Upgrade old base tickets to DVC AP?

We have some old 1 day MYW base tickets from about 6 years ago that we never used. They were from a Disney package. At the time we had the non-expiring tickets which we used.

Can these be used to upgrade to DVC AP? Would we do this before or after entering the park?

Is there a telephone number that I can call for confirmation of this?

We also still have some unused days on our non-expiring tickets linked through MDE. Would we have to do something special to make sure that the AP is used instead of the NE MYW tickets?

Thank you.

You can upgrade them in person. Don't bother calling; you're likely to get the wrong answer. You don't have to use them first before upgrading. You just need to upgrade them on (or before) the day you use them.

When you activate the AP, you'll need to make sure they "prioritize" your tickets so that the AP is used and not your old tickets.

Supersnoop,

Thank you. I do remember reading something about prioritization of the tickets. I'm assuming that would be done upon the upgrade. Is there any way to check that on MDE? I would hate for there to be an error.

Also is there any way to know the value I would be given for those old base tickets? Would it be the value of the base ticket price from 6 years ago? Or would it likely be less than the cost since it was issued as part of a package? Just trying to get an idea of the cost to upgrade.

When it was from a package like that they should bridge it so knowing the value is easy - it is what the current gate value is when you arrive to upgrade.

That is good news. I assumed I would be given a lower dollar value for the tickets. Thank you.

I took our magic bands to the guest service window at the international gateway entrance to EPCOT and the CM was able to prioritize my tickets. I had it done previously at another guest services location the year before but apparently when I put the new not renewed AP on the MDE it put that one second. I had both non expiring ones and my seasonal AP which had been upgraded from a weekday one and when I entered the park it took one day from the non expiring ones. It took him awhile to get it sorted out and then we finally had him remove the non expiring ones and put the remaining days on a hard plastic card. I don't know why I even thought to go and ask which ticket had been used that day but am very glad I did. I thought the CM who had upgraded the AP had done it but obviously not. Be sure to ask to have the tickets prioritized when you purchase them. Don't just assume the CM will do it.
