For any contemplating a solo trip...JUST FREAKING DO IT. Just returned from my first ever solo trip. Took a lot of crap from people about; "how sad you don't have anyone to go with". Now I firmly believe the sadness rest with those that think they MUST have someone to go with to enjoy WDW.

I rode almost all the rides, saw multiple attractions. Cast members would give me high fives for going it alone. Longest wait time (single riders are almost fast-pass wait-time) was 60 min. Average was 20! Watching the shows I didn't have to seek out a section to accommodate several people just little ole me. Getting ressies for restaurants was a brease because a party of 1 is easier to accommodate then a multiple people. Best of all there was no coordination of schedules or preferences. I went where I wanted, when I want and for how long I wanted.

I'll say the only drawback to this trip was they were filming a episode of BLACKISH and it seemed like they were following me from park to park. Had 3 rides and my favorite bar (outside Tusker) was shut down due to filming. Disney should've provide some information on scheduling and I would have avoided those parks those days.

Again....if anyone is thinking about a solo trip I highly-greatly-genuinely say DO IT!

This is exactly me. I love my solo trips to the parks but when I tell people they look at me in pity that I have no one to go with me. Like you I just the freedom to choose what I want to do and when I want to do it. For example on my last solo trip to Disneyland Paris, I saw the fireworks at park closing, then went for a swim in my hotel at 9pm and finished the night with an expensive cocktail in the hotel bar. I cant wait for my next solo trip :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I've had so many CMs tell me how they admired me, especially when I went to my first character meal by myself.

I agree, I've taken 3 or 4 and am getting ready to go to F&W in Sept. solo. I travel alot by myself because my honey doesn't like to travel so I'm used to it.

Just got back from my first solo trip and I LOVED it! I was able to do everything I wanted to and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I wouldn't hesitate to book another solo trip (and probably will soon :) ).

I'm getting ready to head out on my 2nd WDW solo trip, and I can't WAIT! I love the ease and freedom of going solo. Rope drop? No sweat! Watch me weave in and out of those big parties and sidestep those strollers! Fireworks? I can squeeze in anywhere. Ditto for parades. Can't beat that!!!

I have to admit, I prefer going solo. I get to do what I want, when I want, and as many times as I want. Glad you had a good time.

<<<7th solo trip coming up in November. I simply love going alone. I go from place to place when I want. This time around I am trying a couple new restaurants as well.

I'm on my 3rd solo trip right now. If it wasn't for this on and off again storm, I still wound be out but had a blast doing a tour today, and just taking thing at my own pace. Lots of people watching, enjoying spontaneous conversation, and not rushing from ride to ride.

Glad you had a great time! Solo trips really are the best. If I'm not traveling with my sister, I prefer to go alone so I don't have to do something I'm not interested in, haha! I'm less than 60 days away from my first solo cruise, and I'm fully prepared for the looks of pity, but in reality, those people are just insecure and uncomfortable with themselves. I know people who won't even go to the movies by themselves...where you're sitting in the dark, not speaking, so...

I agree 100%. I absolutely adored my recent three night solo trip...I'm actually a little worried that I'm gonna start to get spoiled and enjoy my family/friend trips a bit less. What a strange worry! But solo trip are just so peaceful and laid back-no worries. But after three nights, I was kind of missing conversation about my great experiences, especially like the new Soarin and Frozen...heading out again for Food and Wine with my best girl friend in a few weeks-looking forward to that too, but I will never hesitate to book solo.

I know what you mean about being spoiled. I actually look forward to my solo trips than ones where I have a travel partner. I end up talking to people throughout any of my trips, but I do know what you mean about missing a conversation, especially at the end of the day when you are unwinding at a resort.

Agreed, all my friends look at me like I have two heads when i say I am planning a solo trip, but it is just something I want to do. I think only true Disney fans will get it. I can't wait to do my own thing, when I want, now long I want. I think the only thing I will miss is the games section after Mission Space, an experience that we as a family love and spend hours doing, not sure I will do that. But everything else for sure, super excited for.

Saving saving saving, almost half way there....

I leave for my first solo trip in a week. I'm a smidge worried but also super excited about being able to do what I want. I'm always playing tour guide at the parks, and waiting eons for people to catch up, and having to go on rides I dislike. I can totally understand becoming spoiled on a solo trip!

I am going on my first solo Disney trip in October First time solo trip ever really, except for driving between MI and PA alone. I'm excited to see what all I can see too, going at my own pace. I can't wait. Although I'm sure I will miss my daughter and grandkids some. They're a lot of fun. We usually travel together to Disney but I'll Skype them at night and fill them in.

YES to all of this.

Also, people always say that to me "Awww...don't you have anyone to go with?" I don't know! I didn't ask anyone. lol I think the same thing. How sad for THEM that they can't go anywhere alone.

Went solo back in '07 while on business. Loved it. I had just been there with the family a month or so earlier, so I didn't feel the need to go on anything. I just wandered, ate, and took in the sights that I don't normally get to do with other people in tow.

Came back from 2 week solo trip last week staying at POP, and I loved it!! It was my first time going there solo (in fact my first time solo anywhere abroad!), and even though the people I had been with before were easy going enough, I had the most fun on this trip!! Staying in the parks for as long as you want, and just being spontaneous to do anything you fancy at the drop of a hat was great! You meet a lot of people too which is nice, everyone is so friendly! I'm already planning my next solo trip for May and am literally counting the hours! One of the best decisions I've made in my life so far I have the freedom to go again anytime I want now without having to try and rope someone in to coming with me (which seems pretty impossible anyway tbh) To those of you who are going on your first solo trip.. You will have the BEST time!! Enjoy!
