How crowded is Magic Kingdom on a Monday in summer?

I cannot decide if we should go to MK on a Monday or Tuesday. We have never gone on a Monday before.
On easywdw it says Mondays will be crowded because most who arrive for their vacations will go there first. Touring plans has Monday a 7 on the crowd calendar and Tuesday an 8.
Anyone go on a Monday? How was it?
I would really rather go on Monday but may change it if it is more crowded than Tuesday.

I like to hit MK as early in the week in summer as possible. Other guests don't have their 'vacation legs' under them yet, and they are not used to the heat, crowds and/or long hours. They'll tire out quickly and head back to the resorts.

This leaves MK wide open for late night guests. It may be crowded early but stick it out and you'll find some of the lowest crowds of the week.

Sounds good! We like late nights in the parks. We plan on arriving at opening then leaving midday and coming back in the evening.

Every single day id busy in the summer. There are a few days where the crowds are "lighter", but still busy.

It's so crowded they replace the water in Splash Mountain with olive oil so people can squeeze through the bottleneck to BTMR more easily.

Just wait a couple of hours. That bottleneck will disappear and you can hit both of those attractions multiple times with no wait.

We went on a Monday. We went late May early June. It was crowded at every park every day. We also went on a Monday in late June. It was crowded at every park, every day. With many schools now ending in May and more people traveling to wdw at all times of the year I don't think the crowd calendars are all that accurate anymore. It will be crowded.:-) Unless you go on a holiday. Then it will be very, very crowded. :scared: Enjoy your trip!

So I guess Monday and Tuesday wont be much different in crowd levels. I think we will just go on Monday and deal with the crowds. It wont be our first time being at MK with crowds. I wish the crowds would go down a bit but they just seem to keep going up no matter what time of year.

The "good news" for us is that BTMR will be shut for our upcoming trip, so we won't have to worry about it.

You can still ride Splash. Even in the heat of summer, guests fear getting wet after dark which makes this ride a virtual walk on at night.

However, they do close one of the loading platforms when the line begins to dwindle. This causes the boats to back up near the exit and it can take longer to get off the ride than it did to get on.
