DVC rental question

hello

We have rented points through private person not a company

If I would like to put in a request re room does this have to be done through that person?

How soon before arriving do you request?

I want to buy the drink refill do I have to buy through the owner?

One last question ... If want book restaurants ... Through owner again?

Hello

The mug refill , the dining is all done by you at 180 days. The requests will be made by the owner when they book it so I would mention it to them now.

Last time we were there, they had a DVC gathering ... I assume we cannot join that?

I am getting frustrated with myself ... I can't find the link to order the refill drink ... Can you help

The mugs you buy at Ulu Cafe when you get there. They are about $19 each.

There are no discounts for meals, but if you present your DVC member card you get 10% off at the stores and you also receive some incentives in the spa. However, if you are not a DVC member and only there under someone else points, you won't get that. You will get free parking though! Also, you need to pre-register for the DVC gathering, and, again, you will need to show your membership card for that.

The member you are renting from will have to make your request. The sooner you do it, the better.

Not to hijack, but does anyone know if those staying on rented points get laundry tokens? Or is free laundry only available to DVC members who present their member card?

While I can't answer the laundry question until after my trip on rented points in December, I am expecting to be able to use the DVC laundry. Last year I rented points at AKL for a studio and had no problems with my magic band letting me into the laundry room intended for use by those in the DVC studio rooms. I didn't have to ask or anything so I'm assuming Aulani should be the same and laundry use is based on room type (DVC) like their parking rather than on a membership.

Since there are no MBs at Aulani, it's my understanding that the front desk will give laundry tokens to DVC members that they can use for free access to laundry. I've previously read that they will give it to anyone staying on points, which would mean you don't need to be an owner to receive them. Hoping someone can confirm, but I'll be finding out in September!

I talked to a lady who owns/rents out at Aulani and she said that I would have to go to the front desk and ask for the coins. I'll be able to tell you after our trip in October

When staying at OKW there was no tokens for laundry, there were a few places around the resort by the pools and it was all free other then your detergent..

I think that's because all OKW are DVC/villas. Aulani has regular hotel rooms too, which I believe there is a charge for laundry use.

In February we stayed in a hotel room (one of only a few available with points) instead of a one bedroom. I went to the front desk and they game me as many tokens as I needed! So, if you're DVC and staying on points, just go to the front desk and tell them who you are and that you need tokens. They will hook you up!

Did you rent points or are you DVC? We pack very light and buy clothes when we go to Hawaii, so we usually do laundry sometime during the trip.

I'm DVC. However, went I went up to the front desk all I told them was that I was staying in a hotel room on points and that I was told I could receive tokens for the laundry. They never asked if I was a DVC member, or to see my membership card. I was only asked how many loads I thought I needed to wash. Now, I could have just had a super nice employee helping me out too, but if you're on points you should be fine.
