How do you celebrate your anniversaries?

We were married in September and headed to Disney for our honeymoon. Our first was a small dinner at home, followed by our daughter being born two days later. Our fifth was a night away from the kids and an evening at a casino boat. Tenth was a weekend at a state park inn. The next ten just whizzed by in a blur. Probably just dinner at home or maybe out. For our twentieth, we returned to Disney a few months early without the kids. Then in December, my husband's sister treated us to a week in Hawaii. This year is our 25th. We will be going back to Disney in October. It's a lot easier to do now that the kids are (mostly) grown.

My husband and I will be celebrating our 1st anniversary in Disney this October. We have a dinner planned and thats all for now.

How do you celebrate your anniversaries, either in Disney or not? Look back at photos from your wedding? Photos from the past year? See how far you've come in a year?

Just a random thought I had and wanted to see how everyone celebrates another year!
Let's just say that, if it was up to me, I'd celebrate anniversaries, birthdays and even my own funeral at Disney! (scatter my ashes there, please....if it was only possible). Sadly, my spouse is not fond of going to Disney. He went once with me to WDW and one to Disneyland and that was pretty much it, so I am jealous that BOTH of you love Disney. And I did go for my birthday, but since it is March 9, right on Spring Break, it was VERY crowded, so not doing that again. Celebrating your anniversary at Disney is definitely magic!

DVC was my wedding present from DH, so we've spent every anniversary in Disney World. :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc We do a special dinner on our anniversary night (Yachtsman and Flying Fish are my favorites), and every 5th year I get our bride and groom Mickey ears from our honeymoon back out and I decorate them with the time (5 years, 10 years, etc). This October will be 15 years so the hats get to come back out!! :teeth:

Our first wedding anniversary just passed in June. We celebrated with a nice dinner out. We're planning to do a trip on our 5th anniversary. Possibly Disney, but maybe Hawaii. We'll see in 4 years! I did pull out our albums (we have 3 photo albums and a scrapbook) and looked at them. We were married at WDW, and our families and friends had the best time. We love that people sent cards or brought up the wedding and how much fun it was. It makes our memories even more special.

just had are 39th in June, think maybe we told each other happy anniversary,,, just another day,,, I would get her flowers but then she would gripe at me(not the word I was going to use, but it's the Dis) about wasteing money on flowers... we don't get each other birthday presents either... if we get each other christmas presents it's usually something we both want....

It starts by waking up and viewing our photo album together. We review the previous year and our happy moments together. It's about being in love. We usually spend a nice meal together celebrating our love for one another. Many years it was cooked at home, or at a local restaurant. As life goes on, we have been about to get away and celebrate our anniversary. Our most recent Anniversaries have been at Disney World. We enjoy a great meal at Narcoossee's and viewing the fireworks at Wishes. There's nothing better than strolling hand in hand having the time of our lives!
This year, it will be 36 years! Can't wait to return to the Food and Wine festival, rides, great meals, and entertainment and celebrate another great year.

We have celebrated our last three anniversaries at WDW. Our next one, our 43rd, will also be done at WDW. We get our pins and the pleasure of just being together for that entire week without any interruption from the modern world is just wonderful. The fun of walking through the parks for that week, hand in hand and being wished a happy anniversary is great fun. After 43 years, it's not the wedding photos, or the memories of your life together-it's the fact that you are together and making new memories that makes for a lasting marriage. We are a couple that never has to say "remember when", we are always looking forward to tomorrow.

This will be our 6th anniversary and we'll be spending a week at WDW with a dinner the night of our actual anniversary. We've planned a trip each year so far for each anniversary, my husband is a teacher so things always seem to happen in the summer for us. :love1:

Update! We now will be taking the Keys to the Kingdom Tour the day of our anniversary! I AM SO EXCITED!! I've done it before a few years ago but my husband has not and I know he will enjoy it! What a better way to spend our anniversary than under the Magic Kingdom!:cool1:

We were married in Oct and went to WDW on our honeymoon.
For the past 12 years ( after becoming DVC members) we have gone to Disney for our anniversary. Its always been great.

Got married in WDW last August, going to DL for our first anniversary. I got hubby a little something special too, plus Disney just reminded me that they owe us an album of our wedding photos so I'm going to order that this week - maybe it will arrive by the time we get home from our trip :confused3 that would be a nice treat!

We've spent MANY anniversaries at WDW, and usually don't do much special. However, for our 25th anniversary we went to a "pick a pearl" place. I picked the setting (we chose a ring, but a necklace would be another choice) DH chose the oyster, then they put it together. Since I didn't have a diamond engagement ring, this is it. For our 30th, we had a lovely dinner at Artist Point. We ordered a custom anniversary cake, and AP gave us a free champagne toast and personalized menus.

We also just had our 39th in June. Going to Disney to celebrate our 40th. A little early - this December. We own a bed and breakfast inn, so can't go in June. Too busy! Our first trip together alone. All the rest were with our kids, friends, etc.

We go out to dinner usually, unless we happen to be on a trip then we consider the whole thing to be the celebration. I'd say most days one of us mentions how lucky we are and without kids we are treated to things pretty frequently, so a dinner out and congrats from the waiter is plenty. For our 5th we are heading to maui in a week (we were married on Maui) but we are "celebrating" a month early, lol! On our actual day we'll both go to work and go have dinner at our favorite izakaya (Japanese pub) I bet. :)

On our first anniversary we did the traditional eat some of the top of our wedding cake but we're waaaaaay past that now lol. This year was 22 years for us in July but since 2007 we put off celebrating until the fall. We do a disney trip during food and wine. We book signature meals and some of the food and wine special events (5 different things this year in fact...the most ever). We do the parks but it's all at a much more laid back pace. We approach it more like a relaxed honeymoon compared to when we would go ride ride ride with the kids as they were growing up. Sept 22nd here we come :)

Honeymooned at WDW, and we will be celebrating our 20th there next year!

As for other years, I know we went to a bed and breakfast for our 2nd, a weekend in NOLA for another, and a couples massage at Aveda for our 10th. As for the rest, who knows, but one thing I know is that we always have a dinner out (or brought back home)...the first rule of fight club, um, anniversaries, is I never cook (same goes for birthdays, Valentine's, and Mother's Day).

Love the ideas floating around on here though...may have to add some to our weekend escape next year...

We try to go somewhere every anniversary. This year is our 10th anniversary 10/21 and we are celebrating it with a day at our favorite park Hollywood studios. His choice of restaurant for lunch: trex. Mine for dinner: boathouse. We plan to ride rocking Rollercoaster as many times as possible. At least 10 times for our 10th anniversary.

We were married in October as well and Honeymooned at WDW. We have been many times since then, but try to make it back for the every 5 year milestone anniversaries! On our 25th we managed to make it to Disneyland Paris! This year is our 30th, we are once again going back to WDW.

10/21 is our anniversary! such a great day! We got married last year on 10/21/15 which is "Back To The Future" day. Its the day they went into the future in the movie!! haha we didn't do anything special pertaining to the movie but we like it.
