Disney Wonder December 30, 2016

Wow, empty meet so far! Kathleen, so happy to have you joining us. Amanda, are you on as well, or did you just start the board for us?

My name is Amy (38). Joining me on this cruise is my dh Eric (48), ds Bennett (14), dd Lindsay (11), and ds Grant (7). We are from the suburbs of Chicago.

This will be our fourth dcl cruise. We have done a Western Caribbean on the Magic, and two Alaskan on the Wonder. Was supposed to be on the Wonder last summer for a European cruise, but a kidney transplant stood in our way. Now that I am healthy again, we are thrilled to be back aboard the ship!
 
This will be our first Disney cruise, and the kids' first cruise! We decided to make this their Christmas present, so they will have one exciting Christmas morning. I think one of their favorite parts of our DL trip last week was the ship model in the GC, ha! DD will be 11, DS will be 8. DH didn't like the one and only cruise he's been on with my extended family pre-kids but that was Holland America... after watching the travel shows about Disney cruises, he was easily convinced to give this a try. I've been on 4 other cruises in high school and college, but never Disney. We invited my parents to join us, and they will be celebrating their 40th anniversary in January. Already having a hard time keeping quiet about this! Looking forward to everyone's advice as we get closer the the planning stages.

Hi there--Glad to have you join us! We too are making the cruise the kids' Christmas present. While last time the loved communicating with fellow cruisers before the trip, I think the surprise will be with it. We are telling them by having one of the Mickey calls come in at 10:00 am on Christmas morning! So looking forward to this! I am definitely having a hard time keeping quiet! I also have a son who will be 8 on the cruise, and a daughter who will be 12. So it sounds like our kids are similarly situated age wise. I also have an older son. My husband is not a big fan of most cruises, but he definitely loves a DCL cruise! This is our 4th cruise, and there are others who have even more under their belt. I'm sure any of us will give you any tips you need!

Mickey call!! I didn't even think of that. I was going to have them unwrap a bunch of cruise-related gifts first, and save the informational DCL DVD for last so they can put the clues all together... but now I like the call idea! Either way, they are going to be super excited. I'll definitely need port excursion advice! We thought Atlantis was a no-brainer until I found out how many ships are in Nassau when we are. Now that seems like a terrible idea. Plenty of time to plan, though! :)
 
Super Excited to choose Disney for our first cruise. Lots of people in our group. Their will be about 30 of us! Ranging from age 2 to 65. Seems like time is standing still until we go. Kinda crazy that I have already been doing small preparations to get ready for our trip but I can't help it. I want to be super prepared when the time comes!!!
 


Also there is a FB page created for this cruise under "Disney Wonder Cruise December 30th 2016 Galveston" nothing has been posted yet but seems like another way to meet and organize Fish Extender group
 
Hi--So glad you are joining us. That page you mentioned has no activity yet as I don't think anyone is managing it. There is a "Group" though on that same site, and there are definitely more people there.
 
This thread is pretty empty... but for those of you watching, what are you doing in Nassau? I've posted in the forum to try to get help. Curious what others are doing, though. I'm still undecided!
 
This will be my second cruise with my family, which is myself Samantha (19), mom, and two cousins Miah(12), Joey(18). Last cruise was my graduation gift, this one is Joey's grad gift. Heard about this site from youtube and just thought i check it out and see some people who were going on the some cruise and learn more about these fish extenders things.
 
Hi guys! My wife & I just booked this cruise and will be joining you. It'll be our 7th Disney Cruise, 2nd time on the Wonder, and 1st time on the Wonder after the refurb! This will also be our first sailing out of Galveston. We're looking forward to seeing all the new stuff on-board and getting away from the mid-west Winter which I'm sure will be in full force by then.

We planned for this to be a surprise for Christmas, but my husband couldn't hold in his excitement! :) We have 3 kids, Jasmine (11), Kadin (7), and Leila (5). We're signing up for the fish extender things, even though I have no idea what I'm doing. Pinterest will get me through it! Looking forward to sun, sand, and Mickey! :sail:pirate:
