Is there a map with the standard room locations highlighted for Cabana Bay beach club ?.
I looked on touringplans.com(non-member) and could not find them like you can at the Disney resorts.
Not pool side standard rooms. TIA

Did you book standard tower or courtyard? Tower is in Continental or Americana. Courtyard is in the other 3 separate buildings (don't know the names)

I don't think there is a map that identifies which rooms are standard and which rooms are suites.

All I can tell you is that we had a standard room over New Years, and I think we were a mile from the lobby. OK, maybe not a mile, but...it really felt like a mile. I think we were in the Americana Tower, and ALL the way at the far end. I was wondering if we'd be in a better location by upgrading to a pool-view room next year.

which side of the resort ?
tower = buildings on the lazy river side or the resort
courtyard = buildings on the pool slide side of the resort.

which side of the building ?
standard room = facing the parking lots.
poolide = facing the pools and inside courtyards.

no, unless you place a room request to be close to the food court (which may or may not be granted)

but TBH, we were there last october, almost at the far end of Continental (opposite of Americana) and it was never more than a 5 minutes walk to the food court at a leisurly pace ... didn't sound like a mile ... it felt more like a block away...

I'm telling you, after 9 hours straight at the park, it totally felt like a mile. My 7 year old says 5 miles. :)

we all have a different way to feel things. But for the random reader who would be afraid by the infamous 10-miler to the food court, let's just state that, from the farthest reaches of the resort to the Food Court, it's a whooping 250 to 300 yards.

Yes, we were at the furthest end of the towers and didn't feel like it was a long walk at all. However, we had just been at Art of Animation staying at the furthest building and that took forever to get to the food court.

Ok, but in all fairness, I didn't say to the food court. I said to the main lobby.

Also, you do understand that it was kind of a joke, right? That was sort of the point of me saying "IT WAS A MILE (no not really a mile)." My point was simply that it's a big resort and that OUR standard room felt like a hike when we were all tired out from a day on our feet, and I was suggesting that perhaps a different room category could alleviate that. Which is apparently not the case, but not a bad assumption on my part, I don't think. But, given that I myself did not actually measure out the distance from our room to the food court, and from the food court to the pool with the slide, etc, etc, it's entirely possible that my experience is just wrong. Sorry about that.

You're definitely not the first person to say that it is a long walk! It all just depends on what you are used to.

So....the answer is there is no bookable category that guarantees a room closer to the lobby/food court? Pool view rooms just face the pool and standard face the highway, but both could be at the far end?

That is correct.
