Are you addicted to traveling?

YES!! But unfortunately right now my health is putting a crimp in my style lol. That and my hubby started new job so not as many trips as I would like. We have one plan in Oct and Jan and then probably not till the summer of 2017. But I force 2018 being an all out crazy travel year lol

I was, we were taking 3 or 4 trips a year and then we decided to sell and build a new home.
We have put all our vacation funding into the house and new furnishings, which I am thrilled about but I am going through cruise withdrawal so badly right now.
We have 2 planned in April, I am counting down the minutes.

No, but I probably would be if I had someone to travel with me, and more disposable income.

I'm addicted to the IDEA of it, but I don't actually DO all that much traveling.

Edit: I really have no idea what next Summer's vacation will be & that feels odd - especially after a repeat trip THIS year.

I traveled a lot when I was a single mom with a small child, then as he started to get older school would require we slow down. Then I met my honey, who hates to travel. Then we got into scuba diving and we started taking 2 or 3 dive trips a year. Mean while my son grew up, got married, joined the Navy and moved away. Then we got a puppy. Now my son is back home, out of the Navy and divorced and disabled but back in college so trips with him have to work around his school schedule. Scuba diving has been put on the back burner because we have a yorkie who can not be boarded since all the local places don't have facilities for tiny dogs and she is so submissive she can't be put in groups with little dogs. She is never alone since Honey works from home so boarding her somewhere that leaves her alone all day except occasional half hour visits from staff won't work. We would love to have a house sitter but that service is not available in our community. My son could come stay but we live out in the country and he doesn't like to have to drive so far in and out of town and since he's in school and works part time, he wouldn't be home except just to sleep and that wouldn't work. Now my travelling is limited to two trips to WDW every year, usually solo unless my son can get off school and honey agrees to keep his two dogs, and the occasional long weekend trip to the Georgia coast.
Contact vet clinics in your area and ask if they have any techs who offer in-home petsitting services (in either their home or yours). Techs are underpaid, so this is a common way for them to earn some side cash.

We go on 1 or 2 trips a year and do all of the research and booking ourselves. I really enjoy it. Mostly we travel in the US including cruises to Alaska and Hawaii but have been on a few cruises to the Western Caribbean and Bahamas plus visited a few cities in Canada.

indeed I am! Always loved to travel and see new things, but we limited most of it to wherever we could get on a car ride with young kids.... then I discovered travel hacking....and we have traveled to so many wonderful places(some multiple times, like Disney) and it becomes a habit to have another trip booked somewhere,al the time! Even if it's months away...I like to dream, and plan. Heck a few months back I sent DH into a panic when I called him at work and said'Do you want to go to Iceland, and England and Paris? I can get us there for cheap for 10 days!"..... he just about had a heart attack at the thought.... anyway we ended up planning a fun US based vacation for early winter instead, since my fam wasn't excited about Hawaii(???!!!???) but I like the idea of another DL visit on our travels..... and I love seeing the many wonderful things there are to see, even if DH doesn't want to do Europe yet....
I'm addicted to travel hacking. I've racked up over a million travel points and miles which I use for first class flights abroad and luxury hotels. It's amazing.

Hi :wave2: fellow travel hackers!

I love to travel and thanks to travel hacking am able to do so way more often than I would have been able to without travel hacking. We also have racked up a couple of million miles and points which we use to to fly in first class. Currently, we are planned out until about 2021. We usually do 1 to 2 big trips a year and then several long weekend trip ones throughout the year and lots of weekend get aways at WDW, especially during F&W. Over the summer we went to Ireland and followed that up with the inaugural Adventures by Disney river cruise. Next weekend we will be on the Dream over the holiday. Thanksgiving we are going to Las Vegas and then after Christmas we will be on Adventures by Disney's Winter in Wyoming. Next year will be our first trip to Hawaii followed by a few days at DLR, then Italy with Adventures by Disney, Scotland over the 4th of July and Iceland over Thanksgiving.

The planning is fun and challenging when it comes to finding the flights using miles. The endless amounts of time on Trip Advisor and reading travel blogs. At least the Adventures by Disney trip we don't have to plan except for flights and pre or post stays. The rest is like a second job sometimes. The experiences and the memories make it all worth it in the end!

Not addicted, no; but we vacation (in a substantial way) once or twice a year and we consider those times very, very precious. I spend a fair bit of time on travel sites on-line and see it as a hobby. We don't always have a trip booked but I am always keeping my eye out for the next opportunity. We expect to get most of our travelling done before we retire; there's only a couple more destinations left on our (modest by many standards) "dream list". After those I guess we'll start re-visiting trips we particularly loved.

Yes, I'm addicted to traveling. For the past year mainly just short weekend trips. No big trips since last Thanksgiving going to WDW.

I also spend a lot of time "dreaming" of going on trips to really cool places. It's a lot cheaper that way.

Hope to visit WDW again at Thanksgiving or Christmas this year, but it might be a last minute planning trip.

We are a bit different - since we've had kids we travel all over. Our family just got back from country #6 last week, and we've got country #7 planned for next year. We started traveling internationally when our youngest turned four, she's now 7. The other two are 9 and 10 years old.

For us, it's about giving the kids a good worldview and exposing them to all different sorts of environments - neither DH nor I travelled at all when we were growing up because we both grew up in poverty, and it's exciting to us to be able to provide an opportunity for our kids that we didn't have ourselves. Plus, all the kids LOVE to travel so it's fun to go with them.

This is me. I always have trips in my head but we don't go that often. We probably do a bigger trip every 2 years but I try to get in one local getaway every year.

I just went back to work after being a SAHM for many years. My plan is to use the extra income for more travelling especially now that the kids are getting older. We just got back from a getaway last week and I am already thinking of the next one.
