:daisy:Hi Guys,

So excited to be back in planning mode and on the countdown to our trip to Europe!

I just can't justify the cost of staying on Disney property this trip, last time we spent big $$$ at Newport Bay Club and DH has not let me live it down and the experience was far from ideal o_O

I am looking this trip at Hotel l'Elysee - can anyone recommend it or give me any booking tips?

Also, we are arriving on a Sunday afternoon, and I think from what I can see online that the Centre Commercial Val d'Europe is actually closed on a Sunday? Is that correct? But meanwhile the La Vallee Village shops seem to be open? Is there easy access to the open shops from the Hotel l'Elysees, or would you have to walk right around the closed complex? I'm sad they won't be open as I was desperate for a lipstick restock at Kiko!

Thanks guys - so glad to be back on this board! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Hi @maryr1oz I am staying at Hotel L'Elysee in 2 weeks time. I have booked it as an extra night after my onsite hotel package. I booked online. I am staying on a Thursday night so Val d'Europe Shopping centre will be open on the Friday morning. Check back in a few weeks for my trip report and I can answer any questions you have :)

Hello

Atm the shopping centre is still closed on a Sunday but this is set to change for some of the shops as it has been now classed as in a tourist zone along with a few other areas. We don't know which shops will open though as it will have to go through their unions, management and workers

If it's closed you walk round via the main car park - that's the quickest way to La Vallée Village and it opens from 10.00am to 9pm so you could maybe pop in on a weekday for Kiko ;)

When I have more news about Sunday openings I'd be doing a post :goodvibes

That's fantastic - thanks @Carrie_Cat !! We aren't travelling until September, so I will hope by then some of the stores may be open on Sunday :flower3::flower3:

hi @maryr1oz

Just back from DLP and Hotel l'Elysee. My overall thoughts are its a tired and worn hotel, badly in need of a refurb. At the moment, they are construction works going on in the ground floor/ lobby area in the restaurant. They serve food in the bar area but as I arrived at 8pm they were only serving snacks.

The upstair corridor from the lift to my room looked very worn, the carpet and walls needing some refreshing. The hotel was clean, no issue there but just needed some love and attention.

Breakfast was served in a conference room as the restaurant is closed. Again the room looked worn and tired but the food was good. The breakfast was the usual selection of cold meat and cheese, fruit and yoghurt, bread for toasting and pastries as well as scrambled eggs, fried potato slices, veal sausages and bacon. Drinks were fruit juices and machine instant coffee (very weak, I drink fresh French press coffee at home)

I got route 50 free shuttle bus from DLP and it took about 15 minutes to the hotel.

Also Valee Village is a different shopping area to Val d'Europe

Valee Village is the high end shops and Val d'Europe is the big mall, normal shops such as H & M, the Auchan supermarket, Claires, Sephora etc etc

Honestly, I wouldnt really stay there again, unless I was planning on spending a day in the shopping centre. It was ok for what I wanted, somewhere to spend the night before my flight after checking out of my onsite hotel.

I would check out other hotels in Val d'europe or even the DLP partner hotels such as Kyraid, Magic Circus, Dream Castle or Explorers.

Hi @BadPinkTink !

Thanks so much for this information... I hadn't really looked into any of the other hotels, but I definitely will check some out now. I mainly had this one in mind as the price was good, and it's walking distance to the train station for us to get back into Paris. Such great information though! Thankyou. I will eagerly await your trip report :flower::flower::flower:

My favourite hotel in Val d'Europe is Relais Spa, which is just a very short walk to the station, in a quiet area and is luxury for a low price:

I'm fussy about beds but the one at Relais Spa was great, and almost as good as the ones in Hotel New York which are my favourite of all Disney beds, having not slept in Disneyland Hotel.

Aw thanks so much for that information @dlpSteve !! Fantastic. I checked out the Relais Spa website, your review and tripadvisor and have decided to book it. You're right - for a comparable price the quality looks better, and the distance from the train station is great! :flower1:
