Hello,

I found these at another forum and would like to post it here. These could be the new Anual Passports with prices and what you get for it.

I guess something will going on in the near future.....and it will be more expensiver than now.

Hi ThBa, is this taken from where someone's completed a survey?

Guessing whatever the outcome, prices of annual passes are going to increase a lot. :(

Yes...as far as I know these are the posssible choices (APs ) from a survey.

Do you think it would increase that dramatically on the 1 st November or would it be gradually increased. Reading on one social media sites a lot of belgiums would not pay that price, how many other nationalities would feel the same.

It would mean for my family 2000 euros and looking at the grids some of the prices do not include parking and emh.

I've read this elsewhere too. My thoughts are they are trying to 'Americanise' the Paris park. I don't think it fits and never has in the 'American' model. It is a European park and has uniqueness as a result. It's a whole long debate.

We are booked to travel next May half term (flights booked, Disney hotel not) and had planned to buy APs for 3 of our party for value, as we intended to revisit in August next year too.

Quite simply if these are the offerings available to us, then we will visit once next year and pay the '4 person package price' instead of doing the 'room tax' route. That way DLRP misses out on our second visit of the year as two 'full packages' are just too expensive. I am sure there will be other families feeling the same about this and personally, I think most mainland European guests won't want to pay these prices for these 'perks'. They just don't warrant those prices in Paris - not in my opinion anyway. I am a shareholder too - but feel the AP gives me the best value based on the room tax route for TWO PLUS visits, not on things like shop discounts as I get these with the SHC anyway. Without that, I couldn't do two visits in one year. Everyone is different though - our family like to stay onsite at a Disney hotel in the medium/higher categories, so the room tax works well for us.

Worried about Salon Mickey and what will happen to that as I've read it could be used as the 'Salon' for the AP holders - how is that going to work - it's tiny!?

I am all for change and improvement, but to move towards some of the 'American' vision in the European park, imo is a bad move....

Hopefully the leadership team will have had some fairly straight talking feedback from the survey.... and may have a rethink!

if they increase prices so much, my current AP will be definitely the last one...

I am sure you won't be the only one as I've explained above. And to be honest, it would probably make you visit less? No?

Perhaps they are trying to really cut back on the number of Annual Passes (I'm not sure how tripling the price wouldn't cut back!).

sorry was going to post more just my pc is playing up...

and yes, definitely would visit less, maybe once a year but then if they increase prices for hotel packages might just choose other places instead... and we a current situation lots of people already deciding not to travel to France at all and such a big price increase will make this decision easier for other AP holder from outside France...
cannot see lot of French people paying triple the price neither, just hope/think is just silly survey; they had similar last year and prices increased just slightly as you would expect with inflation etc...

Also with the uncertainty regarding the exchange rates as one minute they are looking ok and the next day they drop, it would make holidays for us a lot more expensive. I know that the exchange was a lot worse a few years back but with the increasing cost of living, we would not go twice a year, but maybe look at other parks around Europe and cutting back our holidays every other year.

I hope that if they did increase the prices with it being a survey by an independent party it is too late to implement it for November, and maybe increase the price a bit. Luckily we have booked an offsite hotel and was going to renew our passes in December, we may have to forget Disney and visit other attractions around France instead.

Totally agree with what you've all said. Dare I say, I think the issue is mainly with locals perhaps? It appears that DLRP doesn't make any money from those AP holders, or very little. As opposed to those of us who perhaps still stay in a Disney hotel, or at least eat there regularly during stays etc. According to this article, AP holders bring in about 1 euro a day - not sure where the figures are from mind! As I said, I can only assume this is local AP holders, not short break visitors, but then I'm guessing the demographics of AP holders are mainly locals and mainland Europeans!

I do think there will be a huge drop in the take up of APs should the price increase so significantly and I think many who would have travelled 2-3 times per year on their AP may go once, or shock horror - not at all! So, it would appear that the 'kind of AP' visitor they are wanting to attract, they may actually alienate/outprice!

I also totaly agree with all of your opinions about that.

It looks like they will get only people into the park who could affort it and have a lot of money. I hope not that they will plan to do a "VIP Park" because what will work in the US will not work in Europe.

We are 2 adults and 2 children and when I look at the prices for the new APs I could not affort to go twice a year...I could not affort to stay long.....I could not affort to buy that much souvenirs and so on.

It will not work in Europe and they should have learned this since 1992.

By the way: When can I renew my AP now? It expired mid January 2017 ?

I had a good look at the prices and they do one for 150 days at 135 euros each, and an extra 50 euros for parking. Depending on what days of the year you can go this would work out great for us as I have a shareholder card so can still get discounts.

I have read the ed92 Facebook page and a lot of posts from France are stating they will no longer go, on one post it states someone has rang Disney for their comments and were told that it is not true and is fake, but how true is that as it was supposedly been sent out to current ap holders, so how did they get addresses and emails!!!.

If they are to do it they should seriously look at increments every November and April, as charging high prices with nothing to show for it and decreased benefits will put a lot of people off until the parks are to American standards, but with the track record of dlp it will be a long long away.

Also Disney should take into consideration at the moment the attacks that are happening around Europe as people do get scared and cancel holidays, and to raise prices so dramatically when visitors are reducing is suicide in business

There's no question the passes are currently underpriced though. I just renewed mine and for 223Euros (about 190 at the exchange rate) I now have a pass valid from this August until February 2018 because of the 6 months free offer they're currently giving to renewals. An annual pass to Europa park, which is the second most visited theme park in Europe after Disneyland Park and gets more visitors than Walt Disney Studios, is 180Euros for one park and gives less discounts.

The problems I can see are -

- They've conditioned us to expect these prices and offers now - increasing them threefold in one go will give really bad PR.
- The American parks raised the prices so much because they had too many AP holders and they were trying to manage attendance - don't think DLP has that excuse to be honest.
- If they're going to put the prices up they really need to increase the benefits, even if it's similar to what the American parks did with including Photopass for free.
- How will they even administer the free-Fastpass situation? Unless they build in something like My Disney Experience it could be a logistical nightmare to policy AP holders getting extra Fastpasses for every day. How will they even do that? Will they send us a FP for every day of the year? Will we have to collect our Fastpass every day we enter the park?

I think the changes are definitely incoming, but some of the options will need quite bit infrastructure changes which make me think they won't come in as soon as November. I think maybe a regular price increase in November then the real changes next April to cash in on the feel good factor of the 25th anniversary.

Agreed Dav - MDE is a huge logistical cost. I just don't think DLRP is ready for that, not even nearly, not even in 5 years time!!!

This is all hypothetical but it shows they are thinking out loud about it all. Like I said, I'm positive they make money from me with an AP because I stay onsite and I buy when there, eat there etc. I don't think locals do as much, and they will be the majority AP holders. Perhaps they need to look at an AP for onsite stays, which could attract 'foreign' AP business, not scare it away!

An increase in annual passes is certainly expected. At the moment they are dirty cheap: for multiple days, an AP costs less than the regular ticket!
However, 3x is really steep.
I let my AP expire this year because of all the refurbishment and I wasn't planning to go until 2017, but I'm going for the half marathon and plan to get an AP, so I could squeeze a visit in early December and then again in 2017 for the opening of the celebrations for the 25th adn then again in September if PotC will open early after the refurbishment. If prices will be those in the survey, I would buy a ticket this September and maybe go only once next year. DLP would lose two visits from me. And I can assure you, I don't spend 1€ per day when I'm there :)

I'm fairly sure this has been rumoured for the last few years and then it always turns out to be a price increase of 10euros or something. We're hoping to go in may next year but if it costs thousands we will do wdw instead. If they are going to increase they need to do it gradually, not triple the price in one go.

To put things in perspective -

A Dream pass to DLP is currently 223 Euros - between £185 and £190 at the current exchange rate.

The similar annual pass to Hong Kong Disneyland (platinum) which has only one park is the equivalent of around £290.
An annual pass to Tokyo which also has two parks is nearly £700. Not as fair a comparison though because Disney Sea is approximately 1 billion times better than the Studios park, Japan is more expensive and the Tokyo parks are insanely popular. It's still 3 and a half times the price though.

When you look at the price of an annual pass to HKD it becomes clearer that DLPs is way way too cheap.

Bearing in mind that the pass above is the most expensive, you can get a Classic pass which gives 280 days access for £110. That's £10 LESS than an annual pass to Alton Towers in the UK, and Alton Towers is only open for 8 months of the year.

I think to compare prices with other theme parks across the world is not a very good way of looking at things. Yes Disneyland Paris is the cheapest out of the Disney parks, but what also needs to be looked at are things like the average workers wages, the cost of living (basic economic slowdown). I agree that currently a dream pass is very value for money and does need to be increased, but as I have said above, do they increase it bit by bit, and use that money to improve the parks as they go, or increase it in one go and put people off.

They could end making a big mistake if they are not careful, by those that are loyal to Disney being priced out due to dramatic increase and making it an elite park for the wealthy.

You can't even compare it really to othereuropean parks as they are not open all year round. But if you want to charge a premium price it needs to be a premium park, which at the moment it is far from. If they wanted to test the market maybe have a fourth pass at a higher price with some of the more tailored things e.g. Priority area for parades and see how that sells.

Personally at the moment with the way the park is during closures and refurbishments I would pay 250 euros per pass, but at the moment it is not worth more.

i'm looking at getting a dream pass when i go in March next year, even though i don't go often atall, so far i've had 4-5 year gaps, i am planning to hopefully go back for my 30th in 2019 as my bday is October,so thinking Halloween :). As long as i renew it it should be ok, but if it goes up...i'm in two minds but its something i've always wanted to get. And been able to use it in the UK Disneystores is always a bonus for crimbo etc xx
