Hi, planning our first trip to Aulani in April, and I have an 11 yo DD who loves pin trading! Is it worth it for her to bring her pins? Is there anyone/ anywhere on property where pin trading occurs (shops?). Thanks!

I am leaving Friday and bringing pins. I've heard they have pin books in various shops. I've heard trading isn't great but there is trading. I've never been to Aulani so take this with a grain of salt, I'm basing my post on rumors. If I think of it I'll post while I'm there or after I get home for sure and give you the lowdown.

Thank you Michael!

My daughter loves pin trading and brought her pins. There are several places that have books, and she got a couple she wanted. It is obviously limited in comparison to WDW or DL, but worth taking some pins to trade.

Yes, bring her pins! My son started pin trading at Aulani and loves it. You can trade at the stores, the DVC preview center has a new board each day, the DVC staff near the pools have some and they have pin trading time at the Pau Hana room. He traded for some fun Stitch and Aulani pins that others bought and then traded to staff right away.

Ditto what others have said. DS 11 loves trading a Aulani. The concierge has a book as well and all the DVC cast members have pins to trade. We also found a book in Painted Sky.

They have a WHOLE bunch of pins in the store and they are beautiful it makes me wanna collect !

Good to hear that the rumors are true and I'm not dragging my pins 6000 miles for nothing. I'll be there tomorrow!!! (not rubbing it in) (ok, maybe rubbing it in a little)

LOL! Let us know how you make out and where you had the most luck trading, please & thanks!

The trading was so-so at best. It's better than no trading but not a true trading experience. There were 2 books in the main merchandise store and one in the high end store across the hall and the small souvenir shop in the pool complex. There was a pin board at the DVC welcome center and the DVC salespeople would wear lanyards. There really wasn't much enthusiasm about trading and the selection to trade wasn't very varied. I would say bring a few pins to trade but set your expectations low.

If my girls just want to buy some pins there for their collection, is there a good selection?

They did have some cool pins. I think my wife took some pics of the pins. Maybe pm alyssa810. I cheaped out and didn't buy any pins, just a t-shirt. Members get 10% off in the stores so if you're a member make sure you flash your card.

I bought more pins at Aulani than I thought I would. They were so cute and resort specific.
