Sister-Only Trip suggestions?

So for my baby sister's 18th birthday (she grew up waaaay too fast...) I am taking her on a Sister's Only trip 2 months later (May 24-27). We will be there for 3 nights, with 2 days in the park. I want to do something special for her, but I don't want to do a "birthday" celebration since it'll no longer be her birthday by the time we go. Any suggestions? This is our first trip with both of us as adults (I'm 9 years older than her), and it'll just be us two (without my husband and bonus kids and our parents). Our relationship is also more of a mother/daughter relationship than a sister relationship so I'm feeling a lot of pressure to make this a magical trip. She isn't one for tours etc so I don't think she'd appreciate any of those things...

Dining is throwing me through a loop too but I can't ask her opinion because I'm not telling her about it until March 19th...and I kind of want to book dining before then. Right now we are booked at Coronado Springs, but that might change if we are able to rent DVC points.

Anyone want to help me sort through all my thoughts because I definitely feel all over the place!

Is she an adventurous diner or likes to stick with what she knows? If she's adventurous, anywhere in Epcot would be fun, we enjoy Morocco since the food is good and you get a belly dancer. Since you are staying at CS I'd skip Mexico, they have mexican food there. If not sure of the dates but if F&G is going on at Epcot there is loads to do during that, visit the butterfly garden eat at the booths, just look at all the displays. Eat at Brown Derby at HS, it's not cheap but it's fun and we enjoy the food. Eat at one of the TS at AKL, bonus you get to visit AKL which is one of the most beautiful resorts out there. Resort hop on the monorail resorts and book lunch or dinner at one of them. She won't be old enough to drink or I'd say bar hop on them. Book afternoon tea at the GF, it's beautiful and fun (a little expensive).

She isn't very adventurous with food. So that's part f the issue I guess :-\.

Any thoughts or Coral Reef? It looks cool but I heard it's not very good...

Hey! I just got back from a ten day trip with my sister! :-)
I'm 31 and she's almost 17. A 14 year age gap so I know what you mean about the mother/daughter thing!
It was fun although very different then if I'd gone with someone else (for better or worse).
We had lunch at BOG and loved it! It was truly magical. The lunch there is QS and dinner is TS so there's a difference in menus, as you may know. But we really enjoyed lunch and would go there again!
If you get her a birthday pin she'd get a lot of attention and that's super fun (even though you mentioned you didn't want it to be a birthday celebration)... My sister's birthday is coming up in March but we were already celebrating so why not let others know about it? :D
BTW, I stayed at Coronado a couple of years ago and loved it. It's large so there can be some walking but it's beautiful.

I did order some custom pins on Etsy with Nani/Lilo that say "Sisterly Love" on them, so we'll be wearing those :).

I ended up booking two dining reservations (Ohanas' for breakfast one day and 1900 Park Fare for dinner another day). I'm not sure if we will keep both or not, but I'll make sure to decide that soon. :).

What about a Wishes or IllumiNations dessert party? Just as a fun, out of the norm, not-a-tour celebration? Or for something less expensive, both of you doing Pick-a-Pearl in Japan (or Disney Springs)?

Other than that, Flower and Garden runs through the end of May, so that will have lots of fun food options and bands at the weekend.

Edit: Oops!! The Disney website says it runs through May 16th, but all other sources say it was running through May 30th. I will be super disappointed if they shortened it.

I enjoy breakfast at 'Ohana, but even with an ADR it can sometimes be a long wait for a table. I haven't done 1900 Park Fare but it's on my bucket list just for the characters. Do you know if your sister has a favorite character? When we went last time (DH, his sister and myself), I really wanted to meet Mike & Sulley - so we made that happen.

See I might have to cancel Ohana. I booked it because she LOVES Stitch. But she also has a fear of characters, so I'm going to ask her what she thinks after I give her the trip.

The pick-a-pearl suggestion is AWESOME! I might do that with her! It'll be something she can keep after the trip <3.

The Narcoossee's menu is fabulous.
Coral Reef is fun and the menu is not too bad.
Be Our Guest is also fabulous.
