Hello,

I used to frequent these boards all the time years ago but with social media and more up to date quicker responses I haven't been here for ages!!! :(

But I am in the middle of planning a huge surprise trip for my 5 year old will turn 6 on the trip.

What are your must do's for a Birthday?

I will obviously have a cake at one of the character meals?

Is Cafe Mickey really getting rid of characters? I read on Facebook they were but google didn't find anything.

Princess for the Day and Photo Pass are something else on my list.

Now I just need to decide on a hotel and start saving :D

Wow, can't believe you lo is nearly 6 :faint:

I don't know about Cafe Mickey losing characters, but I would def think about it for a birthday or Auberge if your lo loves the princesses.

I think just being there is a fab birthday present!

When do you plan on going?

Yes 6 in March :'(

Looking at Golden Forest this all so new to me! I feel like a Disneyland Paris newbie!

I remember you! OMG can't believe your baby is coming up 6. My two are 11 and 8 now - time flies!

I'd do Inventions (do the cake there) rather than CM - it's gone downhill imo and just not worth it.

I'd do Auberge and Princess for a Day but sounds like you have that all covered anyway.

Oh my gosh, all growing up so fast!

I love inventions hoping to do the Themed brunch and will have the cake then.

I think our 4 dining reservations will be Buffalo Bills, ADC, Inventions and Bistrot Chez Remy or Walts

I would like to do Cafe Mickey for Breakfast on her Birthday but not sure if it is worth the extra

Very exciting to be planning for her birthday trip! Can't believe she is going to be 6! That's how old my youngest was when I joined the DIS and she's 20 in a couple of weeks!

I know - scarily fast! I was just looking at the photo of my DD1 with Cinderella in ADC tonight - she not quite 3 at the time and her little face is beaming - bless! Cinderella has always been her favourite and she was so excited and dressed in her matching outfit! Lovely memories.

I think those dining choices sound fab - we still haven't done BB despite going lots - so I'm determined to book next May! We never miss Inventions (great idea to do her cake at the brunch!). Haven't done Remy yet but again, on my list! Walts is nice - the place, rather than the food tbh, but now it's Premium I probably won't bother again tbh.

Lots of planning! Enjoy!

This sounds like the best birthday present and I think you have most bases covered already. Who is your DD's favourite character? Perhaps a new princess dress character hat for the occasion? I think you can still get the birthday sticker from City Hall which might bring your daughter extra attention from characters and CMs. Enjoy the planning and have a wonderful time. :goodvibes

They do proper (WDW like) birthday badges at City Hall now - a must!

All booked :D

We are going on the Eurostar on March 8th for 4 nights. We are currently staying at Santa Fe but hoping to upgrade to Hotel New York. Our booking is due for payment on Christmas EVE so money may be a bit tight then so hoping after Christmas I can upgrade :D

Booked Cafe Mickey Breakfast for her Birthday and plan to do Buffalo Bills, Auberge de Cendrillon , Inventions Sunday Brunch,

So excited we plan to keep it a surprise until March 7th :D

Aww how nice. There is talk of a new character meal at Plaza Gardens but not sure when (it's to replace Cafe Mickey I believe). All rumours though afaik. Would be great if they did a Winnie the Pooh theme like Crystal Palace at WDW!

Will you see the Star Wars stuff? Know it finishes in March - it looks amazing!!

I haven't told my DDs I've booked for May half term yet (booked flights, but still need to book hotel but holding out for a good deal!!!?). My DD1 is desperate to go back, she, like me, prefers DLRP, it's her 'home' Disney!! I probably will tell them beforehand though as she'll be 12 by then and it gets much harder to keep anything quiet from her!! We were hoping to go next summer too and tie in with a trip to Paris, but DH isn't keen. He wants a 'proper' summer holiday so we'll see. I suppose we should be grateful we are going at all and getting to see the 25th celebrations.

I've heard that there's likely to be a new half board offer released in October for next year so you might get lucky :thumbsup2
