Is paint the night coming to WDW for the 45th?

I agree about MSEP but I think if they do anything it won't be until the 50th.

I"m sure they are going to do up the 50th but this is a weird year at WDW with a lot of nice little surprises.. maybe not paint the night but there's something they are prepping for..

What are the prepping though? Are you talking about refurbishments and stuff? They aren't doing anything out of the ordinary really.

Nobody...no how...in the corporate level management is devoting time or expense towards "Surprising" the "loyal" customers of WDW...none.

They are building due to critical mass/business pressures...we should rejoice in that.

This isn't going to snowball.

I've gathered proof over the last 15 years that's indisputable...it's called "the last 15 years"

Just watched the livestream of Paint the Night and while the floats and lighting graphics are great the audio track is awful. Kept hearing that awful Moveit, Shakeit, Dance & Playit music over and over. So monotonous, but DLR has the same audio monotony in their Fall/Winter Christmas parade. Also, a lot of the PtN parade walking cast (and actually some of the floats) has some similarities to parts of Festival of Fantasy. No lighting on FoF but some things are similar.

Having worked the parades at MK for the last 7 years, I don't think PtN would transition well to WDW. I would prefer an updated, more modernized version of Spectromagic at MK to Paint the Night.

Just my $.02, FWIW

Just read that Paint the night is not scheduled to go past Sept 6th at Disneyland. Maybe it is headed East???

I think if you watched it live with all the effects and everything you would love it. It is such an interactive Parade with the lights and people buying the ears and wands and having a great time. It is truly one of the best parades I have ever seen at a Disney park.

Sorry to disappoint but it's not moving east. Paint The Night will go dark on September 6 and then return for the holiday season. After the holiday season the parade will go dark until it returns to Disneyland summer of 2017. Disneyland parades are becoming seasonal as of September 6.

September 6th is when the 60th ends right? And why would they make parades seasonal?

Possibly lighter crowds projected and the continued budget cuts. Would imagine that PtN went WAY OVER the projected budget but had to be completed because of the 60th. WDW parades have also had some reduced nightly runs this year as well. More one time per night rather than two times per since budgets were trimmed earlier this year

count me in for the bring back sprectro group. i so miss that parade. i really don't love msep and i adored spectro. we used to love when chernabog opened up his wings and we loved the music. more than once we watched from the train station at the beginning and then followed the parade at the end. my son was really small but he still remembers walking behind that light bar at the end of spectro and following it up main street waving, lol. wish they would bring it back......

Can't bring back the "old" one but could build a new one. A lot of the Spectro mechanicals were used to repair the MSEP floats. They were in pretty sad shape whe MSEP arrived and needed a lot of work.

I doubt they'd do that though. They'd likely just build a whole new parade instead.

So, how do they celebrate the birthdays? Would WDW 50th be all of 2021, or would it be October 2021 thru October 2022? Or something else entirely?
