midnight for FP+ important?

So, tonight at midnight I can do my FP selection. I usually go to bed early so I'm wondering how crucial is it to get on there at 12:00 in order to get 7DMT FP? I'd rather get up and to do my FP tomorrow morning at 6am than at 12 tonight. Do you think that would be ok as far as getting 7DMT goes? Last time I was in WDW the 7DMT wasn't open yet, but I was able to get all my other FP selections without going on at 12 (including all the mountains and Soarin).

It depends on when you are going. For 7DMT I would stay up rather then be disappointed.

I'm a fast pass+ newbie, so hardly an expert, however I would recommend going on at midnight for your must-do things that are big draws, and when you have specific time frames in mind. My 30 day opened up this morning, and at 12:01, the only times left for 7DMT were 4:30 and later. Checking just now, there are still a few evening times left to choose from. I wanted something in the afternoon so that we might have a chance of a 4th FP.

It all depends on a couple of things (1) Are you staying on Property? If you are staying off property and are at the 30 day window I would most definitely go on at midnight to reserve because even then reserving the spot might be difficult. (2) Are you going during a peak time? If you are going toward a peak time at Disney then again I would definitely go on at midnight to reserve my pass. And finally (3) are you looking for any specific timing for the fast pass? If you want a certain time of the day then definitely go on a midnight so you have better chances of getting the time you want. When we went to Disney last year we were going at a moderate time, so not peak and not slow. I went on at Midnight because I wanted Anna & Elsa and then 7DMT, We had a FP party at my house, lol. We made a Starbucks run at like 9 and stayed up watching Disney movies and eating junk food like it was new years eve lol. Anyways A&E I had to be flexible with because there wasn't a lot of Flexibility even at midnight, but 7DMT still had a lot of time slots available at that point. Everything else I was able to tweak. Also just to let you know if you plan to stay up at Midnight for 7DMT don't plan on just making that FP and then going to bed bc the way the Disney system works is that you have to make 3 FPs at 1 time on a certain day. They won't allow you to just make 7DMT by itself...They will require you to make 2 other FPs that day. Even if you don't want to. And if you try to just make 7DMT and nothing else you will not be able to go in there and add the other FPs at a later date which I think is totally stupid. At least be ready to make you FPs for just the day you are planning on 7DMT, then in the morning you can make the rest of your FPs.

Anyways back to my original point of the post...if you are staying on property, are not going during a peak time, and don't care about the time slot you get then I don't think it really matters if you go on at midnight or not. But IMHO I would go on at midnight just to make sure I got a spot because I am OCD like that, lol

Thanks for the input!! It's now 11:48pm and I'm waiting for midnight. Better safe than sorry. We are going April 15-22 and staying on site. Fingers crossed I get what I want and then can just go to sleep peacefully

Yes....my 60 day date is Feb. 23rd, I'd love to know how you made out too.

Not the OP but I made my FP+ selections at about 6am a few days ago, at my 60 day mark and got everything I wanted (only going for 2 days though), including 7DMT. Everything had multiple times to choose from.

Not to hijack or anything, but is it midnight eastern time? I am in California so would I be able to do it at 9pm?

I have heard that California are allowed to make FPs at 9, bc the FPs system runs on eastern time, so whenever the clock hits midnight for FL you can make your FPs

To add to those who are looking for feedback, I booked my FP+ at 9 am Eastern and got everything I wanted, including 7DMT at good times for us on 3 separate days, as well as A&E M&G for 2 different dates. I may adjust closer to, but had no problems getting my picks at the 60 day mark.

I went on at midnight and got everything I wanted!! I got TSM and 7DMT for multiple days and at times we wanted! Played it better safe than sorry and was glad I did!
