My family and I are coming to Disney in about 10 days and while there we will be celebrating my 40th birthday! I have 2 kids (6 & 9) and was wondering which place would be better to take them to at Disney Springs. I have never been to either place so suggestions are welcomed. I'm not a seafood person, prefer beef or chicken and just looking for a fun atmosphere (and yummy food and desserts) to celebrate.

Any thoughts as to which of these two places, Raglan Road or The Boathouse, to go with 2 kids?

I would choose Raglan Road. It's louder, but my kids enjoy the music and dancing and I enjoy the bread and butter pudding. :)

Thanks! My husband said he liked the looks of Raglan Road better... I'm sure my kids would enjoy the music and dancing, and since it's loud I won't have to worry.... I was looking at getting the Braised Be Beef, is that any good?

I haven't tried that, but it sounds delicious to me. I mostly save myself for dessert.

I was not a big fan of the Boathouse. I just wasn't that impressed compared to some other Disney Signatures. I would definitely choose Raglan Road. The braised beef is wonderful.

We loved Raglan Road. All meals were delicious! We said in the main area near one of the dancing mini stages. DD8 (a dancer) LOVED every minute. It was loud during the singing and dancing, but a great experience! We loved every minute of it! Defiantly will be back!

Happy Birthday a bit early.

Raglan Road gets my vote.. The atmosphere here is perfect place to celebrate your birthday very lively.
Appetizers - Scallop Forest is our fav with Nom Nom wings coming in 2nd
DH's fav Keen Eye for the Shepherds pie, for Me its Lambo and its Not Bleedin' Chowder I can't pick... some others we enjoy Sod in the Stew, and Braised be Beef. The portion are huge in my opinion and very hearty. WE have never gotten dessert to full, but after walking around DS after dinner, there are lots of options to try..

The music and dancers are really good and great entertainment. I will say after 10:00pm it sorta starts to take on the bar atmosphere, and after 11:00 its really more a bar scene. Just putting it out there so you know. There also is a lot of entertainers performing in different spots all over DS in the evening, really worth walking around and listening.

Unless you really love oysters, Boathouse isn't remotely worth it. Having went to both last trip I would go back to Raglan again, but only go back to Boathouse for beers and oysters never for a full meal. I feel like Raglan's atmosphere is more conducive to celebrations than boathouse which was low energy. I don't feel like Raglan's food is anything special, however, the atmosphere and bread pudding have it on our itinerary for our next trip

I would eat the lobster club at Raglan Road every day forever and be totally happy.

I know you have decided on RR. Just chiming in on how much we love Raglan Rd. In fact, we will be there tomorrow night for dinner. The first nights our vacation.

I have not read many good reviews on Boathouse. I heard its accoustics are not good making it impossible to hear the person across from you, crowd noise. Where Raglan is good old pub noise and great music.

Enjoy!

Raglan Road was a blast! it is loud, but not too loud. Irish dancers were amazing and danced with my kids. The loved it!
Have a very Happy Birthday!

Whichever you can still get an ADR at 10 days out!!!! Try on Open Table.
If both are available, we love RR, but I look forward to trying the Boathouse.

Raglan Road is a lot of fun, but I wasn't overly wowed by the food. It wasn't bad, but nothing spectacular to us. I would opt for the Boathouse if it's more about the food for the meal.

We are WDW regulars, but for various reasons have never eaten at Raglan Road. We made a point to eat there last week while on vacation with 2 teenagers and it was excellent. Our server was awesome, the food was very good, the beer great and the entertainment was a nice feature. I would definitely recommend RR.

Ugh..... I love Boathouse but Raglan Road is where I had my first meal after getting engaged in MK. 2 words...Bread Pudding

Make a plea when you check in at raglan road that you want to be seated where you can see the stage. Makes a big difference.
