September 2016 Trip Thread!!!!

We are landing 9/4 and spending 3 full park days between 9/5 and 9/9. I am seriously considering buying an extra day and heading straight to the park on 9/4 afternoon when we land as it sounds like SM is going to close after 9/5 so we can get as much of that in as possible. I very much hope they don't close it before the end of the 60th anniversary celebration so we can ride it at least a few times as my 5 yr old will be completely tipped over.

As popular as Hyperspace is, I am sort of surprised they are doing GG at all, what with all the star wars hype going forward.

Maybe they won't shut it down this year, as it looks like most of the forums are already calling HM to be shut but not SM... hoping!

I hadn't heard about SM closing. Any idea when it's supposed to reopen?

Last year, SM was closed 7-10 Sept (M-Th after Labor Day) to install the GG overlay. They haven't officially announced a closure, but they have announced that GG will return this year. Since Halloween time will be starting Sept 9th, its a safe bet that SM will closed around 5-Sep.

No idea.

Most blogs / forums are already announcing that HM is closing 8/22. The disney page mentions that GG overlay will be installed but doesn't mention SM or HM refurbs yet. Not sure if it will be changed / updated. We should know more as Halloween party tickets go on sale Thursday and the park hours for that week will be up by then.

I also read somewhere that the overlay for hyperspace and GG is pretty much the same, so it could cut down the turn around time this year. It would actually be pretty cool if we could do hyperspace and GG in the same trip.

If it is closed that week, be on the lookout for a completely wrecked 5 year old in tomorrowland and come say hi... lol
 
We'll be there Labor Day weekend. First trip since Memorial Weekend so I am jonesing for some Disney!

Looks like HM is closed from 6th for refurb.
 
Well, at least we'll get to ride it on Monday. We'll be RD then Hyperspace x5 at least. LOL.

Oooooooooooh Noooooooooo. My daughter has been talking nonstop about going on Ariel while we're there Sept 12-16. Does anyone have any info about this rehab? Is there a chance it's a short turn around?

I don't know for sure I just ran across those when I was looking on disneyland.com for info on days I would be in the parks.
