We completed the Princess Meet n' Greet Collection! - An Early Feb Trip Report

Love the idea of doing pressed pennies, but I never seem to get my act together to do it! Did you download a list of where they were located or just do the ones you stumbled onto?

I believe beer would taste much better out of a wookie stein :)

Interesting to read your thoughts on the Star Wars dessert party. I think it's the first review I've read. I was wondering about these things, if they are really worth the money. Seems like in this case it might not be. I enjoy dessert and would consider paying for it, but the ones here don't seem all that exciting.

We didn't even think about doing pressed pennies the first time we went. The second time we went, the last day we were going to EPCOT for Food & Wine and I wanted something for the girls to do while we were tasting our way around the world. I didn't download a list but I collected all of the locations in each country on these little passports I made for them. But mostly we just try to find them as we go. Or ask a cast member, they are always willing to tell you where to go.

I did pack the mini m&m tube for the last two trips. I filled them with 2 Quarters and 1 Penny stacked inside. And then I pack a oval shaped gum container for the pressed pennies. The girls like doing it but it's not our main goal most times.

This is the only dessert party we have done. So, I am not sure if the other ones are better or worse. There were many items that I didn't take picture of. I wish I had taken more pics. The deserts were a little dry to me personally. There was a darth vader eclair that I was looking forward to but it was def dry. If you can eat a lot of deserts, you can do well at this event. But I think you have to go into thinking of it as an experience and not just "making" your moneys worth.

I read a bunch of reviews on this before we went and it seemed very 50/50 on whether people thought it was worth it or not.

Hi Everyone! Sorry that I have fallen behind on this trip report. End of the school got crazy with the girls first and (probably) last ballet recital, end of year parties and then summer hit. And summer is always a whirl win for us. We took a vacation to Myrtle Beach, 2 weekend trips to the in-laws who live on a lake, plus MANY birthday parties!

But I do want to try and finish up our last couple days. I still have some good things to post!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day Seven!!! - Mystery Day!

So, in my planning, I decided that I wanted to have a "flex" day or a day that we could like the girls pick what park they wanted to go to. So, This was that day. I worked all of our dinner reservations to be open this day, so we could decide while we were there. we talked about where to go over the course of the week. We talked about going back to Animal Kingdom, Morgan really wanted to get more stickers for her Wilderness Explorer book. But DH didn't want to go to AK just for some stickers. We talked about going to Hollywood Studios to do more Star Wars stuff. But the girls were only meh about it. So, EPCOT won! We had a mission that we needed to go to EPCOT for. So, that ended up being the winner!

Everyone was feeling the wear and tear of the week and were tired. So, we decided to "take" it easy in the morning. I had promised Morgan that they could swim in the morning but it was a bit cold this morning! I felt so bad but it was NOT swimming temp. Especially first thing in the morning. So, after we addressed the sadness that happened upon this news. We got ready and headed out to EPCOT. I think we took the bus this morning.

I may or may not of "bribed" Morgan with getting a a couple pressed quarters in EPCOT. She wanted to do them the other day and the bus came before we could do it. So, I said we could do the one at the bus stop and one in EPCOT. (Whatever it takes, right? :confused3)

Off we went!

Once we were there, the girls wanted to ride Spaceship Earth but.... I am pretty sure there was a line still, so we by passed Spaceship Earth and headed over to here...

Figment_Smelly.jpg

If you don't know where that is.... It's Figment! The girls love Figment minus the skunk smell. (see above)

Moon.jpg
I loved Mighty Python when I was in high school, so I do get a kick out of Dr. Nigel Channing. I don't remember the Dreamfinder version, other than that I know I loved this ride as a kid.

Figment Ride.jpg

After the ride, we went and did some of the "stuff" in the area. Morgan and Gwen found the make your own Figments but not all the machines were working, so they were kind of far apart. So, Gwen was left to her own devices to make and name her Figment.....

Figment Gwen Made.jpg

After some games, we headed to the gift shop to leave. The girls of course wanted to get something. We had already warned the girls that they could get ONLY one thing today. But they found little Figments, and I caved and let them get them and still get "something" else. (probably because I love figment) They were cute they had little magnets in the hands so....

Figment.jpg
They were cute they had little magnets in the hands so they discovered they could do this with them...

Figment Hair.jpg

After Figment we headed outside. I wanted to try the flavored popcorn at the cart outside of there. I really wanted to try the buffalo popcorn and Gwen wanted sour cream and chive popcorn. it was...... gross! It was covered in it. It was strange. We ate most of it but it was a bit disappointing.

With popcorn purchased, we headed to Spaceship Earth. I had scored fast passes when we walked in when we saw the big line. Pretty sure we hit the bathroom at BOTH the bathroom outside of Figment and then AGAIN by Spaceship Earth... Sigh. But we got in line and were on the ride in no time.

This is DH & Gwen. Not sure what face DH is making, and poor Gwen has her face half cut off. I heard a rumor that Spaceship Earth may get an upgrade. It needs it. The ride down is fun and cheesy but they need to upgrade it a bit and maybe all something past the invention of apple. None the less, we love the ride. The girls love it!

Mission Space DH Gwen.jpg

After Spaceship Earth, we decided it was time to head to the World showcase. So, we headed in the opposite direction as last time, (towards Canada) And then someone decided they had to go to the bathroom AGAIN. We had made it "ALL" the way to the very beginning of the World Showcase. So, I took the girls to the bathroom, which turned out to be a 2 stalls! ONLY!!! Why would Disney have ANY bathrooms with only 2 stalls?!? While we did that, DH got some cronuts at the stand right next to it.

OMG!!! The cronuts were DELICIOUS!!!! They were warm and freshly made. Sooooo good. I feel like they have to fresh and warm to get the full goodness. I think I had DH get an adult beverage of some sort to. Not sure what. After we ate our little snack we headed on into the World Showcase.

We by-passes Canada. DH was't interested in exploring Canada today. We headed into England. And say thins lovely lady. We got in line to meet her!

Alice.jpg

At first Morgan didn't want to meet her, but Gwen did. So we jumped in line.

Alice Girls.jpg

Alice was very proper and very nice. Gwen was VERY excited to meet her.
Alice Signing.jpg

We got our signatures and headed on. We explored the gift shops a bit and then headed to France.....

We are headed to Disney this Feb so I am loving your report!!! So glad to see that you got a good bit of swimming in. I was concerned that it might be too chilly. My kids will be 7.5 and turning 9, and we will get a stroller for sure since the younger one is SO slow. We'd ride 4 rides a day if she walked the whole time. Plus the stroller is so handy for holding all of their things and means I don't have to carry their jackets when they get hot :yay:. Win for everyone!

Welcome!!! :welcome:. This was the first time we were visiting at this time of year. It was very hit or miss. This particular day was by far the coldest. Spoiler alert for later, it was so cold, we decided just head back. BUT that was more because the girls weren't dressed properly for the temp. You do just need to be prepared for the temp swing. Most morning we just needed light jackets but shed them most days at some point in the day.

Day Seven - Part Two - France & more Food!

Good Morning Everyone!

The girls are crafting it up! (the are sadly kind of over the heat here in Jersey and prefer to be inside these days). So, hopefully I can get another post in this morning and maybe another this afternoon. Cross-your-fingers...

So, before we left England, I did apparently make the girl take a picture in the phone booth. Pretty sure, they have no idea what it is or used for.
As, you can see in Morgan's face in the picture...
Phone Booth.jpg

NOW! We headed to France! Morgan wanted to get Crepe's. The last time we were here, she ate (2) chocolate crepes all by herself! So, that was our first stop.

Morgan decided to try the strawberry this time and Gwen got the chocolate one. They both enjoyed there snack/lunch. I think I may have picked up a french beer for DH and I to split. We found a table in the grassy area across the way and relaxed while the girls ate.
Crepes.jpg

After that, I wanted to try one of the ice cream macaroons! So, we headed in to explore some of the France shops.

Ice Cream Macaroon.jpg

This was soon good. Just enough gelato and the macaroons were light and airy. I was a little disappointed that you had to choose from the remade combos. They have so many yummy flavors. But it was still delish! Next time I def want to try the brioche ice cream sandwich!

We wandered around the store a bit while I ate my treat. I wanted to have the girls try on hats from each country. So, this was the first ones..

France Hats.jpg

Aren't they cute in there little berets. Gwen wanted to buy one, but if I remember correctly, they weren't cheap and I wasn't convinced she would actually wear it at home. So, we moved on.

They were just about to start the France movie, so we hoped in there to watch that. WOW! That movie is dated!!! We sat down and as soon as it started, I was already thinking to myself, maybe we can just leave. But I am pretty sure DH fell asleep and Gwen almost fell asleep as well. So, I guess it was a nice relaxing rest. :confused3

After our nap, we headed onto to other countries. We kind of walked through the counties as we made our way to Japan. The girls have discovered our sushi dishes that we registered for when we got married. So, I wanted to get them kid chopsticks. We, also had never really been in the store. I had heard how great it was and all. So, I wanted to check it out. OMG!!! This store is HUGE!!! It just kept going back and back and back!

My sister loves all things Japanese, and has gotten the girls into Sailor Moon. Which the front of the store was Hello Kitty (which my girls only half get, sadly) and Sailor Moon. So, they checked that stuff out first but didn't see anything they really wanted. So, we adventured back. Passed the Pick a Pearl area which was bigger than I thought it would be and the folks hanging around were rather loud! I just found it interesting that it was THAT exciting. The girls found these SUPER cute Japanese Stuff Animals....

Stuffed Japan Toys.jpg

We had no idea what they were, so, I took this pic and text'd my sister to see if she knew.

But we kept pressing on, in search of kid chopsticks... Went back EVEN more! Until finally at the very back we found these!!!
ChopSticks.jpg

They are so cute! And Gwen's lovie is a Monkey and Morgan has a teddy. So perfect! The very back of the store has lots of great dishes and plates but I refrained from getting much. ;) I picked out two little white paper crane looking ceramics that are to hold your chopsticks. With our goods in hand, we checked out and headed on our way.

So, the "REASON" we came to EPCOT today, was to finish our Princess collection of meet n greets. We needed to find on this trip:
  • Pocohantas - Check
  • Tianna - Check
  • Mulan - Not Check, not yet!

So, we headed over to China. The posted time was still 15 minutes out but we knew we wanted to meet her, so we wanted to get in line. There was already a short line formed, so we figured it wouldn't be too bad. Luckily they were starting a show, so we had some entertainment for a little while. It was a little crazy with the show starting. Everyone was trying to figure out where the line was verse just people standing around. But thankfully no incidents or anything.

Waiting some more.jpg

And then Finally!!! IT was time to meet Mulan!!!!

Mulan.jpg

I had the girls take off there sweatshirts for the picture, thankfully. Gwen was SOOOOO excited to meet Mulan. I think Morgan was just more excited to be meeting the "last" princess. But none the less they were SUPER excited.

Mulan_02.jpg

I mean look at Gwen!
Mulan_03.jpg

Once we finished and were walking away, Morgan said "We Completed the Princess Collection!!!"

The girls were soon excited by meeting Mulan! It took us (3) trips to Disney to meet all of the Princesses! (2) Princess character meals, & some long lines! It was funny, they seemed so accomplished by this.

I made a photobook with just all the meets for the princesses. Maybe I will do a Princess only trip report...

ANYWAY! Back to the trip!

We checked out the carts outside and around the area while we discussed what we wanted to do next. I made dinner reservations in Italy (again) for Tutto Italiano. We had some time to kill before our reservation.

Gwen and Morgan played with the puppets for a bit.
Puppet.jpg
Does anyone actually buy these things?

And I got them to try on another hat!
Hats.jpg
This was sadly the last hat pic I got. :( Maybe a project for next trip. Maybe I will do the whole family. I think it would make some cute pics! Also, you can see it finally warmed up enough to keep the jackets off for awhile.

Anyway, the girls decided that they wanted to go on Figment and Spaceship Earth again. I think they wanted to do Test Track again as well, but I think it was down most of the day. So, we headed to the boat to take us back to the front of the World Showcase. We had never done it before and thought it would be a fun ride. We stopped at the China stand and picked up a bubble tea and some egg rolls. The bubble tea wasn't the same as the one they served at Food & Wine when we were there. It was milk based and the girls did NOT like it. The Kung Po Egg Rolls were delish.

The boat took awhile to show up, unload and then load back up. But at least we didn't have to walk all the way back around. Since we were doubling up on rides, no pics at this point. We rode Figment & Spaceship Earth but no Test Track. It was still down. :( I think we may have gone over to ride the Nemo ride as well, and then it was time for dinner! So, we headed back to Italy.

Dinner was good, but we def liked Via Napoli better. Tutto was just a little more fancy. Gwen did get the mozzarella stick "kids dinner" Which she thought was the best! I had the risotto with shrimp, it was good but not the best risotto ever. Dinner took FOREVER, again!

While eating we talked about what we wanted to do. We talked about going to Magic Kingdom for a little bit. But we got outside and it was COLD!!! So, we stopped in Mouse Gears on the way out to see if we could find pants for the girls. With no luck at all. They had (1) pair and then were $45. Nope. So, we just decided to call it a night. We had a full day for our last day and just decided to get some rest to make the most of the day.

But.... we decided to take the monorail back to Magic Kingdom and then take the ferry from there back to the hotel. BAD BAD BAD idea! The monorail come after just a little bit. But when we got to the TTC, they said that everyone had to go to the ferry since they were switching operators... So, we followed the masses over to the ferry. Which we had never done before. BUT it was so cold waiting on the ferry ride was cold too. The girls were just done! They wanted to be warm and in pjs. The Ferry took FOREVER!!!!

What I did find very interesting... The ferry load VERY close to the last bungalow at the Poly. Seriously, if I paid as much as those go for, I would NOT want a giant ferry close enough to me to talk to them!

Andy tried to take some nice pictures from the top level of the Magic Kingdom while I tried to keep the girls warm. Nighttime.jpg
This one came out ok but nothing amazing.

We got off the ferry and then had to wait a bit for the ferry to Wilderness Lodge. I think thankfully we got a closed ferry for our last legs. But I think we had to wait for a minute for the Water Parade to go by. Which was nice to see but at that point we just wanted to be back in the room. I think all in all it might have taken us an hour and a half to get back! It was long.

But we made it. They girls went to bed, and I packed up as much as I could. We needed to check out tomorrow. :(

Day Eight / Travel Day!

Hi, this might be a fairly short update. I don't have a tone of pictures. We seem to always be short on photos on the last day.

We packed up all of our stuff and managed to bring everything down to the lobby. We checked our bags in and left the carry ons with the desk. This took a little while, but we were on our away to Magic Kingdom not too late. Our flight wasn't till 7 or 8, so we had 3/4 of a day in the park. I think I gave up on getting to see the Welcome Show. I guess it will have to be for another day!

Our first stop today was Enchanted Tales with Belle. I love this "ride" It's one of my favorites. It had a bit of a wait this whole trip, so I made fast passes for it. I don't think it saved us a ton of time but I was glad to see the show!

I just love the magic mirror and how it transforms! It is still amazing to me. And the wardrobe talking is the BEST!
Wardrobe.jpg

Morgan was chosen for Mrs. Potts
Miss Pots.jpg

And Gwen was given a "leftover" part of a picture frame.
Gwen Frame.jpg

This is one of the best shots we have gotten of Lumiere. It is hard to get any good shots in here, with the no flash photography in here.
Lumiere.jpg

As you can see Morgan LOVED seeing Belle again.
Morgan SMiling.jpg

After the story was told and everyone played there part, you get to "meet" Belle. This very nice cast member bent down and tied Gwen's shoe!
Gwen Shoes tied.jpg

After Belle, we decided to divide and conquer. Morgan wanted to ride Haunted Mansion again and Gwen had been wanting to ride Winnie the Pooh. So, I took Gwen and Andy took Morgan. We agreed to meet at Rapunzel's bathrooms when we were done.

We decided to leave the stroller where it was at Enchanted Tales of Bell. Gwen and I headed over to Pooh. We have always ONLY gone on this ride with fast passes, so it was fun to "play" with the items in live. The wait wasn't too bad.

This was a GIANT Baby Toys.
Bee.jpg

And then the touch wall with the honey was pretty cool . Probably SUPER dirty.....
Honey.jpg

Found Pooh!
More Honey.jpg

Here is Morgan on Haunted Mansion just to proved they went on something else. ;)
Haunted Mansion.jpg

I think Pooh had a longer wait that HM, but they got stuck on the ride, so we actually met up just about the same time.

Up next my FAVORITE tradition that we have with each visit!

So, on our very first trip, the girls decided to dance in front of Rapunzel's Bathroom. Morgan had on a Rapunzel costume on and they had the music playing and they just danced and danced like Rapunzel did in the movie. It is one of my favorite moments from our first trip. True Disney magic that can't be planned for!

While this was happening DH was taking lots of photos and he snapped a photo of the girls in front of one of the "thugs" posters. (I think they may have JUST been hung up! The second time, the girls and DH thought about re-creating the photo pretty much at the same time, while waiting for my use the bathroom. So we HAD to take another photo.

Gwen I grabbed the stroller on the way from Pooh and met DH and Morgan here!
Rapunzel Bathroom _02.jpg
It really just is "The best Bathrooms EVER!!!"
Rupunzel Bathroom.jpg

This is my picture of DH taking the photo. ;)
Taking of the photo.jpg

And then the final result!

Annual Picture.jpg

And just for comparison, here all all 3 years. The girls do try to pose the same. It's kind of cute.
All 3 years.jpg

And our mini-photo opt, I think we decided to grab another Dole Whip! Yum!!!
Dole Whips.jpg

And took a quick spin on the Magic Carpets!
Carpet Ride.jpg

We must have stopped for lunch but I couldn't tell you where. Probably Pecos Bill's maybe? DH woke up not feeling well, and was REALLY hitting the wall about now. There was one more thing that we hadn't done before that DH and I wanted to do. The girls not so much... But we made them, since you know, we are in charge...

The Hall of Presidents! Morgan was doing a First Lady project at school, and we joked that this would count as homework.
Presidents_02.jpg

It was good. I don't think we need to see it each time we go, but it is pretty cool to see. I will like to go when it has a new president....
Presidents.jpg

After this, I think we hit Little Mermaid ride one last time and then started to head out. :(

We stopped at the Main Street Bakery, as we had a TON of snack credits left. I went shopping, picking out a bunch of items. I even had a couple counter service credits that I wanted to convert over to snack credits. This turned out to be a big event. but the "figured it out" Or so I thought. I picked out our stuff and we headed out.

We hopped on a ferry back to the hotel. It was getting pretty dreary out. Raining Leave.jpg

We got back to the hotel and we had what I thought was 2 counter service credits left. So, I went to get two meals from Roaring Fork for us to share. But when I went to pay, it turned out that they cashed in ALL of our counter service credits and left us with snack credits... Sign. So, I went over to the store and bought MORE snacks! I think I ended up with 16 snacks!!!!!

I tried re-packing all of our stuff, while DH returned the stroller. And then we went and waited outside for the Magical Express. For some reason I was really worried about missing it this time. We didn't. And soon we were on our way to the airport. :(

It was a great trip! Exhausting but great!

After we had our belly's full, we headed back to out gate. Our plane was a little late getting to the terminal. But they did a great job turning the place around and getting us all on and on our way.

View attachment 153993

We flew Southwest this time and I was a little nervous about the whole no assigned seating thing but we figured no adult is going to want to sit with a strangers kid, so we figured it would work out. And it did, we got a row of three, myself and the girls and DH just across the way.

View attachment 153992

The flight was a little bumpy. We had a bit of turbulence but nothing too bad. The girls watched a little Descendants on the plane.

View attachment 153995

And before we knew it we were in Florida! We got off the plane without any issues, just waited forever since we were pretty much in the back of the plane. And headed over to the Fake Monorail!

View attachment 153996

And over to the Magical Express.

View attachment 153997

It was late by now, so there wasn't too many people at Magical Express Check In. We breezed through and onto a bus. I didn't have time to take any photos while there. We were the last ones on our bus and left shortly after. And before we knew it we were seeing this lovely sign.

View attachment 153998

We arrived at Wilderness Lodge after a quick stop at the Polynesian to drop off those guests first. I pre-checked us into the hotel, so I had received a text that our room was ready and what room it was before we had even left New Jersey! We did need to grab our Garden Grocer groceries and Orlando Stroller from Concerge. The girls grabbed a couple cartoons while we waited.

View attachment 154001

Off to our room. I had requested to be on the side of the hotel closest to the quick service & the boat launch. Last trip, we had a great room on the other side of the hotel all the way at the end. So we were able to see the Electrical Night Water Parade from out room but it was literally the room farthest away from both quick service and the boats. And with a stroller, it was like the longest walk ever. I wanted to avoid at least some of that walk if possible. We were given a room on the Quick Service Side mid level. Which was fine with us.

When we got to our room, Magic Kingdoms fireworks started shortly after. And we discovered this!
View attachment 154003

View attachment 154004

View attachment 154005

We were super excited to be able to see the fireworks from our balcony. They were somewhat blocked by trees and all but still for no extra $$, I will take it. It was a nice way to cap off the day.

We booked a room with bunk beds. DH thought it would be fun for the girls. All I could image was them either fighting over who got to sleep on the top and who slept on the bottom. But it turned out that Morgan climbed up, claimed the spot then immediately "freaked" out at being too high up. So, Gwen was promoted to top bunk! She was hesitant at first but ended up loving it. After we got all settled. The girls went to bed, I unpacked us and DH just waited for our Magical Express Luggage to arrive. (Which we landed around 8:00 and our luggage came around 11:00)

Tomorrow we head to the Magic Kingdom!

Love reading your post about how you surprised your girls! We are leaving in 12 days and so far I haven't spilled the beans! Plan to surprise my guys in the car as well!

I love those pics in front of the poster by the Tangled bathrooms. SO incredibly cute and awesome to use the sign as a height marker for how tall they're growing! I have lots of pictures of my son from his first two trips of Disney but never even thought of doing something like this!! Now I am determined to scour through them all and find the best ones to recreate when we head to WDW in December.

Certainly did look dreary as you were leaving :(

They were just about to start the France movie, so we hoped in there to watch that. WOW! That movie is dated!!!

I adore that movie, dated and all. THe sound track is so delightful!!
OMG!!! This store is HUGE!!! It just kept going back and back and back!

It is SO big!! But I love it!!

But.... we decided to take the monorail back to Magic Kingdom and then take the ferry from there back to the hotel. BAD BAD BAD idea! The monorail come after just a little bit. BUT it was so cold waiting on the ferry ride was cold too. The girls were just done! They wanted to be warm and in pjs. The Ferry took FOREVER!!!!

UGH!! Sounds like a frustrating horrible sitation!
I just love the magic mirror and how it transforms! It is still amazing to me. And the wardrobe talking is the BEST!

Me too and I'm so sad it'll be down/not operating in Feb for my trip!
Morgan had on a Rapunzel costume on and they had the music playing and they just danced and danced like Rapunzel did in the movie. It is one of my favorite moments from our first trip. True Disney magic that can't be planned for!

THis just can't be planned or beat and a huge reason I keep going back. :goodvibes

How absolutely adorable!!

And you thought our jokes were corny! House-made Corn Pancakes, Beer-braised Pork, Roasted Corn, Fresno Pepper Salsa, and Avocado Cream
Usually this is what I get but I decided to try something different. These were good as always, although I have said many times, these aren't as good as they used to be.
Tofu, Seasonal Vegetables, and Rice Noodles tossed in a Spicy Soy-Chili-Garlic Sauce. A favorite of our friend Pamelia Perkins, Adventurer's Club President.
This was soooooo spicy!!! And I like Spicy things! It was crazy. I couldn’t eat that much becuase my mouth was on fire!!!! Andy picked at it a little and so did Miss L, who seemed to not be effected by the spice!
