I have 2 Undercover Tourist park tickets. One under my name, the other under Guest One on MDE. Thinking of upgrading the Guest One tkt to AP, but not use it till the next year. Is that possible?

(I did a search, but couldn't find any post with this question)

When you upgrade your ticket to an AP, it will expire one year from the date of first use of the original ticket I believe. So if you enter the park on 8/26/16 with that ticket, and then upgrade on day 3 of the ticket 8/28/16, it will expire on 8/26/17 (inclusive).

You could upgrade the ticket to an AP certificate (basically an inactive AP) if it's unused and you don't plan to use the resulting pass right away. This will confuse the heck out of some CMs.

If the ticket is partially used, you can upgrade it, but the AP will expire a year from the first date of use on the ticket.

I believe you have to use the ticket once before you can upgrade to AP. If i remember what i've read correctly

Not true.

The "guest one" ticket will not be used on this upcoming trip, so want to upgrade it to AP for 2017/2018 trips. I know I will have to have a name on it, but didn't want to make it a ticket. Just so it won't be used by mistake on this coming trip. Will ask at GS for upgrade to AP certificate. If they can't do it, then I will just wait till 2017.

Thanks.

This year's AP price vs next year's

I'm confused. Don't you pay the stated price when you purchase the AP Voucher versus the price when you activate the voucher? I bought 3 AP Vouchers months ago, and paid the going price. We will activate & use them in October. No additional cost if the price goes up. What am I missing?

I meant that they save the price increase from this year's AP price to next year's AP price. You do get the price of the tickets bridged to next year's price as well but there is always the chance that ap's will increase more than tickets

Yes. This.

Based on every ticket price increase of the past, the AP price will go up much more than the price of the MYW ticket.

Anyone know if I need to bring the plastic 8day ticket to do the exchange? The tkt is on my MDE listed as guest one.

Bring a piece of RFID media linked to the same MDX profile as the ticket - a plastic card or MagicBand. If you don't have one of those, you'll need the will call confirmation number for us to find the ticket. There are other options on our end but these are the easiest ways that will waste the least of your time.

I have 2 UT tickets that I had planned on upgrading to AP's on our next trip around July 1. As Disney is offering an extra month for tickets bought before January 3, I'd like to buy the certificates before January 3 but still use the tickets. As of now, they aren't linked in MDE but I could if it would help in using them as partial payment. I could also send them by certified mail to a CM in the ticket department (after taking pictures of both sides of both tickets in case they are lost). If it is impossible to use the UT tickets, can I apply them to renewing the AP's when they expire around August, 2018. I plan on being at the parks the month of July.
