ABC's of Trip Planning (Oct 10-20), Vol. 2- Z is for: Zippidee Doo Dah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a lot to be thankful for- most of all good friends and all of you! I am pretty beat from today; it was basically baptism by fire from 8:00-2:30 when my first patient was stable enough to head out the door. I work again all day tomorrow (this is almost bordering on more hours than I'd bargained for), but will have a nice long 4 day weekend. Heading to the Painted Hills for some photography- something I've been wanting to do for quite a while.

Replies soon. Meantime, your sticking with me means the world.

I'm glad you passed your test, despite your initial feelings. I hope that you and your gals have fun on your roadtrip. I saw the post on FB!

Guess what....

Congrats on passing! I'm glad that you found out quickly! I remember what the wait was like to find out but I had to wait over a month as the results came by snail mail!

Must be such a relief to have that done and behind you and now you can really get excited for your new job and your upcoming trip!

Page 3 already? Man, I am so slow.

Don't panic on the boards! You never know. And I know you are a highly intelligent person who prepared as well as she possibly could.

When I took the exam for my Professional Engineer license, I needed a 70% to pass. And I got a 72. And I didn't care in the least! It meant exactly the same as if I'd gotten 100%.

Love the guest book idea! Very cool.

You haven't missed that much. Honest.

I was in full panic mode. Truly. That was the longest 24 hours EVER! Looking back, I'm SO glad I prepared as well as I did. It was so hard already, that I"m sure all the review helped some. All but one of my study group (who hasn't tested yet) have passed. I"m so pleased! All that hard work is paying off. Literally. New floor in a few weeks, hopefully.

You are so crafty and creative!

I bet you passed your test. Hopefully you get the results soon so you can know one way or the other.

I can't believe how lucky we are in this day and age. My MIL had to wait MONTHS before knowing. HOWEVER, in those days they could actually work with a provisional license. We can't. But less than 24 hours is still har

Of course you did. You are the only one who will be truly surprised....

Maybe so. You all are so kind and encouraging!

You passed!

Sho nuff did!

Well I'm glad you're all nurse like and everything. I'm going to bed. Mega tired.

I knew it!

Congrats!!!!!!

Thanks, Jill. ALL of my cohort who's taken it were positive they had failed. It is such a nerve wracking, horrible exam. I NEVER want to do that again.

Never doubted that you would pass. Congratulations!

Awwww, thanks! I had my doubts at about question 10. 32 SATA questions!!! Holy crap!!

I was pretty sure you passed, but knew that there was no reason to try to convince you otherwise!! :-) So happy!!! That's it now? No more exams, interviews, tests or whatever??? You are a RN with a job?! So proud of you!

No, you're probably right. I was 100% convinced. LOL! Well, yes and no. I have a couple of certifications I need to work on and pass, but I won't get fired if I don't. Most of the time, the nurses (and sometimes Docs too) stand around and help you. We were all joking about it the other day that even the Docs have a hard time on the questions. One is the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support with almost all ICU and ED (and surgical) nurses have to have. Since I work with a lot of children, I also have to get the Pediatric Advanced Life Support cert as well. But honestly, I'm pumped about those; they are subjects that are super interesting to me.

Yep, I"m a bona fide RN with a real job. My pay bumped WAY up on Thursday- new kitchen here we go! So far I really like my job. THere is a TON to learn, but my boss is telling me I'm a fast learner and she's pleased with my progress so far.

Well you did super! Congratulations!!!

Waahooooooty! Thanks, Donna!

I JUST watched this the other night for the first time. Cute movie!!

This is me in La Cava celebrating!! Oh wait! you'll be there too!

Way to go!! Nurse Liesa!!
We knew you'd pass. Why did you scarce us like that? : )
SO SO Happy for you!!

Why did I scare MYSELF like that?! Truly, it was the most nerve wracking, terrible 2 hours I've even endured. Question after question was about something I had NO idea about: meds I've never heard of, or procedures that were a complete mystery to me. I guess I was a good guesser. LOL!

Your window decoration are so cool. How do you find the time for these things!! It would be neat to surprise hubby with something for the window.
I feel like such a slacker, my binder planner never really came together, hopefully I will get more organized when I'm on vacation in a couple of weeks.

I'll have to be since (in 20days) I have to make fast passes then. I'm thinking we should be able to see /meet at Epcot on the 11th. We will be there all day with dinner at VN. Doubt we will get FP for Frozen that early in the trip, but hope to book one later in the trip(my understanding is to look for harder ones at the end of your stay, since that window will only be open for people that can book 60+) Also FYi, we're at the CBR.

It would be fun to add a little extra touch to your window. Makes the trip unique and fun.

My little flip books are coming along- I assembled the travel pages tonight with all the updated info of our flights, and am now working on the daily itineraries. Oh, and I also have my dining report pages printed so I can take accurate notes along the way.

Aside from the flip books, I am starting to obsess over my FiPs. (My pet name for FP+s, stolen shamelessly from Jordy years ago) I am down to 19 days, and have no clue. I will PM you my phone number so we can make sure to hang out on the 11th then. It's getting REAL!!!!!

Okay. OKAY!!!
sheesh.... what could be so bad that we have to....

OMG!!! My eyes! My eyes!!!!!!! gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did warn you....

Too late. oh Lord.... too late... cannot.... unsee........

You have no idea how lucky you are that your wifey counterpart had to do that.

I think you might be right.
That may be cheaper.

Cheaper yes, but not quite as fun.

I need to watch that again.

:goodvibes This may be the best Disney room idea I've seen.

Why thank you. :) I wonder what the furthest away guess book signature we get will be....

Wow. That really is a good compliment!

Mmmm.... mama's home cookin'! Tonight it was homemade eggrolls and fried rice. With plenty left over. This time you can come... I saved you some.

Chicken butt.

Sorry. That's from my kids.
But... I almost feel like not congratulating you... I mean... it was such a foregone conclusion ya know....

Okay, I'm kidding.

celebrate.gif~c200

I'm glad it's not just my kids.

I was just on a nursing thread tonight and saw that there are more than a few (all over the country) who weren't so fortunate. Some were on their 3rd try. That'd been HORRIBLE!!!!
party:party:party:party:

:cheer2:Congratulations!!!!:cheer2:

YAY!!!!! This calls for a dance party!!!

Congratulations!! :yay::yay::yay::dogdance::dogdance::cool1::cool1::jumping1::jumping2::jumping2::jumping3::dancer:party:

And another dance party...

Congratulations!!!!!:flower1::rockband::butterfly:rainbow:

And even another dance party! Thanks everyone; it feels SO good to be done with that.

WooHoo!!! Congratulations Nurse Liesa!!

:dogdance::dogdance::yay::yay::banana::banana::cool1::cool1::dancer::dancer:party:

And yet another dance party! Speaking of which... trying to decide on if we should go to a dance party at the MNSSHP.... Hmmmmm.... choices, choices.

I'm glad you passed your test, despite your initial feelings. I hope that you and your gals have fun on your roadtrip. I saw the post on FB!

Thanks, Alison! We're leaving bright and early Monday and will be home by dinner Tuesday. Quick, but enough time to see a place I've been wanting to for a while.

:dancer::dancer::dancer:

Congrats on passing! I'm glad that you found out quickly! I remember what the wait was like to find out but I had to wait over a month as the results came by snail mail!

Must be such a relief to have that done and behind you and now you can really get excited for your new job and your upcoming trip!

Thanks, Lessa! A MONTH would be awful! Did you work under a provisional license then?? I know here in Oregon, they would issue one of those so you could get to work.

Yes, this job has a HUGE and very steep learning curve for me. I'm not used to managing and maintaining airways like this. Sometimes they come out with an LMA, sometimes an OPA. It can be tricky to time the removal just right. Also, pain management is going to be huge for me. For example, a lady I had yesterday was really struggling with pain and I let it get away from her- the Fentanyl just wasn't cutting it. It didn't dawn on me until too late that she really needed Dilaudid, and by the time it had gotten to an 8/10, another nurse had to call the anesthesiologist for a Dilaudid order. I will get it, but it'll take some time.

Checking in! I might get a chance to catch up by the time you go.

Take your time, Andy. You've got bigger (ok, smaller) things on your plate that are FAR more important. We're here when you feel ready to jump in again. Give that baby a big smoocheroo from me!

Thanks for the heads up! 'Watching' and will be back to read :goodvibes

Look forward to have you come back when you can, Mama! Welcome aboard!

Well I'm glad you're all nurse like and everything. I'm going to bed. Mega tired.

Are you home?! I don't think so! And your little green lights on still, young lady... Go to bed!!! Adventure is out there!

Knew you would do it! party:

Thanks so much! You guys, All, are so encouraging! :)

Well, this goes more to the old thread, but I still need to belatedly say, congrats on the job! I'm glad everything turned out well, and I hope it'll be the perfect fit for you :)

That was sucky for the flight experience, but at least it all got settled with a better option in the end, so there's that!

Those are so cute! And super creative :) I can't wait to see the end result with the lights and all!

In addition, on the door, we'll have our "Guest Book" and "Mickey Wish Head". Using the extra blank yellow, red and black Mickeys I have, I will hang them from thin ribbons and make a big bundle of them to hang in a bunch on the outside of the door, along with a pen for people to sign their names and hometown if they want.

That is also really awesome. Like you said, those things aren't necessary for a great trip, but they still make it extra special. I hope you get tons of people playing along :)

Congrats on the exam! I mean, with all the time you've put into it, you really could not not pass.

One last thing - I was waiting to see if there were any news before commenting on this, but I hope everything turns out well for Zach. I'm glad to see there was only one small repeat after the initial episode, though, but hopefully you'll get answers (good ones) before too long.

You have no idea how lucky you are that your wifey counterpart had to do that.

Actually... you have no idea. But not something I wish to discuss on a public forum.

Why thank you. :) I wonder what the furthest away guess book signature we get will be....

I would say... probably the end of the hall. Unless someone mixes up a floor or is really lost and went to the wrong building.

:rolleyes1

Mmmm.... mama's home cookin'! Tonight it was homemade eggrolls and fried rice. With plenty left over. This time you can come... I saved you some.

You make homemade eggrolls??????????????????????????????????????? :faint:

Elle brought a friend over, so I made braised beef and broccoli, chicken and asparagus in black bean sauce and chicken stir fry rice.

I was just on a nursing thread tonight and saw that there are more than a few (all over the country) who weren't so fortunate. Some were on their 3rd try. That'd been HORRIBLE!!!!

Whoa. In that case... extra congrats!!

Firstly I have to say...CONGRATS to you!! I'm so inspired by what you have done and it is so amazing!!!

Just made it over here...I love following along on your PTR and "life" in general over here...I don't do games though lol don't hold it against me...I just can't seem to follow them!!!

Loved the drinks A-Z...very fun and I look forward to seeing what is actually imbibed :) PTR looks awesome and I also look forward to (hopefully) hearing about the keys portion of the trip because I have spent a decent amount of time down there :)

Yes, I am home. Not going anywhere overnight for 85 days now. But who's counting?

Certainly not me... ;) (Would it be ridiculous to say I've started packing?)

Well, this goes more to the old thread, but I still need to belatedly say, congrats on the job! I'm glad everything turned out well, and I hope it'll be the perfect fit for you :)

Thanks!! I'm really enjoying it a lot so far. Lots to learn, but I think I"m up for it!

That was sucky for the flight experience, but at least it all got settled with a better option in the end, so there's that!

All's well that ends well. Just got all my pages for the Flip Book Travel Chapter printed out now that everything's finalized. Can't wait to get those finished up!!

Those are so cute! And super creative :) I can't wait to see the end result with the lights and all!

I think the lights are going to add a whole new level of cool!!

That is also really awesome. Like you said, those things aren't necessary for a great trip, but they still make it extra special. I hope you get tons of people playing along :)

Me too!! We'll see if folks are game.

Actually... you have no idea. But not something I wish to discuss on a public forum.

Roger that.

I would say... probably the end of the hall. Unless someone mixes up a floor or is really lost and went to the wrong building.

:rolleyes1

<slow clap>

It will probably be someone who got a room on the 4th floor and had to go to the Food Court to get soda, food and miscellaneous crap 25 times a day. Not sure who would do that but....

You make homemade eggrolls??????????????????????????????????????? :faint:

Why, yes. Yes, I do. And they are rather tasty too. With ginger, sesame oil, and plenty of ground pork and veggies. And of course piles of sweet chili dipping sauce.

Elle brought a friend over, so I made braised beef and broccoli, chicken and asparagus in black bean sauce and chicken stir fry rice.

So you provided a feast fit for Emperors and Shoguns. Color me impressed.

Whoa. In that case... extra congrats!!

I'll take 'em. :D

Firstly I have to say...CONGRATS to you!! I'm so inspired by what you have done and it is so amazing!!!

It was a long, hard road that's for sure. But very, very worth it. Thanks!

Just made it over here...I love following along on your PTR and "life" in general over here...I don't do games though lol don't hold it against me...I just can't seem to follow them!!!

Of course I won't hold anything against you! I'm so glad you're here to share my Journey to Disney! Big hugs!

Loved the drinks A-Z...very fun and I look forward to seeing what is actually imbibed :) PTR looks awesome and I also look forward to (hopefully) hearing about the keys portion of the trip because I have spent a decent amount of time down there :)

I am too actually. Did a bit of fine tuning today, and actually found something for Letters U and Y. That is a HUGE hint for those playing, but since only a few of them read the comments, they are likely to have just missed that. We'll see who's paying attention. ;)

OH yes! There will definitely be a whole few chapters on the Keys part. It is, afterall, part of the trip. I'd love any tips you can give on kayaking to see manatees or dolphins, best tiki bars, best beaches to put my toes in the sand.... etc..
