Anyone still use Mabel's Labels bracelets?

I remember reading about these awhile ago. What other safety measures do you recommend for young (age 5) kiddos, in the event they get separated from their family, heaven forbid? Our youngest was 1 and in a stroller last time we visited WDW.

Are those like the safety bracelets with a space to write an emergency phone number on it? If so, yes. We order ours from etsy.

I've seen an idea on Pinterest where you write a parents name and mobile phone number on the child's wrist (with pen I think) and then paint over it with liquid bandage to help it stay. I've made a necklace for my DD to wear with that information. I've also heard of people writing the info inside their child's shoe.

Using a metallic sharpie to write parents contact info inside the magic band may work also, as long as you seal it with clear nail polish. I've also heard that Disney uses the info scanned from the child's magic band in the event they are separated from their family (not sure how true that is, though).

We bought a tag from the machine at Petco and engraved it with DD's name and my cell number. We then laced it into her shoelaces. Cost about $10, reusable and they had a cute BB-8 style.

A couple years ago, I bought bracelets at Party City and wrote my cell phone # in Sharpie and put it on the boys' ankles so they couldn't take it off. Writing it on the inside of the magic band is a great idea!

These are all great ideas!

To add another idea, we ordered custom tattoos with our phone number on them. We plan to cover them with liquid band aid as well. You can choose the design. Shipping was super quick, even though it was an international purchase. Found these on eBay.

I've read on the decorating MB thread that sharpie wears off (especially when up against a sweaty wrist on the inside of the MB) but that it also smears when coated with polish, so that might be something to test at home while there is still a chance to come up with an alternate plan. Maybe someone here has already done it and it worked? If it works that would be a wonderfully simple idea.

I'm a fan of the dog tag on the shoelace idea. My high school students made one as a joke for my baby shower gift. Well we actually used it as PP suggested, so it turned out to be a useful joke, lol.

Consider some sort of tether. We are getting a strap for dd that can attach 5 ways so that she will be connected to someone while walking without having to hold our hands.

It is so easy to get separated by crowds and even easier when someone is half the size of the people in the crowd. I just prefer to keep mine connected to someone in those situations. I'm sure we would find her quickly but I'd rather avoid even a moment of panic for either of us if I can.

We had a stroller for our youngest the last time that we went and a harness for our middle daughter.

Yes we have Mabel's labels bracelets. We order them every year when we order name labels for everything that goes to school.

Our kids always have a Mabel Label Safety bracelet when visiting WDW in addition to their magic band. Once I forgot them and tried wrting our phone number on the MB and it smeared and disappeared after a couple of days in the heat. On our bracelet we only wrote: "If list please call xxx-xxx-xxxx". No name. http://mabelslabels.com/kids-safety-bracelets.html
