Grocery Stores on the way/near to Universal and Disney

Hi everyone,

Our family will be renting a car/driving from Tampa Airport (TPA) to Universal/Portofino. We will be spending 3 nights at Universal - then head from Universal to Disney World for 7 nights. We'd like to pick up some groceries on our way to both destinations.

Can you please recommend a higher end/nice grocery store either near Universal (or even between TPA and Universal) - and - can you please recommend the same between Universal and Disney?

Name/address would be appreciated.

There is a nice Publix 2 miles from Portofino hotel. Kirkman Oaks shopping center

Are there any other choices, or is Publix at Kirkman Oaks our best bet?

I have been to other grocery stores in Orlando and favor Publix

They are well stocked and do have many things for the vacationers need during their stay

I always buy lotions, and all items I can't take with me on my flights when I go to Publix

And they have a great variety of foods and snacks

May sound nuts but is there one near Cabana Bay which would be walking distance or would it be the same Publix?

Public and Goodings are both relatively expensive. We just purchase snacks & beverages, Walmart is our new stop

May just take a quick trip o Walmart to stock up on snacks.

Trader joes is nice IMO and they have one in the area now. And we always stop at Whole Foods which is close to uni.

I don't consider publix to be expensive, and if you want a pretty one, we found such a thing in Celebration.

I like the Publix on Sand Lake Rd. in Plaza Venezia. If driving between Universal and Disney in that direction - I'd probably stop here. I also like the Publix on 192 at Orange Lake. This one is only easy access to Disney if you are staying at AKL, though. To me, Publix is the same price range as the major regional grocery store chains to home. So - less than Whole Foods/Trader Joes.
