So 10 years of the DIS Unplugged has passed, 10 great years. As Pete said in the mega-meet show, it started out as an audio show recorded in Pete's dining room - to see how far the show has come since then is phenomenal. The content being produced lately, this year especially, has been stunning, the team should very proud.

I thought it'd be nice for fellow viewers, listeners and DISers to have one thread to post messages of thanks and congratulations for the team. Along with a place to share you're favorite DIS Unplugged memory...

So here goes mine;

Thanks to all of the team, past and present, for what has come from the DIS Unplugged. Although I never listened to the podcast regularly, the episodes I have heard were heartfelt, and Bawb seemed such a nice guy. The DIS Unplugged video edition will always be Dustin's baby, but since him leaving, the production team have been superb. Huge congratulations on 10 years, heres to another 10, 20 or 30 years to come!

Favorite memory of the DIS Unplugged: Petes rants! (can't pick one, so all of them!)

Post you're messages and memories below!

I posted this in the mega meet thread but I will post it again here

We wouldn't have this amazing thing called the Disunplugged podcast without any of you. I am forever grateful for you guys doing what you do. Without the podcast I wouldn't be here on the boards talking about it with so many amazing people. I also wouldn't have been given the opportunity to become a moderator. The video we fans put together is just a small way to say thanks. Thanks to @Accident for getting a group of us together to do that.

I can only hope to some day meet at least one of you guys in person. Hopefully the possible events next year for the disboards 20th is something I can make.

Here is to another 10 fantastic years even though I hope its even more than that. The podcast can only go up in terms of the level it is at in the future. The sky is the limit!

Thanks again,

Ryan

Piggybacking on @rteetz message and list a bit, I feel exactly the same! I'll also cut/paste a message I put in another thread here, to make sure all your "thank you messages" are in one place, so you get to see them. BIG HUGS and Happy 10th to you all!!

Crying here (watching the show)...... :guilty::o but in a GOOD way!! :)

EDIT - Crying even more as the show goes on......also, kind of speechless (VERY unusual for me!), so all I can think of to say to The Team is "Thank you - you will NEVER know how much/what kind of things you have, and are, helping me deal with, by letting me watch all you do, making me think, making me happy......thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!" to each and every one of you, on both coasts, and behind the scenes. :lovestruc:grouphug:

Just like the above comments I wanted to share the deepest thanks to all the members. You guys have made my life so much better for the time that I have been watching you guys. I am 15 almost 16 and I enjoy everyone of your shows from DisneyLand to world. I share that same passion and heart for disney. You all have been a great outlet to meet like minded people and listen to some great people! I love all of you.

Oliver will now have a million people following him here. lol Does he have a Facebook?

Just wanted to add my thanks to the team and let them know I appreciate their hand work. I'm sure there were many times that the team didn't feel love and appreciated but they continued anyway. Hoping the team feels the love. Thank you for everything you do. You have created a wonderful, compassionate community that gives back. I don't know what I would do to get my Disney fix if there were no boards or podcasts. O.k. Going to watch the Mega meet. I'm so excited.

Great Show, Great sentiments and lets face it a great team.

I normally take a years break between Disney Trips (due to the cost), but after watching this, I am going to try ,and start saving like a crazy person, to get to the 20th Dis Board anniversary next year

To the whole team, thanks so much for all that you do. @DisneyKevin said on the show that one of the biggest compliments they can receive is to hear that they helped people get through rough times and I'm about to bestow that compliment again.

The DisUnplugged was something that I got into while I was going through chemo and radiation. There wasn't a lot that I could do during that time but listening to the podcast helped me to pass my days and made me look forward to the end of chemo even more so that I could get back to WDW. It kept me feeling connected to a community that I was just starting into and not feeling so lonely since I couldn't go out that much to socialize or even find a lot of energy to be active on the boards.

Even now that I'm cancer free, the DisUnplugged team helps me get through my rough days. So thank you to all the team for all the hard work that you do to provide a show for us. It means a whole lot and we're glad that you've chosen to share your lives with us :)

I can appreciate @DisneyKevin 's rants more about the public's dismissive attitude and disregard for the injured/unable-bodied in the parks, experiencing it firsthand on this trip. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of nice folks out there willing to help and did help (even children), so you try and take those moments with you and not dwell on the oblivious or callous idiots. It was very difficult to keep to a schedule; it seemed as though time was against us from the minute we woke up everyday. I'd venture to say you've only seen the half of it if anyone thinks negatively about Kevin in this regard. I've only been through the looking glass when it comes to being immobile-it sucks. It sucks for your partner as well, because I was humbly reminded that we're sharing a vacation... and that seeing me frustrated, sore, etc, was not enjoyable to watch from her side (throw the high heat in the mix and you've got a $h!7 salad). I learned a lot about how difficult it is navigating in buses, stores, queues, and transferring to Disney wheelchairs (to get to an attraction to transfer) that are usually out of the way, and that you don't really save a lot of time because of these extra steps.

I think @WebmasterPete 's rants about not accepting less than the bar standard set by Disney themselves has made me speak out more when something is unacceptable. They see social media, they pay attention to surveys. They're in trouble if they send me one for this trip-I'll write an essay. If you plan on returning and you're paying that kind of money, it's your duty to speak out. I guess it helps when you hear in the back of your mind Pete on a rant and the NJ accent comes out... I could psychoanalyze and say that it is probably a function/channeling of an attitude that is imitating a source of strength (probably union guys that don't take no crap), so it helps you stand your ground. Others may think it's funny to watch, but I understand that to take back the power, this impression is more than likely a coping mechanism to continually dig at the children who ostracized you and to what they became as adults. People who are successful struggle. There's no denying that certain people have a drive that can't be explained. I'm so glad that yours has turned out such a great product and that you are surrounded with talented people who are grateful.

The information and discussions about many topics have had a lasting presence in the back of my mind. One thing that I do miss though, even at the time of its demise the format was kind of stale, was the 2nd live show with Dustin talking more so about attractions and giving a voice to threads on the boards. Watching "the kids" give their thoughts about certain attractions or themed lands was enjoyable. I'm sure with the plethora of new attractions opening in the coming years there will be plenty of opportunity for discussions.

We're getting ready to check out of our room and head home, so this is about all I could type.

I know great things will come in the future and I'm glad that I could contribute my little articles to the collective whole.

I'm so proud of the money raised for GKTW. It's a great cause and the most attractive part to me is the low overhead in management costs. Just like the JimmyV Foundation, I know the money I donate is going directly to help families in their most urgent time of need or to help researchers find new techniques to extend life, so that we can have more GKTW graduates come back and volunteer when they're 30+ years older than what the doctors gave them. Just think, our little group of Disney fans...we gave enough this weekend to take 14+ families on a trip they'll never forget.

I won't list everyone since it's already been done but thanks to the team. I watched the podcast late last night and yes, I might have had a tear or two but Teresa was always quick to bring a smile back. I didn't start watching the show until around 2015 or maybe a little earlier so I went back and watched all the previous shows from the beginning. It was so much fun to see how things changed through the years and to see how Pete's predictions on things actually panned out. I'm not even a fan of Universal and still watch those shows (still going back to the beginning of those as well) because I just love watching Cryno, they are so funny and play well off each other. I will never forget Kevin getting up in the middle of the show about the shootings and giving Ryno a hug, I'm tearing up just thinking about it. As a mother, it both broke my heart and helped heal it all in one gesture.

Here's to another 10 years, can't wait to see what ya'll come up with next and I hope to get to actually attend the next meet in June.

No show has been more consistent, no show has been more entertaining, no show has a cast this good, no show has put out this amount of quality content, no show is so effortlessly able to go from heartfelt, heartbreak, politics, psychology, addiction, life and death... and all wrapped up in the guise of Disney World. 10 years in and they're putting out maybe the best stuff they've ever done. That just doesn't happen. When (and if) the history of podcasting is ever written, The DIS Unplugged might just stand alone at the top. Pete is King of the World for what he's given us.

Here's hoping for another 50 years.

Just wanted to say - so glad you're now cancer-free, and I hope much better times are ahead for you!!

I miss these shows too, since they were some of what first drew me in. But then there are lots of great other shows like DisPop going on. So if the 2nd live show only came back part of the time I'd be happy with that.

Thank you so miuch! :) When I was watching the 10th podcast and I saw you on video I was like, "Oooh, so that's how Heidi looks!" (Very fab)
