so I ve just persuaded my wife that a trip to Orlando in two summers time is a great idea wohooooo! Saving £250 a month as a starter to give us a good base. Planning 3 weeks maybe a week in Tampa, week in a villa in Orlando and one week onsite in Disney (hopefully beach club) with dining plan
Bit nervous as it will be our first trip in school holidays and first in summer. Not sure how hot it will feel
All this made me realize I never shared any feedback from out sept 2015 trip with our two boys 1and 4.
It was a 2.5 week trip split between a villa in Windsor hills and 8 nights at the yacht club with dining! It was a wonderful trip and have done two trips with young children I can't recommend it enough! Below are some random good and bad feedback
Good - it was hotter than I was expecting!
Bad - despite being out of school holidays it seemed a lot busier than previous trips
Good - loved both Windsor hills and the beach club. Beach club is an amazing position and the pool is great
Good - loved the dining plan again. I know there is debate re cost but it removes a lot of stress. Once again jiko was a highlight but all were very good.
Good - virgin miles pay for our return flights premium
Good -Alamo ran out of cars in our class so gave us a mini van
Bad- our youngest got croup on holiday and whilst the care was fantastic it was a long ordeal for a simple condition and expensive (luckily insurance covered it!!)
Bad - clearing immigration. Better than normal but still a drag! Both our kids fell asleep as the plain landed so was a real struggle with bags too.
Good - the lovely family we sat next to in the flight who helped us through immigration
Good - newly upgraded rooms at the beach club
Good - legoland was superb for our eldest
Good - food and wine festival, cannot recommend this event enough
Good - our new restaurants tried were the Chinese and Mexican in Epcot were both superb
Bad - whilst I love the ambience at the ice cream shop at the beach club (Beaches and cream) the food both times I ve visited has been sub par
Bad - lots of work going on so particularly Hollywood studios seemed a bit too small. Look forward to the expansion!
Good- extra multi stories at downtown and the new developments. Last time we went it was a struggle to even park!
Bad - whilst we always left parks early due to our youngest seems a bit cheeky to shut parks for special events
Bad - Liberty tree tavern one of my favorite restaurants was shut
Good- seven dwarves mine train and fast pass plus! Really works well for us with youngsters
Good - attending for a child's birthday.
Good - never did the special agent thing at Epcot before but it was great fun!!!! Also was a special food and wine hunt for rent thing
Good - Walmart - for some reason I love this place!!!!
Good- our first villa experience. Windsor hills was a great resort and location
Bad - our young children took a week to settle down sleep wise so lots of very early mornings!
Good - doing a clothes wash mid trip meaning less luggage and more room to buy stuff
Good - Disney is just great
Good - Boardwalk, I just love it down there and the new Italian was very good.
It was a fantastic trip!
