Help with bag check/diaper bag

My DH and I are taking our son to Disney for the first time in May. This will also be our first time visiting since the increase in security/more thorough bag check. DH and I have gone several times before, but he never took a bag and I always just had a small purse that got a cursory check.

I'm trying to figure out how to pack the diaper bag to be the most efficient. My son is only 10 months now, but I assume at 18 months, we'll need to be taking diapers, wipes, at least one change of clothes, sunscreen, snacks, and probably other stuff I'm not thinking of right now.

Can any other parents out there help? I really would hate to be holding up the bag check line!!!

We just got back and I had the diapers and extra clothes in one clear gallon ziploc bags. They will pull things out and one time they even patted down a diaper! I started putting our stuff in the clear bags and that way they patted through that. In our bag we had sunscreen, diapers and extra outfit, bandaids, and phone charger. I just had everything open and unzipped and ready to quickly pull out of the bag, no issues

The best tip I have is make sure the bag is not over-stuffed. If security can't easily see everything that is in the bag they will take everything out if they have to in order to get a good look.

I was planning on having thing in clear ziplock bags. So that it can all be pulled out without having things get everywhere. You could do it all in one large one, or you can put them in smaller ones so that it is easier to find things. I think I am going to put things in smaller bags. For example, one bag is diapers, wipes, and vasoline. One bag is change of clothes, on bag is snacks and so on. Then I can just pull out what bag I need at time, making it easier to tour the parks as well.

I like that plan! Smaller clear bags will also allow security to see through better vs one big bag where they might not see everything as easily and will probably ask to open that up too.

Just open all of the zippers before you go through. That's all I did, and I never felt like I was "holding anything up".

Ziploc bags. It also makes your day easier.

Diapers in one, wipes in another, snacks in another, sunscreen in another, etc, etc.

They can see through the bags and it also makes it easier for you to locate what you need in the parks.

ditto the ziplocs - one for diapers, one for clothes, one for snacks, etc.

and definitely have the bag unzipped. We had 2 backpacks and it didn't take too long as we had everything open and neatly organized into bags.

This is what we do (the smaller bags), and it's great not only for security, but getting through the day without your bag turning into a big jumbled mess! Plus you can just grab exactly what you need (diaper bag for bathroom breaks, snack bag for restaurant) instead of hauling everything everywhere.
