Purchase gift card with gift card for Food and Wine?

This may be a silly question that I should probably know the answer to, but here goes! Can we purchase the wristband style gift card at Food and Wine with a Disney Gift Card? Just wondering since we tend to buy them discounted at BJ's, and would love to just use those to get the wristband ones.

I suppose if not, we could just purchase the wristband ones for the lowest amount allowed and then register both of them on the gift card site and combine, but would obviously prefer to skip that step if we can. Thanks!!

I don't know if you can use a gift card to purchase a F & W gift card. Perhaps someone with experience with that will respond. But, I wouldn't see why you couldn't charge the gift card to your room and then pay that balance with your gift card.

I have experience with that. You definitely CANNOT buy a wrist card with a regular disney gift card. Unless they changed something in the last 4 years.

I tried this at Flower and Garden festival this past March. It seemed like it was going to work, but in the end the system refused the transaction.

I am not sure if you can buy a GC and charge it back to you room then you could just paid that with a GC. You could load $1-5 in the wristband GC and go to disneygiftcard.com and pass the rest of the money from that GC to the wrist GC.

and you cannot charge it to your room - we tried that at food and wine last year - it has to be cash only

The minimum load was $15 the last time I bought a gift card at WDW.

You cannot use a GC to pay for the F&W GC. You also cannot charge it to your room with your MB. Cash or credit/debit card only.

I ended up making my own for last year, using wrist coil key chains that I purchased on Amazon, a hole punch and a Disney GC.

Thats a great idea - I love this!

This same idea could be used for those who don't have the magic bands and have a photopass card

You can also purchase the wrist card adding a minimum balance (I think it's $10?) and then transfer the balance from your full-sized card on the Disney Gift Card website. Someone mentioned that the wrist cards are easier to use because the bar code can be scanned without taking it off your wrist.
