 1 day.

Just one DS for us. Although on Friday, we had some friends visit us for the day and they have a DD and DS so she may have seen them.

More on our trip. We ate at Toothsome's!!! The place is unbelievable and a real experience eating there. Awesome costumes by the TM's and our table was visited by the robot and Penelope. Kid's loved it. The food was good and the desserts were "AWESOME SAUCE!!!

We also ate at Margaritaville, Mythos, Bubba Gump's, Cowfish, and Finnegan's. We were seated immediately in every venue with no wait. We didn't even need priority seating with the room key. What a difference from WDW, no reservations needed and eat whenever you wanted. The prices were also cheaper than at WDW and loved using the AP's for the 10% discount. Oh...and the food was very good to excellent!

Off property we went to Mello Mushroom for very good pizza...YUM!!!

Counter services we ate at were Thunder Falls Terrace, Simpson's Fast Food Boulevard, Cafe 4, Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous, and Louie's. We also had quick breakfasts at Cinnabon and Croissant Moon Bakery. Once again we enjoyed all of them.

We really loved Express Pass. WDW just can't touch this. It was so nice walking up to a ride and just decide to go on it and get just about to the front. The character interaction for the kids was tremendous, they met and took pictures with just about everyone. The guy who played Spiderman was terrific.

We really loved the ease of going from park to park.

WWoHP was a winner with the entire family. My wife and kids are Butterbeer addicts. We bought the interactive wands for the offspring and they loved using them in both lands.

All for now.

Just now able to be on the dis and was so delighted to read your report of fun

When you first asked us question about the darkside, we all tried to guide you in ways to make the best of the trip

So many of us are thrilled you ended up loving UO

You just graduated from newbie to pro on one visit!

Do fill out the survey the hotel sends you and mention the syringe
They need to retrain housekeeping as it will benefit future guests

I have had issues before but it doesn't bug me

Things happen but can be corrected if management knows about it
