For the week in late August I priced (7 nights) the number of points for a Poly studio standard view is 153.. my quoted per night magical rate is $238 a night all taxes in.

So, 21 points per night at a cost of $14 per - is $294 (not sure if that includes any tax or fees - I've never rented points...)

My magical quote is more than your numbers. How do I find number of points per night for May 31-June 5?

The time of year will affect your quote - my quote was for the last week in August at their best price... Which in this case is during their annual special. If you were quoted for the dates you posted. your price will be different.

I use a DVC points app on my phone for number of points - May 31 - June 5 points for a Poly studio standard = 5 nights 111 points or 22 points per night, assuming $14.00 a point - $308 a night (still not sure if that includes taxes & fees)

DVC points rentals include taxes and fees. Also you're getting a slightly different type of unit as well. As with so many things, it depends on what you want as well as the price.

Well I liked the longhouse that is now DVC. If there are two queen beds, that is the minimum expected. I also read there is no cleaning service which doesn't matter much because we are four girls. What else is different?

$90 / night cheaper than magical is worth looking into.

Hey! All of us guys aren't dirty and require the cleaning service! Lol. Well the DVC units have a different bathroom setup (2 separate bathroom areas, one humongous one with tub, sink, and toilet, and the other with rain shower (must try) and sink). Also the beds are one queen bed, one queen sofa bed, and one twin murphy bed (with light inside and Lilo & Stitch mural). There's also a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, sink, toaster, and plastic utensils/paper plates, dish soap, etc. It's meant to be like a condo unit. Also all the DVC units have a balcony or patio.

Sounds like the room is better- two bathrooms and a kitchen. I know I still get to use transportation and pool other resort amenities. I need to rent linens, bring linens, or wash them before I leave? Or anything else or any other costs associated with things needed for the room? Bring my own ground coffee or such?

You don't need linens or towels, those are provided (as well as a nice selection of the hotel toiletries). After the third night you would get trash and towel service, full cleaning after 7th night. You don't have to do any cleaning for the next person, Disney does a full cleaning and replaces linen/towels between guests. If you need to wash the towels sooner, there is a laundry basket in the room, and the laundry machines in the Moorea building are free to use for the DVC units, just pay for soap or bring a few pods from home.

There is a standard type coffeemaker (not Keurig type), so yes bring ground coffee and regular filters.

So excited! Just booked an amazing offer for the Poly CL through Magical Vacations Travel! Visited but never stayed at the Poly, we have always done the WL but I couldn't get any discounts for our dates this year. We are really going to miss the WL CMs, I feel like I am cheating on them:guilty: but are so excited to try a new resort! Still reading through the thread but any tips, hints or suggestions would be appreciated. :drinking:

How exciting, you will love the Poly ::yes::. I agree about the WL CMs, they are some of the best! With that said, the Poly CMs are amazing as well (at least in our experience), so I'm sure you'll have a great time. Have fun planning :wizard:.

Just booked poly standard for May! It's out first time staying deluxe and I'm going to surprise everyone. Can't believe that I got such a good deal that it is actually going to happen! pixiedust:

What a nice surprise, you will have a great time :goodvibes.

Enjoy the planning :).

I have been trying to get a quote from them since Wednesday and no one will get back to me. Which person did you book through?

My DH filled out the quote request and Samantha replied. It took a few days at 1st but she definitely answers any of my emails pretty quickly.

I have been enjoying this thread, especially all the updates on the Oasis pool. Looking forward to our return to the Poly CL - we are booked GV August 13 - 17. Then we move onto BC CL August 17 -20. We have not stayed at the Poly as a family since 2006 - we had a CL Theme Park room way back then. I did stay at Poly DVC last September for an overnight for my ladies trip, loved it!

We are less than 100 days away from our 1st stay at PVB!! I am trying my best to read through this thread, so much useful info!
So I read that at check in, everyone gets a lei. Is this true for PVB stays too? What type of leis are they, I haven't seen any pics posted, and I'm curious! Also, do they offer any lei making lessons at the resort? TIA!

The Lei is a multi colored faux floral, we received ours the last few times as we stepped off the Magical Express.

Not sure about classes, but "Auntie" is usually sitting in the lobby working on the fresh flower variety :)

Well, a Villa isn't two queen BEDS. It's a bed, a pull-out sofa, and a murphy bed. Some people do not consider the sofa bed a bed like a bed in a standard room.
