Greetings,
I pestered many of you with questions leading up to our trip and I sincerely appreciate all the help that was given. We just returned from a wonderful 2 week trip to Europe. While in Paris we took a day trip to DLP and I wanted to post a quick trip report in the hopes that it would help others.

We made our journey on Tuesday June 28th. We took a taxi from our apartment to Gare de Lyon. We could have taken the subway and switched trains but we wanted a sneak peek of Gare de Lyon since we had train tickets later in the week to Barcelona. We used a kiosk to buy our RER tickets. I went ahead and purchased for the return journey as well just to make things easier on the way back. It was straightforward and the signage was sufficient to find the proper train for our journey.

It was an easy ride out to Marne la Vallée and before we knew it we were there. We opted to go to Studios first since DLP had early morning hours for guests staying onsite. We were there for rope drop and hustled over to Crush's Coaster. Even with doing so, we still waited in line for an hour. It was a fun ride and we were glad to have squeezed it in. We then checked out Toy Story Mania and rode slinky dog. We really wanted to ride Ratatouille but by then the line was quite long and fast passes were being issued for late in the evening when we knew we'd be in the other park. We skipped shows and just wandered around and took pictures.

By about 12:30 we wanted to head over to the other park for lunch and more rides. We made a beeline for the Indiana Jones ride and secured fast passes for later in the day. We then stopped for a quick lunch at Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outlet. It was typical park food and nothing special but it gave us fuel for the rest of the day. We knew quite a bit was closed (i believe 10 attractions that day) but we wanted to enjoy the park. So we walked around, took lots of pictures, and just talked about the similarities and differences between WDW in Florida and DLP Paris. We rode Pirates of the Caribbean, had DLP's version of a Dole Whip, rode the Pinocchio ride, the Carousel, Its a Small World, and then returned to ride the Indiana Jones ride. We LOVED this ride. So fun!!

We still had plenty of time so we walked over and rode Autopia and Buzz Light year. We could have squeezed in more but we really enjoyed walking around and taking in the sights. We did a little souvenir shopping and then had a quick bite around 7:30pm at Casey's Corner. We would have loved to stay for the fireworks but they were not scheduled until midnight and we had to journey back to central Paris.

All in all we had a wonderful day. It was a nice way to break up several days of sight seeing in Paris and we all (age 9 to age 59) had a great day. Many folks tried to steer us from going when we were planning the trip saying that the park doesn't compare to WDW in Florida and that we should spend the time in central Paris. However, I am glad that we didn't listen. We really had a great day and as Disney fans it would have been a shame to be that close and not make the trip over.

Hope this is helpful to someone planning their trip. Happy to answer any questions I can.

Thanks,
Ashley

hi, thanks for coming back and giving us an update. Great to hear you enjoyed your day at DLP. I guess you went with an open mind , having read that some people can get disappointed when comparing it to the USA parks.

Such a shame you missed Ratatouille, there is a single rider line, which is usually far shorter than the standby line.

Thanks for the report - that's disappointing that you had to wait an hour for Crush even at Rope Drop since that puts you behind schedule for the rest of the day.

Thanks for sharing, sounds like you made the most of the parks, shame you missed Dreams though

Glad you had a great day at DLP! We did the same when we went and glad we were able to go.

We are planning a 1 day side trip from Paris as well. Are you glad you did both parks? I am trying to decide between doing both or just focusing on one.

It's lovely to hear you had such a nice day. Thanks for sharing!
