Dream Along With Mickey Ending?

I've been hearing a lot over the last few days over various social media platforms that the show is scheduled to be ending in the near future.

I'm disappointed since it's one of my favorite shows to enjoy, though not surprised at all since it's been running for nearly 10 years.

I've heard that the show replacing it will include the Frozen girls, and I've also heard that it will not include them but will focus more on the newer girls like Rapunzel.

Anyone else heard anything?

Yes that is the rumor right now. I'm glad it's time for something new.

I head the same thing. And Disney will be ending meet and greets with the stepsisters and mother Feb. 21st

Now that is something I haven't heard.

A lot of the smaller meet and greets seem to be ending. Is this part of a general shakeup of which characters are where, or a reduction in M&G for less popular characters?

But are they really less popular? I mean I've never met them but would if I was there, I've just never seen them out.

Last few times I met them their line usually gets cut before they get there and many people are turned away. If this is true I am going to be very disappointed, especially if no other characters take their place.

Oh that's really a shame (about Dream Along with Mickey). We caught the last bit of the show when we were there and the kids LOVED it. We were looking forward to being able to see the whole thing.

I think in raw numbers terms yes. They're not as popular as say Anna & Elsa or Mickey and friends. OF course now lots of people will chime in to say they love meeting them. But given the number of people who visit WDW both things can be true at once. There can be a lot of people who love them and they still might be less popular.

One thing you can guarantee is that Disney count heads in the M&G lines. They know who their big hitters are, and that's why certain characters are everywhere.

One things that I think makes them less popular is that they 1. Aren't out all the time like Mickey or Anna and Elsa, and 2. They don't have a permanent meet and greet.

Of course not as many people meet them as mickey. He has meet and greets in every park and meets all day continuously. The Tremaine's have about 4 sets a day and only stay out for about half an hour. It's not a fair comparison.

All I know is everytime I met them their line is always at capacity. If Disney is just going to rotate 3 different characters in their spot I won't complain as much. If they're just cut that will be sad, especially with all the other character cuts lately.

So it's a self-fulfilling prophecy? It's possible. But honestly no I don't think so. I'm pretty confident that a lot more people know of Mickey than know of these sorts of secondary characters.

Again we're talking scale here. They could be beloved by 10 million people and still not be popular in comparison to say Mickey.

I think you're missing my point. I'm suggesting the reason they have less meet and greets is because statistically less people want to meet them. I'm not saying "nobody wants to meet them", just less people. At Disney World the focus is on volume. And yes of course their line is at capacity when they are there, because they have limited availability. That doesn't speak to their popularity.

Personally I think they should have more meet and greets in general, not less. But I still feel comfortable calling them less popular characters.

We love the Tremaines. Last trip, we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare just to meet them. I knew that it would be hit or miss in the park, so, paying for the meet and greet was the way we went. I think they are hilarious.

When we did see them in the park, it seemed that we always caught them as they were leaving.

I have fond memories of Dream along with Mickey. I have the entire show memorized just from seeing it so many times. :)
Anytime we walk past and the show is on I start saying the words and singing along.
My son now 20, jokes around with me and says "Stop it Mom! I'm not walking with you if you start reciting the show" ...lol
Glad I get to see it again before it goes away. We'll be there in March for the week of my birthday. :)

I'm just trying to understand this....so there won't be any show at all in front of the castle before wishes? I'm wondering if I should cancel my wishes FP+. :(

I'm scheduled for the 9th of april right now and the announcement indicates that the current show ends on the 2nd and the new one debuts "this summer."
