This (DISNEY)land Was Made For You and Me - July 2016 Weight Loss and Lifestyle Change Challenge

I realized this too last year! Now I may enter my corral 45 minutes early still BUT I find a spot on the curb and sit until I'm forced to move up or they start singing the National Anthem. I figure the less time I"m physically on my feet, the better!

Yesssss. I'm not alone in this crazy thinking. The runDisney corrals tend to go quicker, but the RNR races take forever to get people out the chute. Finding a nice curb to sit on and stretch really helps, then we just get up and move once we see the corrals go and our number gets closer. I know you can't do this for RunDisney, but they at least get people moving. We'll sit in the car until about 5am and then rush down Mickey and Friends to the start line so we're only waiting 5 minutes and using the walk as a great warm up.

Are there any particular Disney-themed songs you listen to on a regular basis?
What about workout music -- share your top 5 favorite songs to run/exercise to. Maybe we can build a new playlist!

I don't really listen to music when I exercise - most of the time at the moment I have people with me - the kids, my Mum started joining us last week in the afternoon - so one or two of the kids have to walk with her as she is slower so that I can still get a good pace going - then I walk part of the way back slower with her. Or when we are paddling there are 3 to 4 of ladies together so its more chatting than music time. I don't really listen to Disney music as a stand alone - mostly we will just rewatch a movie for a Disney fix or watch our holiday photo movie - I used lots of different Disney music on that.

Bonus: Have you seen Mickey and the Magical Map? If not, are you planning to soon?

Yes we did see it when we were there - it was great we loved it. All those fabulous songs :)

July 26 - Mickey and the Magical Map

The stage show so tucked away that you may miss it.

Mickey and the Magical Map is an awesome stage show that is filled with dancing, face characters, and cool special effects. It's a beautiful
stage show and is sadly not promoted enough that you may miss it.It's tucked away behind It's A Small World towards Toon Town...
so it is quite possible that unless you actually were looking for it that you missed it.

So what is it about?

Mickey's a sorcerer's apprentice to a map maker and soon gets sucked into a magical map that takes him to different
lands / places featuring Disney characters. His guide is "Spot", a rambunctious ink blot that interacts with Mickey.

It's 22 minutes of magic! A great way to rest your legs and enjoy a beautiful stage show with dancing, singing, and awesome effects.

July 26 - Question of the Day
Mickey and the Magical Map boasts Disney Songs galore that put you into a great mood!
Listening to music can help your workout routines go faster - so let's talk about music.

I am pretty strange. I don't listen to up to date music. I am more of a Show Tune/ American Songbook type of person. I also like to listen to Disney background music

I have never even heard of this show. I think it will go on my list of things to do.

Went this evening with future dil to pick up her wedding dress. We went last week and there still needed to have a couple of things fixed so we went today, she tried it on and it fit perfectly. I still need to find shoes and a couple of blouses to wear for the rehearsal dinner and the morning after breakfast. The good thing is dh goes back to work next week so it will be easier to get out shopping. I also need to arrange a manicure/pedicure, haircut and need to pick up makeup since I have so little of it.

Have a happy and healthy day.

QOTD:

I don't really listen to music - ever. And I more or less don't own any music. When I run, I listen to podcasts, many Disney ones. I sometimes think music with the right beat might be a good thing to have, but I find listening to music so boring... I know, I am strange!!!

Hmm what is my woohoo this week. It has been a quiet week. I would have to say that I am most happy about my time in the afternoons opening up. My daughter has finished PT on her foot so that gives me too extra days a week to get other stuff done. It has been a good week for us to spend family time together. We don;t get enough of that. Yesterday we went and got ice cream. This is something my husband never does and then we took a walk to catch some pokeman.

The next couple of days will be a little busy but not too bad. I have to work late tomorrow and then Friday is my birthday. We will go out to eat as a family on Friday and then on Saturday my husbands grandmother wants to take us out eat for mine and my husbands birthday (his was last Saturday). She is also getting us a cake. Then the rush will be on to get stuff ready for school to start. The kids go back August 16th.

I booked my hotel and flight home for Rock n Roll St Louis this morning. I don't have a flight to STL yet, but... at least I know when I'm going home and where I am staying.

I've also made random plans for Sunday to hang out with a FB friend that I've had for 10 years and finally get to meet him and his wife in person. Looks like we're doing brunch, then heading over to his buddy's house for a pool party. I've never met any of these people before, so it'll be a crazy experience for sure. :confused3

I always feel like I struggle to find woohoos in my week but this time I have a couple Woohoos for this Wednesday! First I was able to sign up to volunteer at Wine and Dine this year, I will be handing out medals to the half finishers. I am so excited for this because it will be my first time volunteering instead of running a race and I get a park ticket for doing it. Second woohoo is that I am 110% of my goal as of this morning. Third woohoo is that I just booked my flight for RnR Vegas!

When do you arrive in Vegas and where are you staying!? :D

I think I'm going to volunteer for the Avengers 5K race .. I really want one of those snazzy volunteer shirts.

Happy Early Birthday! That is definitely woohoo worthy!

First I was able to sign up to volunteer at Wine and Dine this year, I will be handing out medals to the half finishers.

So cool! That will be so much fun!!! I wondered how those volunteers got those positions-- welp, after reading this and googling, it's right there-- you just sign up! I may look into that for Princess weekend this year.

Woohoo Wednesday: Well.... I'm actually feeling boohoo today. I've been so much more active this month, and we've been consistently cooking at home but I've gained two pounds as of this morning! What the what!? I know people say the scale isn't the be all end all, but I have to admit, it's a little disheartening. Plus the fact that my normal jeans are too big like baggy and uncomfortable big (yay!) but my jeans the next size down are too tight... Like literally everything I have that's a 14 is falling off and everything that's a 12 gives me a muffin top :rolleyes2 I just can't with that. I guess that's a woo-boo-hoo :rotfl:Ok, vent over...

On to the woohooing: Everyone came out to Monday yoga; it was fun. I had my GOT elliptical time last night and am feeling good about keeping this momentum going (despite that silly scale!). And lastly, DH and I were going to loose our deposit on the food and wine Italy tour we had planned for the fall (before we spontaneously decided to go to Tokyo instead).... so we bit the bullet and found a last minute cheaper similar food and wine tour to do to use that credit in November. Not so smart to spend money to save money, but YOLO-- and also total lockdown next year-- no trips abroad-- super saving only (for hopefully Shanghai Disney 2018!). Soooo I'm super excited to go do the food and wine tour and now have some extra motivation to get a little smaller to fit my "cooler" weather clothes.

What are you celebrating today?

I'm celebrating our trip to the beach for a week - we leave on Friday and head down to Orange Beach, Alabama. My family went last year and we enjoyed it - this year my parents and my brother's family are joining us.

I've been trying to push myself a little on my runs and was able to break the 30:00 mark on a treadmill 5k for the first time. It's been tough finding time this week to get some longer runs in with football practice in the morning and at night, so I've been settling for 3 mile runs.

That's all I got right now!

What are you celebrating today?

As you would expect, it is hard to come up with a woohoo today..... but I will say a woohoo to being on vacation next week! We could definitely all use the break from real life.

************************

Hey friends...... still busy playing catch up here from our crazy week last week, so not much computer time, but I didn't want to let too many days go by without checking in.... especially since July is coming to a close quickly!

I'll try to get up a bit early to pop on in the morning..... for now I've got to go fold laundry.............P

My woo-hoo is pretty boring, but I'm happy about it. When I think - what are you excited about this week, this is it: I have had a really good week at just getting stuff done. I've cleaned out closets, I finally called a plumber and got some nagging plumbing issues fixed, I weeded the flower beds and I gave the dog a bath.

I like looking at my to do list and seeing things that have been on there for weeks/months finally getting crossed off.

It's also my sister and BIL's 25th wedding anniversary -which is shocking because I remember her wedding like it was yesterday! So woo hoo - happy anniverary to them!

When do you arrive in Vegas and where are you staying!? :D

I think I'm going to volunteer for the Avengers 5K race .. I really want one of those snazzy volunteer shirts.

I'm coming in Friday night staying at the Luxor and then leaving Monday afternoon but that might change to Tuesday. DH has conference that starts Monday and his company is putting him up at the Venetian for the week, I really would like to stay at least one night there. We should meet for a drink!

We totally should :D

We arrive Saturday afternoon after Avengers 10K and will be going straight to the Expo then walking the 5K. We bounce on Monday evening, so Monday may be the best day for us. We depart at 7pm.

We're staying at the Polo Tower Villas. i booked a time share week (even though we're only there for 3 days) back in January. I thought ahead :)

Hey guys. I've been MIA because I've been thinking about a few things and dealing with some stuff.

Since I missed a few QOTDs ...
I love Matterhorn (we do both sides - we usually pick whichever has the shorter-looking line), I've been on all of the Fantasyland dark rides (and I miss Snow White in Florida ... even though I love Mine Train). Never done Storybook Canal Boats or Casey Jr, but they're on my list for next trip.
I'm going to skip my comments on IASW "Holiday" (a word that is in quotes for a reason) because I know it's too emotional of a topic for me.

In terms of other things...
I've been doing a lot of thinking over the past few weeks.
I'm not eating entirely on plan, but as long as I force myself to write down that I'm screwing up (even if I don't track it, I'm keeping a journal), I do okay. If I screw up too much, my body tells me, and I know to be better over the next few days.
Exercise is a little rougher - I'm
I think the big thing that I've noticed is that my stress level is down a bit. As much as I love all of you guys and the support you have provided for me during my struggles ... checking in here has become stressful for me. Right now, it's just not what I need, and I think it's easier for me to not check in.
I still love you guys, and I'll still be lurking around here, just not really posting much. Thanks for all that you guys have done for me, and keep being awesome!
