Marathon Crowds?

We will be in Anaheim the week leading up to the Disneyland Half Marathon which is 9/1 to 9/4 (thurs to sun). With the main events being over the weekend, can we expect the parks to be very crowded on Thursday and Friday as well?

Crowds will increase then since a lot of racers come to the parks early to visit the Expo and pick up their packets with their bibs etc.

Yes. Plus it's a holiday weekend and many local schools don't go back until after Labor Day.

I was going to say the same thing. This is a pretty crowded weekend as the last hurrah for the summer. There will be crowds, and in my experience really hot, so be prepared.

Crowded, hot and all-around just not a fun weekend to go. Plan on a good day for Thursday - but maybe not on Friday. Passholders will come out in droves on Friday night, along with the crowds from the Labor Day weekend AND the Half Marathon race.

We are heading down that week but leaving on the 2nd. I'm hoping Thursday won't be too bad. Friday I'm not concerned about since we will basically be checking out and heading to the airport.

We were there last year that week, but were not in the parks Thursday and Friday. Tuesday, crowds were a lot thinner than I thought they'd be. Wednesday was a bit heavier, but still pretty nice. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday were pretty crazy though.

And 9/5 is the official end of the 60th, so there will undoubtedly be people who come to see something one last time.

Thanks everyone! We have no intention of being there over the weekend, just the weekdays prior starting on Monday 8/29 so I'm trying to figure out how many park days to plan for.

The last marathon weekend/holiday weekend we were in the parks, was very very crowded. But, got more crowded as the weekend wore on. Thursday was good, Friday pretty good....Sat/Sun was nuts.
