With all the construction, when are you going?

Fall of 2017 if it looks like Pandora will be open. Then not again until 2019 or 2020.

We'll be going this November, and I'm hoping to talk hubby into adding Orlando to our Miami trip next May. He doesn't like being away from work two weeks in a row, but agreed to it in November because we haven't been since January 2013. I'm kind of sad to lose the Streets of America, but we're looking forward to all the Star Wars stuff. Don't feel like the construction at Animal Kingdom has changed anything significantly. Looking forward to seeing Rapunzel's bathroom and the Mine Train, which weren't open last time.

Construction was not a factor in our decisions at all; I'd like to visit Disney World (although not necessarily the parks) every odd year.

We've done this - visited every odd year since 2009. Disney is expensive, but we do love it. We also have lots of other travel interests to fit into our schedule.

No impact for us. If anything it just helps me shift my focus to concentrate on fewer areas. There is just so much to do! My DD now really loves the water parks so we might skip AK completely next trip to allow time for both of those.

No impact on us either.
We're going in Nov and Jan......then off to Disneyland for a few trips in 2017 (not because of construction but because we alternate years)

Going as often as possible. I hadn't been on the Backlot tour in years and was one and done with Lights Motors Action years ago. FOTLK has moved, so nothing is lost at AK during the construction.

Sorry to hear that chronic lymphocytic or myeloid leukemia is pretty draining, I'll keep your family in my prayers! Hope you make magical memories next year

Thank you. He has the Lymphocytic type, and is not doing too badly at the moment...

My last trip was the first week of Nov. 2015, for the F&W festival. After that trip I was like "Oh, I'll wait a few years before going again. I'll wait until they finish Star Wars land and maybe Avatar land finally opens."

Last week I booked a trip for next month. Again, for F&W fest. I just can't stay away. There is too much I enjoy regardless of construction. And it seems there's always construction somewhere at WDW anyway.

I'm Disney Park crazy - construction has zero impact on way I go except for when I try to go for the opening of something - had a blast at the opening ceremony of Fantasyland.

I'm an AP holder, now DVC member and go solo alot. My family doesn't enjoy Disney World like I do.

For a family trip, we are thinking San Francisco next summer so I'll have to squeeze in a day at the Walt Disney Family Museum for my summer Disney fix.

After last year, we had decided not to go back until after construction. We always go the week before Christmas. Then they streamed the New Years Fireworks live, and sold us again. Just the firework shows are worth the trip to us. We were getting disappointed in the reductions this year, so I sent an email expressing my disgust. They called back last week, reducing our package price. Kids a really too small for US right now, so WDW is still ago.

I'm going to echo what others have said. DHS is not being demolished or nearly demolished. It is a small area of the park that only housed 2 attractions and 2 meet and greets.
The backlot tour, LMA, and Streets of America is not a small area. Sure the land didn't hold much in terms of number of attractions but these attractions took up huge amounts of space. Also a lot of backstage area is being used for the new stuff so an incredibly large area of the park is under construction.

My take is don't let construction impact your travel. If you have the means to go now go. Then you can save up and go again later if you want. People say I'm waiting for Star Wars or toy story. Well what if Disney announces something for 2021-22 at D23 next year? Are you going to push that back again? Things are always going to be under construction or changing. Don't let that affect your trip if you want to go.

Why is there a new thread every day about the status of Hollywood Studios? I can't believe how overblown the whole thing is. 98% of what people go to HS for is still there.

What I meant to say was that there were only a few attractions that people could enjoy on the Streets of America area. Not neccesarily the actual land size. I know that a lot of backstage areas will be redone but guests didn't really get to enjoy those areas when streets was open

I have a thread on the rumors and news board for specific DHS construction updates and news.

I understand but you said it's a small area of the park which really it isn't. I like what we're getting instead of what we had but just want to keep the facts straight about what's going on. I'm not trying to be rude or anything if this comes across like that.
