Memory Maker or can I purchase pics individually?

I am looking into Memory Maker but if I don't want every trip picture and just want to purchase a few that I like, can I go without buying it and purchase them individually?

Is Memory Maker worth it?

You buy what you want. The whole package or one or two. They show you what was taken and explain the entire process to you.

Yes you can buy individual photos. I believe their about $15 a photo.

Another option is if you can an AP then you get photopass included which is the same as memory maker. So you can all the downloads you want for the full year

I was wondering the same thing as well, however, we definitely went with the Memory Maker. For $15 a pop, I'm not with it! The pricing for the Memory Maker and the absurd amounts of photos I can have taken will be worth it. If I only got 149 photos, it would be $1 per photo. I'd rather take pictures everywhere and pay less than pay for 10 photos and end up paying more.

*grumbles* $15.

I think it's actually $16 a photo right now. Other options are 1 day memory maker (will only appear after your trip if you do not have memory maker already) that gives you all the photos from 1 specific day.. I think that's around $45ish. Then the pre and post memory maker price.

$16 sounds hefty but it really depends on what your looking for. If you want 1 photo from each park of everyone in an iconic location, $16 each is the cheapest way unless you run to all 4 parks in 1 day just to take the photo. If you want to really do it up then memory maker is where it makes sense, especially if your looking for ride photos..

One thing to note, if your staying there for over a week you might want to price out what getting 1 person an annual pass would cost. You'd get free downloads of everything, plus AP discounts on both merch, some food and possibly room. There has been some really nice discounts later so you might actually save some money if you upgraded at least 1 person to annual pass. Normally I wouldn't bring this up but discounts have been rather plentiful lately and you might luck out if you do your homework.

One Day Memory maker is $59 and you can buy two 1-Day Memory Makers ($120), just make sure you're activating the right days one at a time.

If you have the app and buy prints at the stations on Property then make sure to have them scan your app QR code and any prints you buy, that watermark will come off and you get the digital copy as well. But as everyone above is saying, it's about $15 per digital download online.

I have an AP but it was before the price increase so I don't have photo pass or memory maker or whatever they are calling it now. We always just bought a single photo or maybe two at max. We had a tradition of standing in front of the hat at HS, my son would even wear the same shirt which through the years had to be split in places so he could fit into it. It was fun to see how we changed through the years. Alas, the hat is no longer there so we just don't even bother any more. I did splurge one trip and get a cup made with the picture of my son, his wife and myself in front of the hat. Wouldn't you know it they got divorced and it was a nasty one so, cup in trash, lesson learned. I do wish I could get it removed from my AP and get the AP for less.

How many of those photos do you actually get processed and framed? Sure, I had 400+ photos from our last family trip. Take out the extras Jedi training and Enchanted Tales with Belle and we're down to maybe 100. And of those, we had 4 of each pose; so maybe 25 unique scenes. Do I really need to hoard them all? Between offices and grandparents and our living room, I'd be surprised if 8 of those actually end up in a frame. We tend to pay by the picture.

My gears are turning, free parking since we will be off site most of this trip may be what it takes to really make the AP a deal.

I was going to share a tip but wanted to make sure it is still current.

Can you still ask the Disney photographer to take a picture with your own camera after they take the MM pictures?

I got MM (or whatever it was called before) on my first trip but didn't find it that useful. I asked them to use my camera (after they took their shots that were linked to the MB) next trip and skipped MM, thought I ended up buying I think 1 picture from the website when making an album.

Yes - they will take pictures with your phone, but you won't get magic shots. Depends on if those are important to people

It's a very good deal for anyone who wants to put the photos in an album or who likes to scrapbook. I had about 800 photos after taking out Jedi/ETwB photos and I plan to print about 50-100 for scrapbooking.

That is a great idea and we have already calculated AP vs Tickets alone. We are only going for 5 days and staying on property so it doesn't look like a good deal for our situation.

We don't have any framed photos of ourselves in our home at the moment. We are bad about not taking pictures of ourselves when we go on adventures. In May, we went to London and we were determined to get pictures of ourselves. We tried really hard to take selfies or ask strangers. Our friends really enjoyed seeing our pictures on social media and we got lots of positive comments about it but we aren't good at selfies so we thought MM might help us get better pics.

If that is the case, that sounds like the winner right there! We aren't opposed to asking strangers either.

We have found it well worth it. You get all the pictures you want and the added benefit of some ride photos and video that are automatically taken and linked to your account, if you are wearing a magic band. We have some great video from seven dwarfs mine train.

We have never purchased Memory Maker (it started long after DS was a teenager) and I always managed to find a CM who would take shots with my own camera. But the last trip I did buy 5 ride pictures using my Disney Visa $ which were about to expire. The pictures were fairly good although the cameras were not always positioned to show all riders equally. But again, I wouldn't have bought them unless I had those spare $ to spend!

I was looking at the annual pass. It may make sense for us to upgrade just for the 2 short trips & 1 long trip we may take this year. Is there a difference between Memory Maker and PhotoPass?

Memory Maker newbie here...so you buy it and then you can download and the pics are yours to keep? You can print them at your local Walmart or wherever? Ride pics too? Thanks!
