Refund after applying discount code

I am looking for advice as to if anyone has had an experience like this. I had paid off completely a room only reservation (not a package). Then I was later able to apply a discount code to the reservation, which resulted in a negative balance on my room only reservation.

I have called a few times to get this negative balance refunded to me but keep being told "it will take up to two billing cycles to see the refund". Now, I know this may be true for seeing it on a paper bill in the mail, but I can clearly view my credit card online daily and see that no refund has been applied. It's been just over a month now but same story when I call. Anyone have any luck getting a refund of a negative balance or have any tips?

Thank you!

I would ask them to tell you the date the refund was processed on their end.

If that gets you nowhere ask to be transferred to billing.

I keep seeing conflicting information about this. I am waiting to pay my balance until discounts come out because I was under the impression they wouldn't refund for a discounted rate. Is it common for them to refund you? What if you booked a package rather than room only?

Last year, I had booked a room only and paid the required one night deposit. I was later able to change the nightly rate thru the online system, due to a discount being released. They did not refund the difference to me, nor did I request a refund, the original deposit amount just remained credited to my account. Again, I was not paid in full.

It makes me wonder if the OP will get a refund, or if the overage will just remain credited to their account assuming that they will have additional charges to pay at checkout?

I also had to cancel a room only reservation last year and the refund appeared on my credit card statement with 5 business days.

Wait for it. We get our refunds within two billings cycles. Disney won't steal from you...till you get there :dog2:

If you book a package the only option is a refund. I've never heard of them refusing a refund and I issued plenty when I worked for the resorts. It has to be manually done, so I've heard of issues with it but with the amount of refunds actually issued it ends up being a very small percentage.

Room only is the only reservation type that can have a "room credit." If you don't call and request a refund that's how it will stay. If you call and request it to be refunded, they will.

I haven't worked there since the ability to modify online, so I'm going to assume that it automatically goes on as a room credit until someone manually changes it.
