Guaranteed Rooms Next to Each Other

When making a DVC reservation, is there any way to guarantee 2 rooms are next to each other (e.g. 2 studios, or 1 studio + 1-BR, side-by-side)?

No. You can request and if it's any resort (but Poly) the studios aren't next to each other. Only Poly is all studios and connecting. Other resorts are all mixed in with 1BR, 2BR and 3BR villas. And we had a studio and a 1BR booked at BWV for Aug 2015. I should have booked a 2BR and it's a long story why I didn't, but I requested the rooms be across the hall from each other. On check in day we did not get our rooms until 4:15pm (which we thought was because of the request) and, not only were they NOT across the hall (same side), but they were about 10 rooms apart with the elevator area in between. We requested to be near SIL's room at OKW once and we were in the same building but on different floors. We were told we were lucky to be in the same building.

Not with two studios -- they will almost never be side-by-side. If you book a 2 BR lockoff, that IS a one-bedroom connecting to a studio.

From my experience they will not guarantee rooms next to each other. We were able to make that request last October at the BCV and our family was placed in a studio right next to our 2 BR. If you are looking for a studio + 1 BR, can you book a lock-off 2 BR?

My bad, forgot about the all studios area of Poly. But for the points for two studios at Poly, you might be able to get a two bedroom lockoff elsewhere -- which would give you a full kitchen, living room, and dining area, and still provide separate entrances and bathrooms.

There's no guarantee but you can ask ms to put in a "travel with" notation so everyone might be close together/in similar areas.

To guarantee that you would need to book a 2BR lock-off at any resort, except PVB which doesn't have that category. You would have the same entry "key" for both doors but if you wanted to you could keep the connecting doors closed for privacy.

At PVB it would only be a request to have connecting studios but since all but 2 studios connect it is most likely to happen.

Side by side requests do not sound like they are filled too often. We've requests close one time and ended up on the same floor in the same wing at BCV but the rooms were not side by side. But we have had a connecting studio request at PVB filled. However, our 3rd party that I requested be near us was in a different building.

Well, technically, a side-by-side studio + 1BR is the very definition of a lock-off two-bedroom, so you could guarantee it by booking it as the two-bedroom instead of as two separate rooms. At the Polynesian, and only at the Polynesian, there are connecting studios.

Aside from that, though, there are ways to request that rooms on separate reservations be close to one-another, but no way to guarantee it.

BWV has a lot of studios next to each other in the pool/garden category. They are in the wing closest to the elevators.
