I am planning a surprise 13th birthday trip for my daughter. I thinks she is feeling a little over Disney *gasp, hand to heart* I would like to make this a bit of a transitional/grown up trip. Where is the best, non character brunch at the resort or in the park? Open to any other tips/suggestions for grown up trip. Planning mother daughter spa at Mandara and dinner at Steachhouse 55 or maybe White House in Anaheim. Thanks in advance!!!!

Thank you all for your input! I so appreciate it! Considering cancelling Steakhouse 55 dinner and doing White House (nearby) instead. I will look into Jazz Kitchen and see if we can make it work.

Brunch is a great idea. I am trying to plan a few extras on this trip and love the idea of Sunday brunch.

I haven't been to the White House yet myself, but the owner, Bruno, gives so much to the community I love that you're going there. Let us know how it works out. :)

If you switch to White House, definitely look into brunch at Steakhouse 55. It's my favorite at DL.

Thank you Mary Jo! That pretty much seals the deal then. Think we will do brunch at maybe Steakhouse 55 and dinner at White House. P.S-Love the podcast, thanks for all you contribute! Listening to old episodes on Knott's currently.

Awesome! Brunch at Steakhouse 55 is a great choice. :)

Here's an article on him. One of our local radio stations has an annual fundraiser for pasta or $ to help him - he feeds children that live in motels 7 days a week, and has been doing so for years. :)

And thank you for listening to our show!

Another idea is to go to tea at Steakhouse 55. It is held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you went to the first seating, it would be close to brunch time.

Great idea! Since we are going mid October, it is Halloween theme tea and already sold out :(

I always get the omelette - it's my fave! But the steak and eggs and chiliquiles have always been delicious for my dining partners.

I just love S55 because it's a perfect combo of white linen service with a casual, non-stuffy vibe. And they do GREAT breakfast cocktails - mimosas and Bloody Mary's.
