Disney Movies

We did a lot, and I mean a lot, of shopping when we went to WDW in April and it just now dawned on me that I never ever saw any Disney Movies for sale anywhere.

It could be that I just wasn't paying attention (if you ask my wife, this is always the case).

Are there stores, or even a store, that sell Disney Movies on property?

When we go back in January I would love to be able to buy some of my favorites like The Sword in The Stone and The Jungle Book. Possibly even Swiss Family Robinson if it can be found on DVD or Blu-ray.

Once Upon a Toy used to have Disney books and movies.

Swiss Family Robinson was selling at Costco a few months back. Jungle Book and Sword in the Stone are currently available. I'' not sure where Disney is on putting things in the vault anymore.

I think the only vault they are currently putting anything in is the bank vault :p

I'll have to look around at Costco. I looked at Walmart and target. There's a ton of them I want, all the classic "boyhood" cartoons. I would really love a copy of Robinhood too.

Why wait until you go back to WDW in January? You can find those movies on Amazon, and probably for less than you would pay at Disney.

There's plenty of Disney movies currently in the vault - I can think of Bambi, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Lion King and Lady and the Tramp just off the top of my head.

I'm not necessarily going to wait until I go back but I would love to be able to walk into a store and see everything Disney Movie in there.

I'm not really into on line shopping, searching through web pages doesn't have the same feel to me as physically being in a store and buying it.

But I probably will meander around amazon now that you've told me this.

I just got my Disney movie collection caught up via Ebay. DVDs were new, and none (even some "in the vault"), we're more than $8 and shipping was free.

I would agree with checking Ebay first. I have found movies that I could not find in the stores. Best Buy online shows 25 pages of Disney movies.

Oliver and Company was at Costco a week or two ago.

or join the disney movie club. They're doing 4 for a dollar right now. You have to commit to buying 4 full price over the next 2 years, but if you're looking to build your collection its a good way to go. We just joined and got both movies you mentioned, as well as some other favorites.

I looked into that last night. Will probably join on Friday

Yep, I've been a member for years, and they do have some exclusive titles. Also, once you've fulfilled your initial commitment, you become a VIP and get special deals like buy one at full price, and each additional movie is 40% off.

just pay attention to your emails for the featured title offer each month. You have to decline it if you don't want it, otherwise you get charged for it and sent to you anyway. I actually did want this months, it was the jungle book (both editions) and it came with a free lithograph from the new one. Which if you haven't seen it, I thought it was amazing!
It is the best way to build a collection if you ask me! They have a pretty good online selection. Although I wonder if Netflix is really getting EVERYTHING disney owns, because that is a lot of content. And if they do, will the price go up? Even if they do get everything, I do like owning the physical movies.

I'm looking forward to becoming a VIP member. I love being a member so far!

The Emporium on Main Street always had movies, even going back to the late 70's and early 80's when they used to carry Super 8 Disney films! Did you check there? Also, like some suggested, the Disney Movie Club is really great. When you join, you get 4 movies for a dollar, plus you can buy a fifth one for a low price and it counts as a commitment and, if you want, add a sixth one for something like 50% off. If you join on-line, you can make your selections from any of the movies they sell (rather than the selections on their pamphlet, which are minimal).
