2016 Disneyland Paris Half Marathon

Forced to make the horrible decision to pull out of the half marathon. I've been battling chest infections and muscles spasms in my back and I've had to say enough is enough.

Cannot defer but I can transfer my bib to someone else. I know this is a long shot but if anyone is interested in my bib (and my friend's who is relocating countries) it would be great to have my space go to someone. Don't want any money for them.

Hi Nicky,

If the offer stands, I have a friend who was interested in running with me, but she wasn't able to get a entry back in Feb. she was going to try for the bib-only.

Let me know if this still stands

Thanks

Hi. Sorry I've had two people already ask me from Run DV on Facebook. I hope she gets one when they release them.

Hi!

I really want to get a pin at the expo, but I'll arrive Friday afternoon. Anyone know if there is a pre-order site?? Or anyone who knows from the American races how fast pins sell out, if even do sell out???
Thanks!

Hi! In my experience at the American races, it depends on how many people preorder them with their registration. And then some sell out and some are left.

That said, this Paris race is totally new, so it's impossible to know what to expect, since there weren't any preorders and we've never seen a Disneyland Paris race expo!

We just added Thursday night to our Disneyland Paris stay (we'll be in Paris from Sunday to Wednesday prior) so we can get to the Expo opening on the first day (Thursday 3pm) - let us know if there's anything you're looking for and we'll report out here on what queues are like, photos of items for sale, etc - as ChrisNY2 said it's the first RunDisney race expo in Paris.

Just checking in here. We still need to get our hotel and park tickets. I hadn't even thought about ADR's yet... thanks for all the tips. Keep them coming!

BTW, I'd love to do a meet on Sunday afternoon if anyone is available.

Yikes it's a bit late for hotel. On property is almost all booked. We're off property but booked last year, so not sure how booked up it is locally

We didn't do ADRs. We will play it by ear, maybe check with guest services in the mornings to see what's available and work round it. There's apenoigh about that if we need to cope with QS most of the time we can.

More entries are available on RunDisney Paris' site this morning, although the purchase process is very confusing. We had already set up the half marathon, so just wanted to add two registrations to the 5k. It looked like it was €29 per 5k, plus taxes/fees, but when I checked out it also threw in an extra €69 charge for no apparent reason. I went ahead with it, did anyone else get this strangeness? Also had to go through several hoops to get it to accept a credit card, it declined two cards I tried (fraud protection I assume, once I cleared one of them with the credit card company, the charge went through).

We weighed the options of the multi-day tickets (with the promo on the DLP site) and the Dream Annual Pass and it is around a $60 difference, since we are there for four days. I am a proponent of annual passes and like having them. Plus, if I get a long weekend or some killer airfare, its one more reason to jump the pond.
I'm not the one in charge of accommodations, but we had something booked (with free cancellation) before registration was close to opening up. In case we didn't get bibs.

As for Sunday afternoon, I plan on being in Paris, for the Sans Voitures (Without Cars) event/thing. I will be pack in the parks to wrap up the trip before closing on Sunday, though.

I just booked the hotel for the weekend. We are staying at our regular hotel in Champs sur Marne. I was just waiting for the prices to come down, which has now happened. Now the race weekend can come.

It sounds like you were charged for another half marathon which is €69. I would phone and check that they haven't added another to your order.

Quick question - since I'll assume that this race will be similar (if not identical) to the rest of the Disney domestic races and we'll be lined up insanely early, do the European events adhere to the same discarded (donated) warming gear in the corrals pre-race?

I always have a donate-able shirt on to stay warm (or dry) pre race and then simply hang it on a rail right before we start. The Orlando/Anaheim parks simply collect and donate those garments.

I have no idea if it will be warm, cold or raining ... But I like to plan ahead!

I don't think anybody knows as this will be the first race. However, given recent events in France, I would be extremely cautious about leaving anything behind. This may just cause a security alert.

I would assume so. At every race I've done in Europe, people have left sweatshirts and other items hanging on the barriers around the corrals. I don't see why this race would be any different.

Does anyone know how it works with towels after or during the race? I know water is provided, but what about towels?
