World of color dessert party?!

I want to do this but will be solo tho , do u think they would
Put me with another solo person if there is one or seat me by myself which I would prefer

All depends on how sold out they are. When we were there there were a few solos seated by themselves at their own table each but there were open tables still available...if you are on a busier night I would expect to be seated with another solo or another party. There is no guarantee for anyone to have a dedicated table unless you are booking for a party of 4.

We did the dessert party last Tuesday and it was awesome. What a great way to just relax and enjoy the show. I felt bad for all the people crowded in the viewing areas in front of us. The desserts and drinks were tasty.

We were there last Wednesday, Aug 17th. Fantastic Show, server and the check in CM's were terrific. Overall experience A+. Our group consisted of 7 adults (age 26-66), 15yr old, 10, 9 & 7yr old. The 3 kids plus the 15 yr old all got the glow cups. Our 15 yr old definitely looks 15. It was a big splurge for our group. But it was awesome ! We were seated to the far left, front row with tall chairs. It seemed like it was pre-arranged for the seating, as we were lead to our tables by a CM. We had 3 tables/10 chairs for our group. Viewing, desserts, show, CM's were wonderful !

We (me and DH) did the WoC DP on 08/24 and LOVED it! We definitely felt it was worth it for the two of us. Our party was completely sold out. We were the third group in line to check in and were informed while we were waiting that groups smaller than four would be seated with others. DH and I were playing Heads Up in line and had started talking to the groups around us and had fun with the mother/daughter duo behind us in line. After we were lead to our table, they were lead there too. We continued our earlier chat while munching on our desserts which were awesome! I really enjoyed the breads and cheese paired with the grapes. We were all offered refills on our alcoholic beverages of choice which was very nice as well. I enjoyed the show quite a bit though I remember being more moved by the version I saw 5 years ago. Hubby had only ever seen the Christmas version in 2013 and much preferred this version to that one (though it was heavily Frozen themed and at the time he hadn't seen the movie)

We did the Dessert Party on Monday, August 22nd. We arrived at 7:45 and were the 3rd group in line. A nice surprise was an older mother and daughter, who sat next to us during the Frozen show earlier in the day, were right behind us in line. So we had a nice chat with them. It was not sold out that night, and there were empty tables. The table in front of us had only one person. We loved the food, it is a lot, and we could not finish all of it. It was nice being able to sit and not feel crushed by the crowd. The view was perfect. We enjoyed that we were close to some special effects, that people in the crowd totally missed since we were farther back. We both said we would do the party again.

do they bring GF stuff if requested ahead of time? I'd love to try this but don't want to pay that much and not eat anything...

Yes, you can make a booking for dietary requirements. They will modify the offerings for you GF party members. But be aware, often it is remove those things with gluten and add more of the same stuff that is GF.

Not sure which thread it's in, but someone has posted a photo of their GF platter.

I am totally doing this the money is worth the chair alone in my opinion. I notice in the video they stay they wouldn't bring small children, but they don't say why. Is it because they wouldn't be able to see? Or it it that they think they would be restless and disturb others? We are planning to bring my son and he enjoys watching the shows and usually watches them with out getting bored. So if its just the restless thing I plan to bring him anyway

Our experiance : Our group of 10 had 3 kids ages 7,9 & 10. The 10yr old can tend to get restless. But they all did great ! They felt very special with our seating etc. We started inline together and actually were there at 7:30pm. 3 groups in front of us. We took turns taking them out of line (bathroom etc) before getting checked in and seated. The CM's were terrific ! We all enjoyed the seating, desserts and sitting to view the show. The glow cups were a fun distraction also.

I don't recall that, but maybe it was because of the food? It really isn't small child friendly. If you take your son you might want to bring something he will enjoy eating. Unless he likes Brie and Manchego cheese and some very different desserts!

Yes, our 3 kids weren't that impressed with the desserts. There favorite food was the grapes. We were given "to go" boxes so the adults did take leftovers to eat later. I would also agree to take snacks for the kids incase they didn't like the food offered.

I'm pretty sure I'll agree with your kiddo's. Not a dessert person but I'm more than willing to pay for the chair and no pushing. So excited to do this!

CM's were great !
Even offered to take our pictures with Mickeys Fun Wheel in the background. Yes, sitting and relaxing was fabulous !

Question for anyone who shared a table with another party -
Did they give each party a bread basket? I don't so much mind sharing a table, but I'm a little weird about germs and people I don't know touching the same bread I'm going to eat. Lol a bit weird I know but still.

I can't comment since I was alone but likely you could request your own , maybe even ahead of time at the podium. It's not an unusual request from a food service standpoint.

We shared a bread basket with the party of 2 we were seated with. All the bread is cut individually so there is no need to touch any bread that you're not going to eat yourself.

Just booked this for Sept 12, so excited to be able to sit and enjoy the show. When the current NPH version ends on the 5th, will it go back to the default version or do they do anything for Halloween?

No Halloween version. They announced on the Disney Parks Blog that it'll be returning to the -original- Workd of Color
