I've been to both parks in the USA, but my goodness, booking DLP is very different! I've read back through the previous posts, and there seems to be different info given.
What I am hoping to do is book through either the French or UK site which offer much better deals than the USA site. I'd also like to just make a deposit at this point, as I am paying for airfares right now, and pay the rest in a couple of months. I believe that I need to call in order for that to happen, rather than use the web site. Is this possible? Some posts seem to indicate that in order to use another country's site (and price) I need to book online. If you can help me sort this all out, I'd be so appreciative!

No you can call and just say you want to book through the UK (or whatever site). This is allowed so if you are told it isn't challenge it or put the phone down and call back

As far as I know you can book though any country site (online or via phone) but a deposit in not available.

You can make a deposit only in the country you live.

I hope this is right.

NO this is not correct.

1. You can book through any country not just the one you live in.
2. When you pay online you pay the full amount at the time of booking
3. When you make a booking by phone you pay a deposit, usually around 15% and the balance is due on or before 30 days before arrival date.
4. You can pay the balance EITHER online or over the phone.

I have recently just done all of this.
  • In September 2015 I booked a trip for February 2016
  • I live in Ireland but the offer at the time on the French site was better than the Irish one
  • I rang the local number for Ireland and asked to be transferred to the French call centre
  • I spoke to an English speaking French person and there was no problem making a booking
  • I paid a deposit of 15% over the phone.
  • It took about 2 days for my confirmation email to arrive
  • After I made the booking and had a confirmation number I went to the French website and created a MY DISNEY ACCOUNT.
  • When I logged in I could see all my booking details and there was also an online payment section
  • After Christmas I logged into the French website and My Disney Account and paid the balance online.
  • As soon as I did this the payment section disappeared.
  • Again it took about 2 days for my payment email to arrive.

Yep, just to share my experience, I found the best deal on the Irish website. I'm in the UK. I phoned the number on the UK website, said I wanted to use the current Irish offer, they confirmed the cost for my party and dates, and I was able to pay a deposit. No problems what so ever. Didn't even need to be transferred to a different call centre - the guy in the UK call centre could cope perfectly fine with using a different country's offer.

Phoned the UK call centre about 6 months later and paid off the balance using my booking number.

I've never used the online My Disney Account thing. :) WIll have to have a look at that one day!

Just to clarify on the MY DISNEY ACCOUNT. In your case you would have made the account on the IRISH website,as that was the website offer you used.

You need to use the country website you book through, NOT the country you live in website :)

I booked through the France site a couple of days ago- I am in US. It was interesting, the conformation said I was only paying a deposit, but it charged the full amount to the card. Saved over $1000 over the current quote on US site and about $200 over the Stay 2 nights get 2 free they were offering last week.
