Dining Newbie Question

Hello, my wife and I are taking our two young children to Disneyworld, they are 2 and 3 months old. When making a reservation, do I list the baby as well?

Also, since we booked our trip late, a lot of the restaurants no longer have reservation times available. Are we able to just walk in if we were interested in dining somewhere? We were interested in checking out the Sci Fi Drive in diner at Hollywood Studios.

You'll need a seat for your 2 year old, and a high chair for your infant. If you don't list the kids, you're likely to get a table meant to seat only 2 people-- with no room for the kids.

I would phone in the ADRs and ask, but I assume you want seating for 4.

We go to WDW in summer. At that point, at least, there are no walk ins for the typical dining times. Instead, I would find ADRs that are available. Keep checking; you might get lucky and get one that someone else has dropped at the last minute.

You need to include every person that will be there regardless of age or whether eating or not because of fire code regulations so you need to make your reservations for a party of 4.

Keep checking online to see if a cancellation comes up. The cancellation deadline is the night before so check even after you arrive at DisneyWorld. There is a cancellation thread at the top of this Dining Reservations board that you can subscribe to as well, but be sure to read the rules in the first post.

Walking up is a last resort at most restaurants because there's no guarantee that a restaurant will be accepting parties without a reservation. Depending on when you are going, if the parks are crowded or the restaurants are fully booked, a party of 4 would have a difficult time walking up to Sci Fi, especially if you want to be seated in a car. Sometimes walk ups will be accommodated, but at one of the round tables in the back.

Although, TBH, not sure the car seating works with a baby, unless you're baby wearing, and not sure that would be comfortable in those seats while eating.
