Official 2016 HHN-26 Thread

4 houses have kind of been announced already. The press release for the Chance reveal mentions she will be getting a house and a scarezone.

It's official!

Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield (or Halloween 2)

So that makes 5 houses we know for sure: Exorcist, Chainsaw, Walking Dead, Halloween, and the unnamed Chance house.

As soon as my daughter heard Michael will be back she jumped up and down she is a huge Michael Myers fan and loved the last house.

I'm really hoping that this will be good. I personally enjoy the second one a little better than the first one, plus hospitals are kinda creepy to begin with. Of course it may be because I got to watch the second one with Dick Warlock who has been the stunt coordinator in a lot of Carpenter's films and played Michael in H2 at that big horror con in Orlando a few years ago. He was super nice.

Carole will be happy ....her favorite guy is back.

They got a thang going on...lol said thang being terrified by Mr Myers Glad she got her wish for a repeat!

Sticky updated

Chance as icon isn't thrilling me, hope to be wow'd. Would hate to think she was selected for ease, both as to continuance of last year's theme & them having a plentiful pool of that 'type' to cast in the lead.

Lol.......yep, I'm over the moon he's coming back.........my niece told me a week or so before the announcement.......she knows someone.......lol......although it had been rumoured for a while......

Looking forward to this one again.........H2 isn't my favourite, I do prefer the first movie but hey.......a creepy hospital setting will be fabulous!

I agree. This should be good that hospital is creepy.

So this is going to be my first HHN !!! I vaguely remembered hearing about it last year when we were there (The Big Freddy Vs. Jason poster caught my eye) but I didn't think it'd be something I would be interested in. Fast forward a year and I decided to look into it. Then I started watching videos and I went :scared1: I NEED TO GO!
The only thing is I need some serious help because I have no idea what I'm doing. Universal is my planning kryptonite
We are doing Disney Sep 19-28 and we are squeaking in a day at Universal and HHN on Sept 23.
I know Friday is probably going to be more crowded but this is the best day for us because, well, the rest of my touring plan for Disney is done and that's the only day we have free to head to the "dark side":cool2:
The cost of 1 day P2P ticket is already expensive and then adding the HHN add on has given me some serious sticker shock:earseek:For ONE DAY it is going to cost us 472$+... Now adding an EP (which makes me mad it costs extra #Disneyspoiled #FP4lyfe :lmao:) just seems to make it an obscene amount of money.
On to my questions  :faint: :scratchin
1. Do we "need" the EP or can we accomplish all houses in one night [and enjoy the "scare zones"]?
2. Do tickets sell out for HHN dates?
3. What the heck are "scare zones". Do you just walk around them?
4. What else is there to do besides the houses and scare zones? Anything?
5. I know that Islands of Adventure closes at 7pm. Can we take the Hogwarts express over to HHN at 6:00pm [US closes at 5:00pm] or is not not running once that park officially closes?
6. How do I plan and make this work if I have no idea what I'm doing??:rotfl:

Thanks in advance for the help!:rotfl2::cool1:

Buy the discounted add on ticket for Hhn, much cheaper

Stay in the park when it closes at 5
You'll have a head start for the houses as those in the holding areas are released to do houses before those at the outside gate are let in

You can easily do the first two houses easily without ep

Then head to your third house and could need to wait in line

Ep usually don't sell out until later in October for certain dates
Hhn tix, I don't know if any dates but a few Saturday's that have sold out
In past years way ago, a few Sunday's sold out

Scare zones are sections in the park you walk thru and they have one theme
These will be in the open areas

It's entertaining !

All those sections will be indicated on the Hhn map

If you don't pick one up in advance, TM in the park have them for anyone that asks

Do take in the bill and Teds show

Potter section will be open during Hhn
I don't know how long the HE runs

Read the Hhn threads until you go

A lot will pop up once it opens which will state others experience in the parks
Also other sites will have info about Hhn

I use them also besides the Dis

When we went we stayed in the holding areas and got to do the two houses closest but we were glad we got the RP the lines got so long we never would have done all the houses. We went for 2 days and with the EP we got to do some houses twice . I would say the EP is definitely worth it if doable.

Do we "need" the EP or can we accomplish all houses in one night [and enjoy the "scare zones"]?

You need EP to do them all in one night especially if you want to do anything else that night. We went last year for the first time on the 2nd weekend Friday same as you. I didn't think it felt busy or crowded but the lines for the houses are still long enough that EP helps. We had early entry to one house from Scareactor Dining and the line was still a 10-15 minute wait at the first house. We didn't think we'd have enough time to do any of them twice so we used EP for all of them. (We did miss two, but we had time. I was sick that day and we left an hour early). We also had time to walk through the Scarezones, get some food, and do some rides. If you only have one night EP is worth it.

2. Do tickets sell out for HHN dates?

I'm not sure because I get mine asap usually, I always assume things could sell out but they might not.

3. What the heck are "scare zones". Do you just walk around them?

They're themed sections that you walk through between attractions and are located throughout the parks. We got to take pictures with scare actors in some, but mostly you just walk through and see them.

4. What else is there to do besides the houses and scare zones? Anything?
Some of the rides are still running, and you're EP will work for them too (you probably won't need it though). Last year they had the Harry Potter section open so I assume it'll be this year too. You can still get food and drinks as well. There's also some midway/carnival games with HHN prizes, and many shops are still open. There was also 2 shows last year and you could only use EP for the first showing, but we didn't need to. (We did only do 1, but some years they only have 1).

5. I know that Islands of Adventure closes at 7pm. Can we take the Hogwarts express over to HHN at 6:00pm [US closes at 5:00pm] or is not not running once that park officially closes?

I don't know if it was running during HHN (I don't think it was). I would take it over before 5 pm so you can be in the park early. That way you wait in a holding area, and you're one of the first to go to the houses.

6. How do I plan and make this work if I have no idea what I'm doing??:rotfl:

We planned what to do during the day last year, but didn't really have a plan when it came to HHN and it worked fine. We kind of ended up criss crossing the park a lot but just from looking at a map we didn't have a good idea of what houses we wanted to do in which order so we just kind of went with it once we were there. You could plan to do all the houses in area a, b, c etc ahead of time but once you're there things might work differently. (We were also new to the parks last year so we weren't 100% on the layout yet). The only thing we really planned was which rides to do during HHN, and which show to see. I think it worked out fine. We'll do the same thing this year, but hopefully with a little less criss crossing.
