EPCOT DVC lounge

Hi. Does anyone know if you can bring food into the DVC lounge in EPCOT. When we are there in Sept it is going to be difficult to stay cool. We were hoping to grab lunch at WS and bring it back to the DVC lounge and chill and recharge. Hopefully this is ok.
Thanks!!

40 Days!! :tigger:

I don't know the answer but speaking for myself personally, I hope not. I've not been to the lounge yet but if this becomes a "secret air-conditioned place for DVC members to bring their QS meals when all the tables are full in the restaurant" type of place, it's not going to be very relaxing or pleasant for very long...

Just my two cents.

The lounge is not really set up for dining. They have chairs that put you in a mildly reclined position and they have a smattering of low end-tables and coffee tables. They do come around with a cart of packaged snacks for guests using the lounge. The DVC lounge was nice, but we were rather under-whelmed and only went twice over the course of two weeks and several Epcot visits. Honestly, I would not waste my time and energy to haul a QS meal all the way from the WS to the Imagination Pavilion. Most of the QS places in the WS have an air-conditioned area which is designed for sitting down to eat. Personally, I would just use one of those locations. If you choose to lug your meal from WS to Future World, I would park in the Innoventions West area. They have some chairs and tables and it is nice and cool in there!

I am thinking we will eat at Sunshine Seasons them relax a bit at DVC lounge. I can def see the drawbacks of people start hauling in coolers and full meals if it is not set up for eating so much.

Whoa, you mean they have drinks AND snacks? :yay:

We didn't enjoy it very much. Crowded with some people taking up two chairs - one to sit in and the other to put their feet on. I would nicely ask if I could take one of the chairs was was told no, that they were using it. We saw the snack cart, but by the time it got to us it was empty. My family and I had a quick drink and moved on. I guess I had a different expectation.

We just returned home, and had gone to the lounge twice. The first time, about 20 minutes before they closed, and it was practically empty. The second time was today around noon - after Soarin' we planned to get our boarding passes in the lounge. There was a short line to check in downstairs; when we got upstairs, because there were fairly long lines at the drink machines we instead tried to get our BP's, but both computers were in use, with both parties surfing the internet.
I decided to just ask one of the people using a computer if we could have access for a couple of minutes. He apparently didn't understand what I was asking, but the boy using the other computer overheard this, and let us use his. It took all of 3 minutes to print our BP's, and we vacated the spot.

Wow!! What a nice way to treat a fellow DVC member:mad:

We took in a small snack when we were there over the 4th of July week. It was just fruit and cheese from a stand close by. I agree, it's really not set up to have a full meal there. Wasn't crowded at all when we went but it was right after they opened for the day.

:sad2:

Sigh. There's always someone....

It's a bit like an Airport Lounge... Good place to stop for half an hour then move on.

All that coffee and soda but no bathrooms! I'm thinking this isn't a place they want you to stay for very long.

For me it was a one and done.

Was it designed for people to come and stay? Or was it suppose to be a quick stop to take a rest, get a drink, make an ADR?

I think no one really knows what the intent was... although I don't think there is anywhere they want you to come in and stay-- except the gift shops...

I liked it just fine-- it's better than not having one.
