Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Heading back to CBR in October, and this time we have water view booked. We have previously been standard in Martinique and Aruba. I really liked the proximity of Martinique to everything! Any suggestions on what to request with water view?

Its probably posted somewhere, but does anyone know when the movie/activity schedule gets released? Trip is not til september but I started looking around and I cant even find august yet. Does it not get released until the new month hits? I would assume by now they would be handing out the flyers for next month.

The movie activity schedule doesn't get released until the first or second or even third day of the month. So for your sept trip it should be posted around sept 1st - 3rd. Yup it's really last minute like that. Kind of a bummer for all us planners!! ;)

Waterview rooms are available in every village so personally I would request an area that you like. If Martinique was your favorite, go for it unless you want to experience a different village.

It is so disappointing to hear all these comments about rooms in 25 and 26 having bad odors. We are arriving in 32 days :) and I am very much hoping to get one of the waterview rooms in those buildings. JungleCruiseFan I look forward to hearing how tolerable the smell is since you decided to keep the room. Wondering if I should pack wall plug ins to help with the smell. We will be staying for 12 days and I think a good room is important - however I am not going to let it ruin my trip

The smell has not been all the time. I haven't really smelled it in the bedroom or the toilet/shower area, just the sink area and not all the time. It's not overwhelming by any means, just an annoyance every now and then. I think a plug in plugged in the sink area and we would never notice it.

The most important question of the day....

How good is the wifi? Does it work in the rooms or do you need to be in set areas?

6 more sleeps!!

We have our first stay at CBR coming up in less than 60 days. :D

Like so many before me, I want to request Jamaica 45 (or 46 or 44- we are not THAT picky).

What is the very best thing for me to do to request one of these particular buildings?

Complete online checkin (I know this is not a request on the checklist, so not sure what to check on the room request list)?

Call? Fax? (Does ANYONE fax anymore?) All of thee above?

I always call and have them note my requests on the reservation. Make sure your online requests do not contradict (i.e.: don't ask them to put Jamaica 45 on your request the pick Martinique on your online check in). I also still fax in a request, I figure it can't hurt to cover all my bases.

To get you closest to the main pool a preferred room would guarantee you to be closest- it would put you in Trinidad North or Martinique buildings 24, 25 or 26. You could also book water view and request Martinique or Trinidad North since they have waterview rooms in both of those villages. If you want to remain in a standard room, you can request Martinique building 22 or 23 which are the next closest buildings or Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 which are just across the lake. They have a kids play area on the island that the kids may like to stop at on your way over to the main pool. Building 45 in Jamaica or Aruba 51 are the closest to the bridge to the island and the walking distance is about the same as if you were walking from building 22 in Martinique. Here is the map of the resort that may help give you a visual.

Wow! Thank you so much! That is awesome information. When would be the best time to put in my request? Should I do it sooner than later? Wait for when it's close to my trip? Thanks again!

You never know with requests. One year we tried the whole put our requests in every which way and it didn't help. This year I just checked the Martinique box and lower level box at online check in and we got the best room location we have ever had in all of our Disney Resort stays.

You will know when you enter the room. For us it was overpowering. We loved the location so much that we tried to stay-attempted to take a nap and wait for luggage since we'd been up since 3am traveling and it was just too strong an odor. I smelled the AC unit, rug, bedding, drapes.....and couldn't find where it was coming from. Sinuses filled up and we knew we couldn't stay. If it's just mild, and/or comes and goes then you'd probably be ok to stay. Like I said, it was very obvious for us and strong-in hindsight we should have switched rooms immediately but that's so hard to admit when you are overtired and not thinking clearly, and the location and view are just perfect. I'm sure it's not every room or no one would stay there so here's to hoping you get a great room with no odor! We loved our reassigned Jamaica 45 water view room(view wasn't great but location was just as nice)

It's crazy that they are aware of this problem and can not seem to fix it

5 sleeps and can't contain my excitement any longer!

If someone can answer my wifi question on this page that be great and also...

Has an alligator ever been seen on site or within lagoon?

Will reception help me linking memory maker and magic bands etc to my app?

Thank you. Watch out America... We are nearly on our way!!

I have never had an issue with the wifi in the rooms but have heard others on this board say they have. I definitely think it will be strong enough to do what you need it to do, but it may be slower for those who are trying to stream movies. I have never seen an alligator, but I wouldn't rule out them being there. You will see lots of lizards though!
Have a fabulous time and so excited for you!

Paul we stayed at CBR in April /May and the WiFi is terrific, also in the parks and at Disney Springs. If you've got the Memory Maker as part of a UK booking, it will link automatically when you have your first photo taken and the photographer will get you to swipe your magicband. It's brilliant! Everything will be linked, we worried about it all and it was easy peasy:)
We didn't see any alligators but did see cute turtles.
We loved every minute, you will too! We've booked to go back next May and we can't wait.

Thank you Essex and Tote, really appreciate that. So excited. Don't know what I will do with time when holiday over as constantly on this site lol.

Wanted wifi for loading up photos on Facebook each night and to annoy all my friends on what a great time we are having lol.

Going to be a full on 14 days for sure.

14 days, awesome! Be there in 9 days for a week. I'm more excited than my children!!

I agree with the comments about the wifi above but would add that at times when more people are around the resort, like very rainy or cold (by Florida standards) days, it can be quite slow. As far as gators go, in nine visits, we haven't seen a single one. Apparently, there have been gators there in the past... Did see a few snakes, though.

Truly there is no better time to add your requests just as long as they are in place a couple weeks-10 days prior to your check in. They assign rooms about 4-5 days prior to your check in so you want to make sure your request are in olace prior to that. Personally I would call and add them now, just one last thing to worry about. And always remember, requests are only requests and never guaranteed. We have had some trips with great luck in the past and other times we got something totally opposite of what we requested but ended up loving the location! We also have requested and got exactly what we wanted and disliked it. lol For us, Once we get there, the room is only to sleep. We are rarely in the room.
Good luck getting a great room!

Good point! We are there mostly to sleep. Thanks for the great information. I'll start looking in making my request and cross fingers for the best. Thank you so much!
