1) is parking at the Disney water parks free?
2) if I wanted to visit MK, paid to park, then wanted to visit AK later, do I have to pay to park again?
3) suggestions on what to do on our last day - we have until about 3pm

TIA

1. Yes.
2. No, just show your receipt.
3. That depends on a lot of factors. Where are you staying? Are you flying? If so, what time is your flight and how are you getting to the airport?

Our flight leaves at 615pm, we are staying about 30 min drive from Orlando International, and will be returning the car there. Thanks for answering my first 2 questions :)

1. I have no idea
2. keep your receipt and show it to the parking attendant at AK, you don't need to pay again (and if you are staying on property, you don't have to pay at all)
3. We either hit MK for a few hours or go back and do something that we missed earlier in the trip.

If you can have your car fully packed and ready to go, I'd definitely go early to a park, stay to the last possible minute, then drive to the airport and sleep on the plane!

If that's not your speed, I'd book a nice breakfast in a resort-based restaurant (I'd probably pick O'hana) and then shop at Disney Springs a while

We typically take an evening flight home, so that leaves us with a morning/early afternoon to enjoy before we head back to MCO. We also rent a car and drive ourselves around. We check out of our resort in the morning, of course, and send our bags to the airport via Disney's airline checkin service. Which is awesome. Our carryons, we load into the car, and we're ready for the rest of the day.

Our now-traditional final park of the trip has become EPCOT. I know, I know, EPCOT needs attention - desperately. But there's still enough for us to do to make it worth one final visit before we head home. We hang out a bit in the land and seas pavilions (especially the seas - my son could watch the manatees for hours) and then we meander around the World Showcase, trying to catch any favorites we missed on earlier days. We try to make sure to FastPass Soarin' while we're at it - that's my son's most recent favorite. We eat a good lunch, usually table service, since we know that the food options at the airport are pretty cruddy. (Burger King. Not really our thing, but it's what's near our gate.) We always do Memory Maker, so we take time to have our pictures snapped whenever we see a Photopass photographer - last licks, so to speak. And the final thing we do is give our little guy a coin to wish on at the fountain. (He always wishes to come back to Disney World soon and do it all over again.) For us, it's the perfect ending to the trip.

If you don't want to pay for a full park day on the last day, there is mini golf, Disney and others, also along 192 there is all sorts of little touristy junk to do, go carts, fun spot.... or stuff down I-Drive as well. Yeah, it isn't Disney, but some of that junk can be fun with kids, and you have the right attitude.

If you already have more than a 4-day ticket, it's only $10 to add another day - way less than the cost of any of that other stuff.

When my brother and I needed to catch magical express by 4PM on our departure date we did a late breakfast at Boma (10AM) followed by the last few hours in MK. Having the late breakfast was good because it gave us time to sleep in a little longer than we had been the rest of the trip while still giving us a reason to pack our last few items and check out fairly quickly. And since we already had 5 day park tickets it wasn't too expensive to add the 6th day.

Using FP+ we actually managed to get a lot done in just over 3 hours. We had FPs for BTM, 7DMT, Space. Rode the train from Frontierland to Fantasyland. Did PeopleMover and Monster's Inc stand-by and managed to catch the 3PM parade. We possibly could have gotten another ride in but we also meet up with our cousins and their kids who were just starting their trip and did the last few things with them.

Alesia has a good point - it's pretty cheap, at that point, to do a park day - no need to worry about "wasting" a day. (As long as you have a 4+ day ticket to begin with)

And, Alesia - not to derail the thread, but I LOVE the photo in your signature. What a fun shot! :)

I would add a park day on for the last day. You'll get a good 5 or 6 hours in before you have to head to the airport.

I park-it the last day: I'm also usually on a 6pm flight, and needing to be back at the resort to catch ME around 3pm. I like to linger a little in the morning and take my time getting out of the room, check my bags and then head back to a park to do a couple things and have a nice sit down lunch... I choose the park towards the end of the trip based on where I want to eat. I like to take it slow that day and just soak things in.

You might know this, but the tsa line at MCO can be quite long. Just to give yourself enough time to make your flight...

Sorry, am unsure what this last comment means....not up on the lingo lol
The security line at the airport.

And the other poster is correct - the lines can be very long. 45 minutes is not unheard of. They recommend arriving at least 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international flight. If you're flying to the UK, you need to be leaving WDW by 2:15.

You mentioned checking your bags at the resort, but driving a car... We want to do this for our next trip down in a couple of weeks too. Renting a car, but want to send our luggage and check into the flight early so we don't have to deal w/ it at MCO, and can enjoy more of the day at WDW. Thanks!
