CRO just means central reservations-i.e. Booking rooms directly through Disney
it used to be that the member had to be staying in the DVC discount room. Not sure if they are still strict on that. I got a BWV studio for 35% off with an annual pass discount 3 years ago. I used it as a backup for a waitlisted points room. Luckily it came through because even with the discount it was almost $300 a night.
You know that's a really good question and I don't know the answer. I don't recall seeing the DVC room discount actually listed in the "membership extras" at all but I know it is/was offered. Seeing that they took away all the Dining/shopping/park ticket discounts from resale buyers I wouldn't be surprised but I haven't actually seen it in writing. Thanks
After the perks changed in april, did this one as well? or is the discount still available to members which becomes members after the change?
Regards

I just always assumed the rooms avail to book with cash (DVC members or general public) come from the rooms Disney still owns at each resort or members who exchange into the Disney collection/Disney cruises. Then some of those rooms are avail to DVC members to book with the 25% discount (but you do give up daily mouse keeping in exchange for the discount). I'm not sure if those reservations are avail prior to 11 months (never looked) but I would assume they could affect 7 month availability. I mean if a BLT or VGF owner uses their points to go on a Disney cruise instead of using their DVC I'd guess Disney/DVC would want to use those points to rent out a cash room at one of those resorts vs say SSR since they are in much higher demand. I also would assume this is within Disney's right to do as the points would be utilized for their appropriate home resort advantage. How does Disney offer non DVC members villas for cash. I know they do but how does that work? Are some rooms not in the DVC inventory? Does this affect how many rooms are available for the DVC 11 month and 7 month window. I just don't understand how it all works.

When a member trades out then the way that DVC recoups the $$$'s for the trade is to rent the Villa out thru CRO. DVC also maintains inventory at each resort although it is generally kept for maintenance requirements. And inventory that is not declared at a new resort is rented out thru CRO. Finally, at 60 days out rooms that are not booked by members may be sent to CRO as breakage.
Other way around. Full cleaning on day 4 and trash and towel on day eight if you stay at least eight nights. Seven nights or less, you get trash and towel on day four.If you get the room through CRO, whatever the discount, you'll get daily mousekeeping. DVC Cash gets you the same type of mousekeeping as with points-T&T on Day 4, full cleaning on Day 8.
Was this a regular reservation through CRO/DRC? Or was it a DVC cash discount reservation?I actually just booked BLT for June 30th-July 5th 2017 1 bedroom standard view. Saved quite a bit on the retail prices about 260 a night cheaper. No black out dates as I got the 4th for the same price as all the other days. And price wise actually came out cheaper then renting points. I was short some points.
If this was booked through Disney Reservation Center, it probably is the lake view villa. Standard view is pretty limited and goes quickly to members for points. Kind of like Standard via DRC at BWV - those are usually what is preferred/pool/garden view for points.I actually just booked BLT for June 30th-July 5th 2017 1 bedroom standard view.
