Disney Gift Card Deals

Stuck in SW Virginia at a swim meet (at least it's cooler here than in Central VA) so I decided to be productive and use my Amex Joann's offers. Got two $50 BB gift cards (they didn't have eBay) then ran across the street to BB and bought a $100 Disney gift card. Should get 200 kicks from Shopkick.

And therein lies the risk. Someone else DOES have the number. So whenever you purchase pre-owned gift cards make sure you can get your money back if the card suddenly goes empty on you.
That is what I was thinking, but since I never bought one before I wasn't sure. Thanks.

How long do you typically wait between churns? Just curious.
I used to do once a week, when the ebucks promotions would come up. This quarter, I may have to do it less often, so since you aren't allowed to use more than $1000 in ebay gc every 2 months. I am looking at other ways to generate the ebay bucks as well.

I thought it was $2000 in eBay gc's per 60 days, $12,000 per year?

Just an update:

I used all of my eBay Bucks on July 15 (Friday), but did not receive the eBay bucks promo this past week.

Also, got the ebates $5 promotion approved when I ordered a $25 Disney GC from BB. Ordered earlier today, and it showed up as being approved today after I got the notice that the GC was ready for pickup.

FYI for those still doing GS churn, eBay has $25 GS GC for 10% off (it is a pre-owned one though) with free shipping.

This is correct. $2k every 60 days.
Thanks Jen and Ashwin! So, still wondering, how these 60 days would days would work then, if you know. If I purchased $1000 worth on July 20, then say a 5x comes out on say Aug 10 and I buy then, Then when in September could you make another $1000 purchase? Thinking depending on that turn over time you could easily a 5x that could come out in September? This is definitely confusing me lol. Any help is appreciated!

When I read the details it looks to me like it's a rolling 60 days, so in your example, after July 20 you should be able to use another $1000. That's my understanding but I can't say I'm 100% certain.

I am in the outskirts of Houston. I couldn't get an ebay card, but was able to use my GS card to get a Southwest card.

My aunt is south of Houston and has continued churning through GS for ebay with no problems at all. My guess is that her stores will put a halt to it all very shortly.

Hmm, still confused, lol, July 20th was the first $1000 I spent...
Guess I'm pretty confused how the rolling 60 days work. I don't think it's as simple as spend $1000 in each month.
I'm confused on how I can still make the max of $300 per quarter,(assuming I only do 5x promos). I figure I can spend another $1000 in Aug, but when in Sep can I spend another $1000 in eBay gc's, then again in October, and so on?

I was south of Houston, in Webster. The change may have gone through in the last couple of days, or I may have just picked the wrong store.

My aunt lives in League City. I do think the last day she converted GS to eBay was this past Tuesday. I told her to not buy anymore GS for a bit until we see how this all shakes out. Her store has been awesome for churning though.

A rolling 60 days means that once the original $1000 purchase has passed, you have that value you spent free. So if you spent $1000 on July 20, and say you spend another $1000 on August 1, you would have $1000 freed up to spend again on Sept. 18. And after that, it would be until Sept. 30 when the next $1000 would free up.

To make it easier on yourself, I would start tracking your eBay purchase dates and amounts and calculating 60 days from that date so you know when you can spend again. This $2000 rolling limit might make it very hard to get even $300 eBay bucks each quarter because we can't predict when each eBucks promo will hit. In that case, I would try maximizing as much as possible by using 2 accounts, my account and DH's account.

I'm not sure that sketchy is the right word. I, personally, feel like this is not a fair and honest transaction, and is in "bad faith". BB has to have an employee go gather the merchandise you ordered, and then have an employee work with you at the register to do the exchange. And, according to what you said, it was more than one employee (required a manager) at the register. This costs BB money. They are paying those employees, and then yet another employee to go put the merchandise back into inventory. BB is losing money as a result. And it creates busy, unncessary work for the employees. And you are in the return queue, which creates a longer wait for regular customers who are actually wanting to make legitimate purchases or exchanges. It's a lose-lose-lose (for BB, their customers, and employees)...and a win for you.

Buying a bunch of gift cards online, then buying other gift cards with them, and even doing it again...no loser in this scenario, from what I can tell. Seems in better spirit to me.

Again, just my opinion.
I personally would prefer not to have these types of posts included in this thread, sorry to quote your post @LisaT91403 you are just the last one I saw, not the only one. All (or at least far more than just the BB flip) could be considered "sketchy" or "bad faith" by many, it's all relative. All are certainly entitled to their opinion but maybe start a new thread, "Throwing the first stone (and subsequent stones) at Disney Gift Card Deals gone too far".

I just bought an eBay card today at GameStop. Found it on the spinner, took it to the cashier, he asked me how much I wanted and added it. I swiped my gift cards through the card scanner.
Everything went through fine.
Would be helpful to all here if you would add the area where you were successful.

Many of the places in Disney Springs have their own gift cards, such as the Landry's restaurants, House of Blues, and Sephora.
I know you can use your room charge which you can use the DGC to pay for but can you use a DGC directly also?

Like @momto4obkids mentioned, just use your GC's to buy larger ones. You can use Target GC to buy Target GC. They will email the code to you. That is what I do and it's easier to me than running to the store.
That's what I do, I actually try to buy cards that I can add a couple of $'s to and convert to a "larger" Target gc immediately after purchasing the resell.

Same here. The 2 stores that I always used to get Ebay gift cards no longer will go through. Other gift cards went through fine but the system wouldn't allow Ebay.

I'm in Southern California. But I did stop at a Gamestop close to Disneyland on my way there, and it still worked. So I think different areas are slowing shutting it down.
Do you know if the SW gc's are good indefinitely? I don't mind gambling on GS if I know I can convert to SW but I am already sitting on $250 in SW gc's. I have my Nov 2016 flight booked so will use the $250 for my May 2017 trip. The next trip will be Oct or Dec 2017. If the GS gc discount continues to increase this may be an awesome churn for me since I am taking my two DDs and their families.
Oops, shoot looks like a grabbed the wrong post but if anyone has the answer would appreciate a reply.
Another oops swapped out infidelity for indefinitely, baby was crying so didn't have a chance to proof before hitting post, lol.

Anyone know if Gamestop -> ebay is working anywhere from Texas - La - Ala - Ga - Fl? About to take a two-week college-tour road trip, starting in Austin, TX and ending up in Gainesville, FL. I have $400 in Gamestop gift cards and my local stores have updated their system to not allow any gift cards to be purchased with gift cards. Wondering if we might be driving through a city/town that still allows this.

Thanks!
Would be great if you could post the location of where you were successful :) Thanks and good luck!

I can't comment on their customer service because in the 30 or so transactions I made with them I never once had an issue with any of my transactions or cards.

Same here. I started buying GC's from them back in 2011...discounts were great back then too...anyways, I bought at least one a week, sometimes once a day, when saving for Disney or doing home renovation. I never had a single issue with them. I am sad to see them go under.
