Aulani- Luau?

We went to the Paradise Cove Luau, we actually walked there from Aulani, was nice typical Luau fare and show.....get there early if you do this a lot to do before the meal and show

Has anyone done one of the outside Lua's with food allergies. We had planned on doing Paradise Cove but sounds like their quality has gone down from what I am reading. Need safe first and foremost and there was a good review of it with a peanut allergy. edit **** would still love input but just found Chief's has a great listed allergen menu and was recommended by Oprah so seriously looking at it

Chief's luau is the same luau as FiaFia at the Marriott property in Ko Olina. I mention this, because perhaps you can call the Marriott to see if that menu is the same as Chief's at Sea Life Park. It would save you a lot of driving! Chief's luau is great!

I like the sound of Chief's luau at Sea Life park. We also have one in our group with food allergies. However, I am wondering about transportation. Does anyone know if there is a shuttle that will pick up at Aulani?

That quoted page looks like a Trip Advisor review for Paradise Cove. Should take a look at the whole Trip Advisor page. There are a few reviews that are that bad but most of them are not. and the one quoted isn't recent.

It also means that they parted ways with that tour company for some reason. Who knows why. I'd do independent research before discounting Paradise Cove based on that page.

Can't answer your questions about transportation, but the show at Chief's Luau at Sea Life Park is the same as the Fia Fia luau at the Marriott just a couple lagoons away from Aulani. :) Sea Life Park looks beautiful, but you can walk to the Marriott. Truly, it's the same show. Chief does the show one day/week at the Marriott.... Tuesdays, if I remember correctly. The food is catered in, so it may be the same food that they serve at at Sea Life park?

We did the Fia Fia Luau at the Marriott Ko'Olina Beach Club on Tuesday, February 2. We went for the Premier Seating at $120 per person. I'm not sure it was worth it for the Premier seats. We got two drink coupons, and were first in line for the buffet. I think the regular seating get one drink. The food was just OK. Fresh Pacific catch was Mahi Mahi and the worst I've ever (not) eaten. Very strong fishy taste. The pulled pork was very salty. The so-called tender roasted steak was not tender, nor was it steak. More of a pot roast. The grilled chicken was very good.

The actual show was outstanding. Well worth the price just for the show. You have to call to make reservations.

We did Paradise cove last summer and had a good time. My daughter really enjoyed all the activities before the show. We are having friends join us this year and were thinking of trying Germaines. Do they do all the activities like at Paradise Cove? Also how far away is it from Aulani?

When at Aulani, why not experience Starlit Hui... there is no extra charge for it! We went to the Paradise Cove luau in 2013 and would not recommend it for reasons already stated in this thread.
I have also read great reviews about Fia Fia at the Marriott, but at the time we were there, that show was only on Tuesday nights and we weren't there on a Tuesday. You might check.
The Ultimate Oahu Guidebook was a great source of information for us on our trip there, pretty much spot-on in every situation. In fact, we are visiting Kauai too in June so I got their book for that island as well.
